Chapter 997 The Day of Heavy Rain

De Rosa was a close confidant and trusted aide promoted by his brother Amank. If it was the Queen who launched the coup this time, then going to him would be walking into a trap.

Blood Moon Hall? This was the palace where coronations and other important ceremonies were held. Although it was less crowded, its location was more secretive and easier to defend. It also contained several special relics that could be unlocked using royal blood.

Just go there.

After making up his mind, Aimank quickened his pace. At this time, the sounds of noisy and fierce fighting began to be heard in the palace on the ground.

Unlike what Edren had imagined, this time his opponent did not bribe the guards, but simply changed into the guards' armor and attire when sneaking in to assassinate.

To that prince and the people around him, these guards were all traitors. They were basically recruited and trained by the new emperor and had nothing to do with the original royal family. The guards of the original royal family had long since fallen apart in the coup.

After hearing the ringing of the bells, the assassins in dark red windbreakers stopped hiding and drew out their sharp swords to start killing the guards in the palace.

In the complex environment of the courtyard and palace, the guards in groups of three or two were no match for these professional killers. They used a secret method to burn their magic power, which greatly increased their killing ability in a short period of time. They quickly shuttled through the palace, searching for the figure of His Majesty the Regent.

"There are enemies!" a guard shouted loudly, then drew his sword and called his companions.

Such scenes happened all over the palace, with running and shouting everywhere. In just a few minutes, all kinds of sounds began to be heard in the originally quiet palaces.

Weapons clashed with each other amidst the rain, the sounds of battle erupted everywhere, and the uneasy ringing of bells spread throughout the palace, finally making the entire city noisy and tense.

Hearing the ominous sound of the bell, the faces of some pedestrians on the street changed drastically. Some hurried home, while others quickly closed their doors and bolted them shut. As everyone listened nervously, the sound of armored footsteps clashing hurriedly passed through the streets, gradually converging towards the palace in the center of the imperial capital.

"May the rose and the red moon bless us, I hope we can spend the day safely." Many elderly people knelt at home and prayed silently. Many of them thought of the grand wedding and the streets dyed red with flowers and blood after the wedding.

"Stop! Which legion are you from? Retreat immediately, or we will open fire."

On the street, soldiers from both sides raised their guns and confronted each other, pointing their black magic crystal guns at the enemy. The soldiers stood nervously in the rain, their fingers on the triggers, ready to fire at any time.

One of these troops wore short scarlet capes with a blood moon emblem on their chests; they were an elite regiment directly under the royal family. The other wore the same scarlet uniform, but with a red and green rose emblem on their chests, also a royal symbol.

After hearing such a question, the officer wearing the red and green rose badge ignored it and swung his sword.

“Fire!”

The two sides fired at the same time. Expensive enchanted bullets shot out from the magic crystal guns, penetrated into each other's arrays, and burst into blood flowers, then mixed into the muddy streets and spread with the rain.

"Traitor! Shoot, shoot!" Seeing the other side open fire, the officer belonging to Blood Moon shouted angrily.

"You are the traitors, charge!" The soldiers wearing the rose badge rushed out immediately. In this short distance, neither side would have a safe time to reload, and the confrontation on the street immediately turned into a melee.

The rain obscured their vision. They wore similar or even identical uniforms and fought only by the badges on their chests and the direction they were heading.

Gunshots began to ring out throughout the imperial capital. The rescue legion and the obstructing soldiers fought together and struggled to break through to the center of the palace.

At the east gate of Titaneia, several roaring chariots advanced at high speed, crashing directly into the heavy stone gate, sending up a cloud of dust and debris from the gate that had not been ravaged by war for many years.

"Open the door! You despicable traitors." The siege was commanded by a legion loyal to His Majesty the Regent, who were well-equipped.

"Oh, we are despicable? The Regent and his brother are the despicable ones. Does the throne really belong to them?" At the city gate, a noble in a thick raincoat responded in a low voice.

"I, Count Gekuan, am the former commander of a legion under the Crown Prince. I was once responsible for guarding the imperial capital. If it weren't for that coup, I would be your immediate superior."

"Bullshit! Brother Ansel died a long time ago. You are just an abandoned stray dog. How can you have the qualifications to make a fuss in front of me!" The officer under the city scolded loudly, and then ordered his men to intensify the attack.

The heavy orichalcum chariot opened the hole in front, and flames that were so blue that they were as bright as white burst out and began to burn the ancient and heavy door.

As the flames spread, the once exquisite carvings on the city gate began to melt. The once exquisite designs of flowers, grass leaves, fairies, roses, and other things gradually turned into ugly, filthy liquid metal in the blazing flames, dripping into the mud and flowing sewage.

The rising and evaporating white mist enveloped the city gate. The two sides shot at each other on the city wall, and the city gate gradually collapsed from the constant collisions and burning.

After hearing the noisy sound of footsteps and running outside, Queen Lily was urgently awakened by the maid beside her.

"Oh no, Your Majesty. There has been an assassination or a coup in the palace." The head maid anxiously reminded the Red Queen who was taking a lunch break.

After waking up quickly, Lily stood up quickly, glanced around, then picked up the child who was also sleeping, ready to take him away, but the prince, who was now three years old, was not as relaxed as he was when he was little.
