50? Chapter 50

50 Chapter 50

◎The news spread so quickly?◎

Due to the lack of direct evidence and the fact that Mr. Ma was covered in bruises, the police could only criticize and educate both parties before releasing them.

When leaving, President Ma gave Sang Xinqi a sneer full of contempt, and that look made her want to tear this person to pieces on the spot.

"Don't be anxious, I won't let him go so easily," Liao Yishen gently held her trembling hand.

Sang Xinqi pursed her lips tightly, the shocking scene just now still made her feel scared. "By the way, who called the police?" she asked.

Xiao Zhang and Liao Yishen said at the same time, "I don't know."

"The police arrived at just the right time," Sang Xinqi said puzzledly.

Liao Yishen held her hand and said, "Don't think about it now. I'll get to the bottom of this and won't let Mr. Ma off easily."

Sang Xinqi nodded, "Okay."

At this time, Xiao Zhang said, "Boss, I'll go back first."

"We'll take you there," Sang Xinqi turned to look at him.

Xiao Zhang quickly waved his hand, "No, no, I can just take a taxi."

Seeing that Sang Xinqi still insisted, he quickly stopped a taxi and left.

After Xiao Zhang left, the two of them also went to the parking lot.

As she got into the car, Sang Xinqi finally remembered the key question, "By the way, why did you suddenly appear?"

"Your assistant saw Mr. Ma following you out and sent me a message," Liao Yishen said, turning the steering wheel. "I was already downstairs at the time, and I rushed up immediately after receiving the message."

"Is that so?" Sang Xinqi thought for a moment, then suddenly realized something. "Wait, when did you add each other as friends?"

Liao Yishen paused for a moment as he gripped the steering wheel. He said frankly, "I ran into him a while ago when I was waiting for you downstairs in your studio. I figured you'd always bring an assistant with you, so I left him my contact information."

"Luckily you came, otherwise I would be finished," Sang Xinqi still felt uncomfortable and nauseous.

She didn't dare recall the scene at that time again.

She didn't even dare to think about what she would have suffered if Liao Yishen hadn't come.

Liao Yishen looked ahead, his voice low and firm, "I can't say that if you stop working, I'll support you. You have your own dreams and things to pursue."

Sang Xinqi looked at his tense jawline and listened to him continue, "But if there are any similar dinners in the future, you must bring me along."

"Okay," she responded softly with a barely perceptible sob at the end of the syllable.

She didn't expect that people could be so evil.

The night was dark, and the lights from the residential garage cast mottled shadows on the concrete floor. Sang Xinqi buried her face deeply in Liao Yishen's chest, her arms tightly wrapped around his waist. Her voice muffled through the fabric of his clothes, "Don't tell my parents, I'm fine now, so they don't worry."

Liao Yishen's slender fingers gently combed her soft hair and said softly, "Okay."

The two of them hugged each other quietly in the dim garage for a moment before taking the elevator upstairs. Just as they reached the door, it suddenly opened from the inside. Father Sang was standing in the entranceway in his home clothes, his eyes shifting between his daughter and her boyfriend. "Just got back?"

Sang Xinqi nodded. Somehow, seeing her father's familiar face, a sour feeling suddenly surged up her nose, and her eyes suddenly became hot. She deliberately kept her voice steady, "Yes, Dad."

"Hello, uncle," Liao Yishen looked at Mr. Sang and greeted him.

Father Sang nodded at him and stepped aside to make way. "It's getting late. Come inside."

"Okay," Sang Xinqi responded, then turned to Liao Yishen and whispered softly, "You should get some rest early."

Liao Yishen nodded and watched the father and daughter enter the house. He didn't turn around until the door closed with a click, then he took out the key and opened the door opposite.

-

After entering the house, Father Sang carefully examined his daughter in the light from the entrance hall, his brows gradually furrowed. "Why do you look so bad?"

Sang Xinqi unconsciously stroked her cheek with her fingertips and forced a smile, "No, maybe it's too cold outside."

She lowered her head to change her shoes, deliberately avoiding her father's inquiring gaze.

Father Sang's gaze lingered on her for a moment, his tone gentle but unavoidable, "What happened?"

Her heart skipped a beat, and then she smiled easily, "Nothing happened, Dad."

The air was silent for a few seconds, and finally Father Sang just sighed softly, "Bring your boyfriend to our house for dinner in a couple of days so we can officially meet."

"Okay," she replied softly, breathing a sigh of relief, then asked, "Where's Mom?"

"I fell asleep in the room. I didn't get enough rest last night." Father Sang glanced towards the bedroom and lowered his voice. "We're moving back tomorrow. It's not convenient to stay here all the time."

Sang Xinqi half-jokingly asked, "Am I not comfortable living here?"

"How could that be?" Sang's father laughed. "I'm afraid it will affect your work. Besides, when you go back, your mother has Aunt Jiang to talk to. Here, there's no one to chat with."

Sang Xinqi nodded, "That's right."

Father Sang said, "Go back to the house and sleep."

Sang Xinqi hummed, "Good night, Dad."

_

Back in the room, Sang Xinqi sniffed softly and forced back the tears that were about to burst out.

She fell on her back on the bed. As soon as she closed her eyes, everything that happened tonight flashed through her mind like a kaleidoscope. She felt uncomfortable in her heart. She suddenly opened her eyes, and the ringing of her cell phone broke the silence in the room.

The words "Liao Yishen" were jumping on the screen. It was a video call request. She stared at the name for a few seconds before picking up the phone.

"Haven't you washed yet?" Liao Yishen on the screen looked at her face still covered in makeup.

"I just chatted with my dad outside for a while," Sang Xinqi said, lying on the bed, holding up the phone, her voice a little muffled.

"Go wash up," he said gently.

"Okay," Sang Xinqi picked up her phone and walked into the bathroom, turning off the camera. "Can you please not hang up?"

His low laugh came from the headset, "I had no intention of hanging up."

The sound of rushing water continued for a long time, and Liao Yishen just listened quietly.

When she changed into cotton pajamas and reappeared in front of the camera, she found that he had leaned against the head of the bed with a book in his hand.

"Liao Yishen," Sang Xinqi called out.

Liao Yishen heard the voice and said, "Have you finished washing?"

Sang Xinqi nodded. "I'm done washing." She pulled the quilt over her mouth and said, "Let's go to bed. I'm so sleepy."

Liao Yishen said, "Okay."

Neither of them mentioned hanging up the phone. As the night deepened, the sounds of their breathing intertwined on the radio waves until the dawn broke.

I woke up before the alarm went off.

Sang Xinqi touched the still warm phone. On the other side of the screen, Liao Yishen was jogging in the morning, and the white breath he exhaled condensed in the cold air.

"Why didn't I see you jogging in the morning when you lived with me?" Her voice was nasal, having just woken up.

The voice in the headset paused, and the camera suddenly turned to show the tip of his nose, which was red from the cold. Beads of sweat still hung on his hair on his forehead. "Sleeping with you, I can't get up at all."

"I'm sorry for delaying you!"

"I have very poor self-control," his voice suddenly lowered, "When I was holding you, I couldn't bear to get up."

Hearing this, Sang Xinqi's cheeks heated up. She buried her burning face in the pillow, and a muffled laugh came over, "Okay, okay."

Liao Yishen chuckled, "Is there anything you particularly want to eat for breakfast?"

Sang Xinqi rolled over in her quilt, and thought sleepily, "I suddenly want to eat xiaolongbao..."

"Okay," he answered simply, and turned towards the entrance of the community.

"It's still early, why don't you sleep a little longer?" His soft voice came from the receiver.

"Yeah," she responded vaguely, her phone slipped to the side of her pillow, and she soon fell asleep again.

When she woke up again, the alarm clock was ringing non-stop. Sang Xinqi rubbed her eyes, stretched and got up.

After washing up and walking out of the room, the living room was quiet. Her father did not get up early today.

She tiptoed to the entrance, tied her shoelaces, opened the door, and saw Liao Yishen, who was holding a steaming breakfast bag in his hand.

"Did you buy it for my parents today too?" she asked in a low voice.

Liao Yishen nodded and handed the bag over. Sang Xinqi reached out to take it, then tiptoed to put the breakfast in the living room, quickly ran back to the door, and closed it.

At this time, the elevator arrived and the two walked in. She remembered that they were still talking on the phone, so she took out her phone and hung up. "We've been talking for over seven hours, and the phone is burning hot."

"Mine too," Liao Yishen took out his equally hot cell phone from his coat pocket, the screen still stuck on their chat interface.

-

Sang Xinqi had breakfast on the way, and soon after they arrived at the studio. When they got out of the car, Liao Yishen said, "Don't you want to kiss me before you leave?"

Sang Xinqi smiled when she heard that and quickly kissed him on the lips. "Let's go. See you tonight."

Liao Yishen raised the corner of his mouth, "See you tonight."

Sang Xinqi got off the bed and quickly entered the studio, then she started working without stopping.

She wanted to terminate the cooperation with Mr. Ma immediately. She felt extremely disgusted if she terminated the contract a second later. It was really unlucky to cooperate with such a person.

The midday sun shone obliquely into the office. Sang Xinqi put the sorted termination contract into a file bag and asked a runner to deliver the contract.

After finishing, Sang Xinqi felt a little better.

During lunch break, the cell phone suddenly rang.

It was Xu Jianian calling, she raised her eyebrows and answered the call.

"Do you have time today? Let's talk about school uniform design."

She said softly, "Okay, let's talk in my studio at three in the afternoon."

Xu Jianian, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Sang Xinqi got busy with other things.

Soon, it was three o'clock in the afternoon, and Xu Jianian arrived on time.

The two went to the conference room together, and after chatting about other things, they began to discuss the school uniform design plan. They discussed enthusiastically, from fabric selection to style innovation, and before they knew it, more than two hours had passed.

"By the way," Xu Jianian suddenly asked before leaving, "Have you terminated your contract with Mr. Ma?"

Sang Xinqi's hands, which were packing documents, suddenly paused and she looked up in surprise. "I just handed them the termination agreement at noon. How could the news spread so quickly?"

Xu Jianian shook his phone, his expression serious. "This circle is so small, there's no such thing as a secret."

He pointed to the chat history on the screen and said, "I just saw it in the group chat. Mr. Ma is spreading rumors about you everywhere."

Sang Xinqi took the phone and saw Mr. Ma making a fuss in the group chat, "The boss of Duxiu Design Studio relied on men to get to the top."

There were more obscene words following, and her fingertips were shaking with anger, "This beast!"

Xu Jianian raised his eyebrows in surprise. After knowing her for so long, this was the first time he heard her swear.

"What happened?" he asked with concern.

Sang Xinqi took a deep breath and told everything that happened last night.

The more Xu Jianian listened, the uglier his expression became. "I've heard that this guy has bad behavior. It's my fault for not warning you in time when I knew you were going to cooperate."

He pounded the table in frustration.

"How can I blame you for this?" Sang Xinqi shook her head and smiled bitterly. "If you want to blame someone, blame me for not knowing the person well enough. I didn't understand him well enough before I cooperated with him."

Xu Jianian suddenly remembered something, "Oh, that restaurant you just mentioned, I suddenly remembered it, the owner of that restaurant seems to be a friend of Mr. Ma."

Sang Xinqi's pupils suddenly shrank. "No wonder the surveillance camera is broken."

"Those who do evil will eventually perish," Xu Jianian said coldly, standing up and picking up his coat. "I have a meeting tonight, so I'm leaving first."

When he reached the door, he turned back and reminded, "Contact me anytime if you need anything."

Sang Xinqi nodded, "Okay."
