"Hello, may I ask what you may need, young lady?" A man in a neat black suit walked out from behind the table in the store.
"I saw it outside and was a little curious, so I came in to take a look." Loran Hill explained, his eyes briefly glancing at the inconspicuous badge on the man's collar, which was a lacquer night flower with a silver edge.
The corners are decorated with a silver leaf vein background, the middle is decorated with purple glazed petals, and the black lines outline the night flowers, making them look quite mysterious and beautiful.
This must be the new version of the Chamber of Commerce emblem. Loran Hill vaguely remembered that when he left the Western Continent in 1955 or 1960, someone in the Chamber of Commerce proposed several revision plans to him, and this was the one he agreed to.
The Silver Leaf Lacquer Night Flower Badge represented that this person was a powerful middle-level member of the Chamber of Commerce. Generally, this badge would only be awarded to someone of this age if he had outstanding performance. Judging from his conversation, he did have some potential. Loran Hill secretly gave this member of his own Chamber of Commerce a score in his heart.
"Even if you just want to take a look and learn more, we welcome you. Please come in." He didn't seem angry but simply made a gesture of invitation, made way, and introduced Loran Hill.
"Because our Chamber of Commerce has just arrived in the East and established a branch, there aren't many physical objects here yet. However, some small models and illustrations can help you easily understand the history of the Carites Chamber of Commerce and the help we can provide you."
He walked forward. The store was indeed a bit empty now, and many of the stands were empty, but there were still some standing boards with realistic oil paintings depicting the appearance of various products.
The largest painting in the middle occupies a prominent position. It is about five meters high, almost as high as three Loran Hills. The background is blue and white waves. In the middle is a mighty warship, turning in the huge waves. The thick gun platform is spewing incandescent flames, crimson gold shells are cutting through the sky, and there are traces of airships floating in the sky.
"This is a picture recorded in the midsummer of the year 1700 of the Third Era. It depicts the majestic presence of our Chamber of Commerce's greatest masterpiece, the Aglaia-class battleship, one of the Three Goddesses Battleships. It shone brilliantly in the great battle against the Crimson Empire, destroying countless of the Empire's warships."
"Although the war is long gone, our Carites Chamber of Commerce still maintains its unparalleled pursuit of excellence and quality. Our business originated in spices, flourished in shipbuilding, and later expanded into alchemy, brewing, machinery, steam turbines, magic furnaces, and extraordinary pharmaceuticals."
As he spoke, the man walked to the side and pulled down the velvet cloth hanging on a display stand, revealing another beautiful oil painting.
The picture shows a fruitful orchard. Orange trees are neatly arranged beside an aisle covered with fallen leaves, stretching into the distance. Among the dark green branches and leaves, plump, orange-yellow fruits are so heavy that they bend the branches. Beside some fruit trees, several maids in long skirts stand on ladders and carefully cut the fruits with scissors, and then put them into fruit baskets beside them. Against the dark background of the picture, the orange-yellow fruits are particularly prominent, making people want to touch them. In the lower left corner of the picture, there is a small basket containing several bottles of branded wine with words written on them. The amber wine reflects a little halo in the fragmented sunlight.
"This is a painting depicting our Chamber of Commerce's orchard. The Carites Chamber of Commerce produces a variety of fresh fruits. Unfortunately, due to the long distance, it's difficult to transport them to the East for everyone to enjoy. However, we have designed a new type of wine specifically for this fruit, Cointreau. Its rich aroma will allow you to experience the tranquility and leisure of a southern orchard in the summer."
"It looks really good, but it's a pity that I don't drink much." Of course, Loran Hill knew about Cointreau. She had visited the Chamber of Commerce's orchard before, but the actual situation was slightly different from what was shown in the painting.
She vaguely remembered that most of the people who picked the fruit were aunts and uncles, not maids, and that the fruit used for making wine was also a greenish orange. The paintings here probably depicted the fruit as a ripe orange to match the color of the wine.
"Excuse me, miss, what are you interested in? I might be able to provide you with some assistance." There was no anger in his voice, or perhaps he didn't care about such a small matter.
"Let me think about it." Loran Hill turned his head and looked at the booths throughout the store. Many of them displayed oil paintings, and only a few had models and real objects.
Loran Hill walked to a booth with a small golden windmill. The exquisite little windmill placed on the velvet cloth here was making light music. Compared with the traditional music box, its sound was more varied and complex, and it could roughly simulate some singing.
"This is the third generation of the 'Canary' music box developed by our Chamber of Commerce. Compared to the original version, it has 216 different tones and can simulate most songs. Furthermore, our Chamber of Commerce will provide the latest music discs from time to time. You can purchase them as needed to add more music to the music."
"It's the third generation..." Loran Hill thought thoughtfully. When she was in the southern border, it was only the second generation. At that time, she had discussed the development of this kind of music box with Vimiya. In an environment with electronic equipment, using classical mechanical percussion to make sounds has its limits, so it had to be put aside for the time being.
Although there are magical creations such as the phonograph stone, its principle has nothing to do with alchemy or science. The recorded sound will gradually distort as the particles of magic change and cannot be maintained for a long time. It can only be used to record the sound of some conversations, but it is still not suitable for music.
"Yes, our Chamber of Commerce hired the renowned Master Lan Li, a leading figure in the music industry, to redesign and refine our products, resulting in the third generation. Master Lan Li has also invented numerous other products, including the Magic Speaker, the Amplified Flower Tube, the Neon Light, the Acoustic Fountain, and the Cochlear Phonograph."
