There are numerous clubs, both large and small, within the four university levels, but few truly thrive and endure. The True Red Rose is one such club. Composed entirely of students from Walled City College, it prioritizes absolute elitism, preferring a small membership to a small one. It's the undisputed number one club within the Walled City College. Furthermore, many of the larger clubs within the College are actually peripheral organizations, leading some to say the True Red Rose is a shadow club within the college, secretly manipulating many of its affairs.
Looking at this melodramatic scene that was like something out of a romance drama, Loran Hill also stopped in his tracks. A complex emotion began to swirl around in his heart: shyness, amusement, embarrassment, as if the second-year fantasy he wrote in his youth was being mentioned again.
I remember watching those youth dramas when I was a child. The male protagonists on both sides would do all kinds of magical operations and compete with each other for the favor of the heroine. The first time you watch this kind of thing, you will definitely feel very excited, but after watching it too much, you will inevitably feel embarrassed and funny.
Some students in the venue who were about to leave stopped and watched the exciting scene, hoping to see what choice the girl would make.
The students from Qiaodun and Chengzhai College were competing openly in the field, while the students from the other colleges were watching the show secretly, and the scene became quiet for a while.
In a room at the back of the hall, two sages sat at a table, looking at the information on the table, slowly savoring the creativity of the newly developed potions in this competition, and occasionally drinking hot tea in their cups.
"Did you see the scene outside?"
Although they were indoors, the two sages were not blinded to what was happening outside the walls. One of the sages, wearing a simple round hat and a white robe that looked like pajamas, stroked his long white beard and spoke.
"I see." The other sage was a bit tall and thin, wearing a neat black and white suit. His fingers holding the paper were thick and powerful. He looked like an eagle, sharp and serious.
"It's great to be young." The sage in white blew on the tea, drank it slowly, and then spoke slowly.
"If I could have gathered a group of people like this to help me when I was in school, I would have definitely been able to pursue Rebecca."
"Hmph, boring. This school is nothing more than a deliberately created greenhouse. In my opinion, all students should have been put on the brink of life and death a few times long ago, so that they can understand the reality and cruelty of this world. Instead of doing other things well in school, you're actually here to compete with your fellow students for attention."
"Okay, Ge'o, put away your cold and harsh attitude for now. After all, this is not the army." The sage in white raised his hand to comfort his colleague and long-time friend.
"Over the years, you've remained true to your original intention. You haven't changed."
"Although in our opinion, the behavior or ideas of these students may be a bit childish."
"But I still want to say that people need a little fantasy or publicity in their life." The white-bearded old man expressed his opinion.
"You should also know that adult life isn't as exciting as childhood fantasies. It's often dull and burdensome. Later, these unbridled, pure pursuits of beauty will become a gentle haven in their memories, allowing them to cherish their memories and prevent them from taking an overly extreme path."
“If a person sees and experiences only cold things from birth to death, he will not believe that there is still warmth in this world.”
"So, in order for these students to retain some kindness and beauty in their hearts, I still agree that we should allow them to have a warm and wonderful time. Although some may say this is childish and naive, ideals are often born from this innocence and purity."
As he spoke, his tone was filled with a hint of nostalgia for the past.
-----------------------
Red Shell Hall, the scene after the competition.
The students in the school are all young people aged between 16 and 20. Naturally, they cannot refuse such a lively atmosphere in the school. Although they don’t say anything on the surface, their eyes are wide open, looking back and forth at the two parties.
"Wow, this is interesting. Which way will Miss Lorain take?"
"The one on the left is the eldest son of the Duke of Griffin, and the one on the right is a branch of the Verdant Royal Family. Their statuses are similar. One represents Bridge Pillar Academy, and the other represents Walled City Academy."
"Miss Luo Lan is from the Walled City Academy. It's more likely that she would go to the right, right?"
"That's hard to say. He's only in his second year anyway. At worst, he can just make another choice next year and switch houses. You know, he's the eldest son of the Salus family, the chosen heir. He's both handsome and capable. If I get along with him, I might even become a duchess. How many girls dream of that?"
"But the ones on the right aren't bad either. There are many top nobles in the True Red Rose. It is said that the current Princess Evelyn is a member of this club."
"Why? Both sides are nobles of the Cangcui Empire. Miss Loran is obviously from the East Continent. Our Plantagenet Dynasty is no worse than Cangcui." A student from the East retorted in a low voice.
As the students whispered, Loran Hill finally made her decision. She didn't try to escape through the back door, didn't fly off, and didn't choose either of the two paths. Instead, she lightly moved toward the center, where the crowd stood.
After leaving the bright stage, the audience seats below the stage became a little dim. As the girl walked faster and faster, her black hair fluttered slightly, emitting a small amount of crimson light particles, and her eyes in the dark night gradually changed from pure black crystal to a captivating red moon.
The two incompatible temperaments of innocence and charm collide with each other, but not only is there no conflict, but there is a strange harmony.
