Chapter 957: The Mermaid Singer Appears

The next day, Lanlier and Lingxin were still on the island inquiring about Vimiya's possible whereabouts.

"The blue-haired singer? Never heard of her." The owner of the tavern was wiping the table, a little confused.

"Is that so? Then have you seen someone very beautiful? She probably has blue hair and a nice voice."

"This person should be the same as the one you just described. I have never heard of him. In my eyes, you are the most beautiful girl I have seen in the past few years."

"Oh, this makes me feel a little embarrassed..." Lan Lier sat in front of the wooden bar, asked the boss to bring her a glass of locally brewed beer, and then drank it in big gulps.

"It should be in this sea area." Thinking back to the information she had obtained from the Hinayue Council and Yi Xue's perception, Lan Lier shook the wooden wine glass a little bored.

"What's new recently, boss?"

"No, this sea area has always been peaceful, even pirates are rare."

"Why is that?" Lan Lier tilted her head and looked at the man in baggy overalls.

"Because we're so poor. Although there's plenty of food, it's cheap in the south. Anyone can go fishing." The boss wiped the table, poured himself a drink, and then sat back comfortably on a wooden chair. There weren't many customers anyway, so there was no need to worry too much.

"Well, I heard there's a celebration in a few days. What's that for?"

"Well, to commemorate the rescue, people here make corn cakes, bake them on stone slabs, and then throw them into the sea."

"Oh, isn't this a waste?" Lan Lier opened her mouth.

"How can you say it's a waste? It just grows freely in the soil. If you don't eat it all, it will go bad. It's better to feed it to the fish so that you can catch more fish in the future." The boss shook his head indifferently, then took another big sip of beer.

"Holidays should be fun. If you keep worrying about this and that, how can there be any happiness in life? It will be sad when you are old and can't play even if you want to." The boss said his philosophy of happiness.

"It seems so."

"Are there any other activities at the celebration? I don't think it's just feeding the fish."

"Other activities? Usually it's just dancing around the bonfire. They use those hexagonal stones to form a pattern, then light a fire and people jump around on them."

"Hexagonal stone? It should be basalt. Oh, yes, this is indeed the place where a volcano erupts." Lan Lier recalled the knowledge she had learned before. The formation of basalt is mostly related to volcanoes.

This stone is black and extremely hard, and can even be used to polish other materials.

"But it is said that a mysterious guest will be invited to this celebration." The boss finished his beer, put the wooden cup on the table, and burped.

"Does it have a name?"

"I don't know. I heard he's a very famous and respected person on other islands. There will be a special fleet to pick him up."

"Is that so?" After hearing this, Lan Lier suddenly became interested. Unfortunately, when she asked again, the boss didn't know much.

Three days later, the teak ship weighed anchor again and set sail towards the distance.

On the side of the ship, Lanlier and Lingxin looked at the island that was gradually moving away.

"I've made up my mind."

"What has been decided?" Ling Xin looked at Lan Lier beside her in surprise.

"I need to sneak back to see what their celebration is all about and who the mysterious guest is."

Hearing this, Ling Xin breathed a sigh of relief. She almost thought it was another crazy idea, but this was normal.

"It's not impossible to go back. Let that puppet lady help you. With her protection, I don't think anyone on the island will be able to detect you."

"That's the same, so please." Lan Lier clasped her hands together and bowed in front of Ling Xin to pray.

Seeing her antics, Ling Xin smiled helplessly. "Okay, I'll go talk to Yi Xue. I really don't know why you're so scared of this doll lady."

"Because she is very powerful, I feel like a child standing in front of her." Lan Lier shook her head and went back to the cabin to prepare.

The next day, evening.

Lanlier and Lingxin were flying high in the sky, looking down at the crimson skyline below them, which was dyed like a smoky haze. The wind blew past their ears, and their lighthearted mood was lifted.

"We're almost there." A clear voice came from the front of the two of them, and a puppet with snow-white hair was suspended in the air, with its small fingers pointing downwards.

Like a gem dotted in the azure, the sea water gradually turns light blue on the white sand beach, surrounding the island. Among the emerald vegetation, the white buildings are connected together and distributed in the southeast and middle of the island.

Although the figures below were smaller than ants and their appearance could not be seen clearly, a burning bonfire had already risen on the ground in the evening. They used black basalt to form a rough pattern, which somewhat resembled the sun, and a circle of torches was inserted around the basalt.

The noisy beats of drums began to clatter, and the group began to dance and spin around the campfire, singing ancient songs.

The three people in the sky looked at this ordinary and simple scene, and then waited quietly.

Not long after, a special ship came from afar. It seemed to rise from the bottom of the sea, and the three people had not noticed any trace of it before.

Yi Xue Green looked at the ship approaching below, with a brilliant white light blooming in his pupils, as if he wanted to understand its internal structure and people in detail.
