Her eyes were fixed on Pei's mother's room. Pei Ju saw her and reached out to hold her hand.
"Captain, do you want to continue searching after this one?" Pei Ju asked the captain suspiciously.
"Captain Pei, you and your sister-in-law probably don't know what the old lady did in the courtyard?" The captain repeated the team members' words. "Even if it wasn't you and your wife who did it, if we find something in your house, you'll have to wear this outfit for the rest of your life."
Pei Ju secretly resented that his mother was too high-profile in the family compound and did not remind her when Old Lady Hu was sentenced.
