According to Lin Qiye's original idea, this maze should not have a way leading to the "future". Everything is just fragments of time spreading outward from the destruction of the Gate of Truth a hundred years ago... In other words, the starting point of this maze is "now".
But after listening to Lina's description of the maze, Lin Qiye hesitated again... Since this is an inverted pyramid, its top layer should occupy the largest area, and Lin Qiye is always pursuing the downward path, and his exploration of the top layer is very limited.
Who can guarantee that at the top of this inverted pyramid, in a place that you have not explored, there is no road leading to the "future"?
After hesitating for a moment, Lin Qiye picked up Lina and walked towards the direction of the number "3" in his memory.
As he stepped onto a piece of ice, a "3" appeared under his feet. Lin Qiye looked back. Here, he could see all the numbers he had carved with his own hands, because the time here was further back than all the past.
But there were no other sword marks left around the number "3", because after Lin Qiye arrived here, he turned back and explored in the direction of the "past".
Lin Qiye followed the original method and began to explore in the order of forward, left, and right. According to the number of sword marks he could see, he carved corresponding marks on the ice surface.
"-1.25", "2.5", "4", "2.75"...
As the sword marks continued to spread around, Lin Qiye walked further and further away from the "past".
But looking at the entire ice field, less than half of the ice surface is now engraved with sword marks... In other words, Lin Qiye still has a large area near the entrance of the maze that he has not explored.
He kept moving forward around the river that led to the maze, but most of the numbers he carved still started with "-". As time passed, the largest number he had found had become "37" before he knew it.
When Lin Qiye stepped onto the last unmarked piece of ice, he looked back and saw all the numbers.
He gently carved a number on the ice beneath his feet: "38".
This is the farthest "future" that Lin Qiye could find... But after he did all this, nothing unusual happened.
The cold wind blew across the silent ice field. Above the densely packed numbers, Lin Qiye stood there, motionless.
"Oh..." After an unknown amount of time, he let out a long sigh.
It seems that his idea was wrong...there is nothing at the end of the "future".
To break this deadlock, perhaps we can only approach it from another angle.
Just as Lin Qiye frowned in thought, Lina's eyelashes trembled slightly, and after a moment, she slowly opened her eyes.
"Are you awake?" Lin Qiye's voice rang out.
Lina held her forehead and sat up from the ice with difficulty, her face a little pale.
"Where are we?"
"Near the entrance to the maze, time is the most fragmented here. Even Vishnu can't find us."
"oh……"
"How are you?"
"It's okay...it's just that my mental strength is a little overdrawn, and I need some time to recover." Lina rubbed the corners of her eyes.
Seeing this, Lin Qiye asked in confusion, "How did you manage to summon King Arthur?"
"He allowed me to summon him... and this sword in the stone has some time power. It can connect him to me in the past and let me mobilize some of his power. The only drawback is that my body can't bear it."
“No wonder…” Lin Qiye nodded.
Lina glanced around and saw the sword marks all over the ground. Puzzled eyes appeared: "What are you doing?"
"Looking for the end of the 'future'..."
Lin Qiye told his thoughts again. The latter thought for a moment and shook his head:
"This method alone won't work... Time fragments don't just exist on a flat surface, they are three-dimensional. For example, a few meters above our heads, there is another time. It would take too much time and energy to use this exhaustive method to find the end of the 'future'."
Lin Qiye was startled, and looked up at the nothingness above his head, frowning slightly: "So that's how it is... If that's the case, this project is really too big."
But then, he seemed to remember something and looked at Lina, "Isn't your Sword in the Stone able to sense the flow of time? Can you find the direction of the 'future'?"
Lina thought about it and said, "I'll try."
She grasped the hilt of the Sword in the Stone with her slender fingers, closed her eyes and sensed it for a moment, then pointed uncertainly towards the sky above Lin Qiye.
"It seems... right above you. I'm not sure how high it is."
Directly above?
Lin Qiye looked up at the sky. The chaotic light and shadows also shrouded the sky, making people dizzy at a glance.
"Let's go up and take a look." Lin Qiye spread the wings behind him, shook them vigorously, and his figure suddenly flew up. Lina followed closely behind him holding the Sword in the Stone!
Five meters, ten meters, one hundred meters, two hundred meters...
As the altitude continued to rise, Lin Qiye shuttled through countless fragments of time. Slight dizziness flashed one after another, making him feel as if he couldn't tell the direction, but he still endured the discomfort and leaped straight up!
Just as he passed through a piece of time fragment, a mysterious glimmer of light flashed, and two figures disappeared at the same time!
…
Lin Qiye only felt a flash before his eyes, and the world around him turned into black and white.
At this moment, even gravity disappeared, and a feeling of weightlessness lingered in his heart. He waved his wings and looked back, only to see countless fragments of time flickering silently in this black and white world.
From a distance, these fragments of time gathered together like a cone of light. The apex of the light cone was a broken portal. Countless fragments of time were released from this portal and spread outward. The farther away from the portal, the more fragmented and denser the time became.
If you look at it from the opposite direction, it is not much different from the inverted pyramid described by Lina.
"Is this the full picture of the time maze..." Lin Qiye muttered to himself as he looked at the cone of light in front of him.
It was almost as he thought, the entire time maze was created because the Gate of Truth was broken a hundred years ago. It spanned a hundred years of history. They just shuttled through these fragments of time.
Lin Qiye flapped his wings and took Lina from the edge of the light cone, constantly approaching the Gate of Truth at the top. As long as they wanted, they could even enter any fragment of time directly from here.
"Where exactly is this place?" Lina stared at the scene in a daze, her eyes full of confusion.
