39? Chapter 39

39 Chapter 39

◎If you're not angry, why are you turning your back on me?◎

After dropping Chang Yisi off at her cousin's neighborhood, the three of them drove away. It was already dark, and the street lanterns swayed gently in the evening breeze, adding a hazy beauty to the ancient city.

"How about this one?" Sang Xinqi said, pointing to an inconspicuous little shop on the roadside. The three words "Old Taste" on the wooden sign had faded a little, but the aroma wafting from the shop was particularly tempting.

Jiang Xun leaned over to take a look. "These old shops are usually pretty good, much better than those internet-famous ones."

As they pushed the door open, they were greeted by the rich aroma of food and the sounds of lively conversation. The three of them chose a seat by the window. The wooden tables and chairs showed signs of time, but were polished to a shine.

"Give me some of their signature braised pork, steamed fish, and some seasonal vegetables," Liao Yishen skillfully ordered the dishes and turned to ask, "What else would you like?"

Sang Xinqi leaned closer to the menu and said, "Let's add some spicy spareribs."

The dishes were served unexpectedly quickly. The braised pork was bright red in color, fatty but not greasy; the steamed fish was tender and melted in the mouth. The three of them discussed tomorrow's itinerary while eating.

"Tomorrow we'll go to the ancient city wall first, then stroll around the old street, and in the afternoon we can go to that famous teahouse," Jiang Xun said incoherently with pork ribs stuffed in his mouth.

Sang Xinqi smiled and handed him a tissue, "Eat slowly, no one's going to snatch it from you."

It was already past eleven o'clock in the evening when we returned to the B&B.

After Sang Xinqi entered the two-bedroom, one-living room room, she went to wash up first.

When she came out of the bathroom, water droplets were still dripping from the ends of her hair, and her thin pajamas stuck to her body, outlining her slender figure. Liao Yishen was sitting on the sofa looking at his mobile phone. He looked up when he heard the voice, and his eyes stayed on her for a moment.

"Are you cold?" He frowned slightly, his voice a little lower than usual.

Sang Xinqi shook her head and wrapped her wet hair with a towel. "I just took a shower, I'm warm!"

Liao Yishen's Adam's apple moved, and he suddenly said, "Do you want... me to blow-dry your hair?"

Sang Xinqi's eyes lit up and the corners of her mouth rose unconsciously, "Great!" She was longing for such an opportunity to get close to him.

As they spoke, the two of them walked into the room where Sang Xinqi lived.

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Jiang Xun appeared at her door at some point, looking at them with a mischievous look on his face.

"What are you laughing at!" Sang Xinqi turned her head and glared at him.

"I'm not laughing at you," Jiang Xun feigned innocence. "I'm laughing at some people who finally got it."

After saying that, he winked at Liao Yishen and said, "I'm going to go wash up, you guys take your time!"

Seeing Jiang Xun leave, Sang Xinqi walked to the door and closed it.

The moment the door closed, he felt his heartbeat suddenly accelerate and his palms became slightly sweaty.

Sang Xinqi lay down on the bed, her wet hair hanging over the edge, "I'm ready!"

This unintentional remark made Liao Yishen's ears burn. He coughed lightly and sat down on the edge of the bed. "This...is not easy to blow."

"How about this?" She suddenly turned over and rested her head on his legs.

The fresh fragrance of shampoo wafted towards him, and Liao Yishen's hand holding the hair dryer trembled slightly.

He quickly turned on the hair dryer. Amid the roar of the hair dryer, he carefully combed her long hair. The feeling of the hair sliding through his fingers made his heart beat like a drum.

"Change your position," his voice was a little hoarse, "the back is still not dry."

Sang Xinqi turned around obediently and buried her face between his legs.

Liao Yishen suddenly tensed his body, and she could clearly feel the stiffness of his muscles.

"Why are you nervous?" she asked deliberately, with a smile in her voice.

"No, no," Liao Yishen answered stutteringly, but his hands moved more gently.

After drying their hair, the two chatted for a while about tomorrow's schedule.

Liao Yishen didn't get up until the sound of water in the bathroom stopped. "Jiang Xun should be done with his shower. I'll go wash up."

Sang Xinqi lay on the bed, listening to the faint sound of water, her thoughts drifting away involuntarily. Half an hour later, a gentle knock on the door interrupted her reverie.

He opened the door and saw Liao Yishen standing at Jiang Xun's door. "Is he asleep?"

"It seems so," Liao Yishen said helplessly.

Sang Xinqi held her forehead, "This is unreliable...then how will you sleep?"

"I'll go get another room."

Sang Xinqi almost rolled her eyes. How could this person be so stupid?

"What a waste of money," she said deliberately, "How about... just make do with it?"

Liao Yishen was silent for a moment, "Not very appropriate..."

"Liao Yishen," she interrupted him directly, "Do I have an infectious disease?"

"Of course not!"

"We are boyfriend and girlfriend, isn't it normal for us to live together?" I looked at him confidently and said, "Or maybe you don't even consider me as your girlfriend."

Hearing this, Liao Yishen panicked and quickly said, "How is that possible? I'll sleep with you."

Sang Xinqi smiled triumphantly, "Come on."

Liao Yishen followed her into the room.

The two of them lay flat on the bed, with a long distance between them.

Sang Xinqi raised her hand to turn off the light, and the room was instantly plunged into darkness.

"Then why are you so far away from me?" she asked bluntly, "What intimate things haven't we done?"

In the darkness, Liao Yishen's ears were red and hot.

But his body was very honest. He stretched out his long arms and pulled her into his arms. Sang Xinqi rubbed her contentedly, "You're so hot, so warm..."

In the next room, Jiang Xun, who should have been "asleep", heard the sound of the door closing, and a smug smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. The long-term love affair between these two people was inseparable from the contribution of his best assist.

It was late at night, the only light filtering through the window shimmering into the room. Sang Xinqi tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. Liao Yishen's arms were wrapped around her. Initially, the warmth of his embrace comforted her, but over time, the position became uncomfortable.

She turned over carefully.

"Can't sleep?"

The sudden voice made her pause. In the darkness, she couldn't see his expression, so she just whispered, "Yeah, I can't sleep."

After lying down again, Sang Xinqi folded her hands on her abdomen and stared at the ceiling in a daze.

"Liao Yishen," she suddenly called him.

"Hmm?" The man's low voice sounded in the darkness.

"You said...will we get married?"

The room fell into a long silence, so long that she thought he wouldn't answer, only to hear his firm voice, "Yes."

Sang Xinqi raised herself up and looked at him from her crouching position. "Are you so sure? What if... we can't get married?"

Silence spread again. Sang Xinqi realized that she had gone too far with her joke and quickly explained, "I was just joking. I just wanted to tease you."

Liao Yishen's voice suddenly turned cold, "How is it possible that we can't get married?"

"It was really just a joke..." Her voice trailed off.

"I don't like this kind of joke," Liao Yishen pulled back his arm and turned his back to her.

Sang Xinqi bit her lip in annoyance.

She stared at the man's broad back and gently tugged at the corner of his clothes. "Liao Yishen...are you angry?"

"No," his voice was so calm that no emotion could be heard.

Sang Xinqi didn't believe it, "If you're not angry, why are you turning your back on me?"

She clearly felt that her words were like a stone thrown into the lake, causing ripples of displeasure in his heart.

"Go to bed early," he said lightly.

Sang Xinqi pouted and sat up, trying to pull him up, but her strength was too weak and she failed. She shook his waist in grievance, "Don't ignore me..."

Liao Yishen finally turned around helplessly and met her wet eyes. She quietly admitted her mistake, "I shouldn't have said those things..."

Liao Yishen's heart suddenly softened, and his arms unconsciously tightened, holding her slender body in his arms. "I'm a little angry," his voice was muffled, with a bit of grievance, "I care a lot about what you said just now."

Sang Xinqi felt the rise and fall of his chest and reached out to wrap her arms around his waist. "I understand," she whispered, her fingertips gently drawing circles on his back. "I won't say that again, okay?" Her voice was as soft as a feather brushing against his heart. "Don't be angry."

Liao Yishen uttered a low "hmm", with the ending tone rising slightly.

Sang Xinqi was about to release her arms, but she accurately found his lips in the darkness and placed a gentle kiss on them. The corners of her mouth raised in a sweet arc, "This is compensation."

"Not enough," his voice suddenly became hoarse. He clasped the back of her head with his big hands and covered her lips without saying a word. The kiss came with great force, carrying with it a long-suppressed desire. It felt as if an electric current ran through their lips, causing Sang Xinqi's fingertips to feel slightly numb.

Her breathing gradually became disordered. When his tongue tip was tentatively invading, she suddenly bit it mischievously. Liao Yishen groaned, but deepened the kiss even more, and their hot breaths intertwined.

At some point, his body had completely enveloped her. When their lips parted, his kisses trailed down her slender neckline, lingering on her collarbone. The cool air suddenly touched her skin, and Sang Xinqi suddenly woke up. She held down his restless hand, "Don't..." Her voice trembled slightly, "Let's wait until we get home..."

Liao Yi's deep breath stagnated, his hot cheek pressed against her cold skin. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stop all movements, his voice hoarse, "Okay."

This simple word is filled with restrained tenderness.

The two of them slowly lay down, their chests still rising and falling violently, their heartbeats remarkably clear in the quiet darkness, echoing like drums. Liao Yishen turned sideways, his arm gently passing under her neck, and with a slight effort, he completely embraced her soft body in his arms.

The familiar refreshing breath instantly enveloped her. Sang Xinqi unconsciously snuggled into his arms, her cheek pressed against his strong chest. She could hear his heartbeat, which had not yet calmed down, each sound was steady and powerful. She unconsciously curled up the corners of her mouth and closed her eyes in peace.

She slept unexpectedly well that night. She had been tossing and turning just now, thinking she was destined to remain awake until dawn, but she didn't expect that a lingering kiss and a lingering hug would become the best soothing medicine. She fell asleep in his warm arms, without any dreams all night. Even the moonlight couldn't bear to disturb her peace.

-

The early morning sun shone into the room through the gaps in the curtains. After packing up, the three of them set off. The tourist city was particularly lively on weekends, and the streets and alleys were crowded with tourists from all over the world.

Instead of driving, they called a taxi to their first planned stop. They strolled hand in hand on the bluestone streets of the ancient city, took photos in front of the carved window lattices, and took selfies beside the old wall covered with vines. In order to taste the snack that was popular on the Internet, they waited in line for nearly an hour, but when the steaming hot food entered their mouths, the moment they smiled at each other made the wait worthwhile.

By nightfall, they had visited almost all the famous attractions in the city and decided to return overnight instead of staying overnight.

Sang Xinqi called Chang Yisi and asked her if she was leaving, but she said she wanted to stay for a few more days, so the three of them left.

It was two o'clock in the morning when I returned to Qingcheng. When the car stopped at the gate of the community, the clock hand had already pointed to three o'clock.

"Brother Liao, please take me in tonight. I really don't want to go back." Jiang Xun dragged his tired steps, his voice full of fatigue.

Liao Yishen nodded, "Okay."

Jiang Xun's eyes rolled, and he suddenly perked up. "It's so late, there's no need to bother making the bed. I'll sleep at your place." He paused deliberately and smiled mischievously, "You go sleep at Sangsang's."

Liao Yishen: “…”

These words were like a key, instantly opening the door to those beautiful memories of last night. Liao Yishen's ears felt hot, thinking that this guy must have done it on purpose.

Sang Xinqi glared at Jiang Xun with a red face.

"What? You don't want to sleep together?" Jiang Xun raised his eyebrows presumptuously, smiling like a cat stealing fish.

"Shut up!" Sang Xinqi grabbed Liao Yishen's wrist in embarrassment. "Let's ignore him and go to bed."

She pulled Liao Yishen and walked quickly towards her room. Jiang Xun's exaggerated goodnight greeting came from behind her, "I wish you two a good dream~"
