When the family members heard Wu Jun's words, they became very motivated.
At 4:30 in the afternoon, everyone came down from the mountain in groups of three or four. After dinner, the team members accompanied their families to the mill to inquire about the prices of grain and oil.
"Xiao Jin, we'll go over there later." Lu Shiyi was eating dinner. "Family should send some oil."
When Lu Shiyi heard from the drivers that they were going to the Imperial Capital Military Region and the Southern Guangdong Military Region to exchange food, he wanted to ask the drivers to help transport the things over.
"Prepare five pounds of oil for Grandpa and Uncle each?" Su Jin pondered for a moment, thinking that the oil in the space is better. "Buy some and put it in the space for us to eat."
"No, there are a lot of eyes watching this time. It's best to use a 20/80 ratio. Just add a little bit." Lu Shiyi pondered for a moment and decided to reduce the oil content of the space to 20%. "The soybean oil we use now is too clear."
Su Jin listened to Lu Shiyi's arrangement and decided to go and take a look after dinner.
"Let's have boiled fish for lunch tomorrow. Wu Bu and Lao Lin both said it was delicious." Lu Shiyi and his friends had already caught a large bighead carp. "Fish is almost free, but it's very troublesome to cook."
It gets dark very late in the summer and the temperature gradually drops. After Lu Shiyi and Su Jin finished their dinner, Lu Shiyi took Su Jin for a walk. Some team members went to the mill with their families and bought not only oil but also a lot of coarse grains.
Every household was very happy and grateful to Wu Jun, Lu Shiyi and Lin Zitao.
"Minister Lu, are you also going to the mill to buy things?" Many family members looked at Lu Shiyi and his wife walking towards the mill.
The family members were all smiling, and Lu Shiyi felt relieved. During this mission, Lu Shiyi had heard many team members complain about food in private.
Lu Shiyi nodded at them, holding Su Jin's hand and continuing walking. There were not many people on the small road near the mill, and Lu Shiyi told Su Jin why he wanted to contact the mill.
"Ayi, you did a great job!" Su Jin said happily, "I'm not as thoughtful as you think. All three parties are capable, and they can also store the relief food allocated by the higher authorities as war reserves."
"I just want to make sure everyone has enough food to eat. It's been so hard these past few years," Lu Shiyi said with emotion.
When he first arrived at the Songjiang Armed Forces Department, Lu Shiyi was hungry for several days due to food shortage. He experienced what it felt like to be hungry, and only when the villagers needed help did Lu Shiyi lend a hand.
Su Jin put her arm around his arm and leaned her little face against his shoulder: "Ayi has done a great job. Let's go and see him, help everyone get enough food and clothing, and also take care of the family."
There were three or four people queuing in front of the mill. The three members of the Wei family were busy. Old man Wei saw Lu Shiyi coming through the window and hurriedly greeted him.
"Minister Lu, do you want soybean oil again today?" Wei Si greeted him cheerfully and left the matter of the mill to his wife and sons.
"Yes, but I want to send some back home to the old man." Lu Shiyi whispered to Wei Si, "Do you have any oil drums here? Prepare to send them back by truck."
"Yes!" Wei Si hummed, "But there are only five oil barrels, each of which can hold 10 kilograms of oil."
Wei Si was ready to lower the price and sell it to Lu Shiyi. He followed Lu Shiyi's advice and reported the plan to the Pigeon Committee. The mill and his family would not make so much profit.
"Give it all to me, fill each bucket with oil, and I'll go back to push the bicycle." Lu Shiyi patted his head and forgot to push the bicycle this time.
"Later, I pushed the cart to Lu Bu's home, and I delivered things to the canteen at around 1 a.m. every day." Wei Si was grateful to the Armed Forces Department for their continued support of the mill.
The mills in other villages were operating half-way, but his mill was profitable and received several praises from the county government.
"Then I'll trouble you!" Lu Shiyi didn't want to leave Su Jin's side, so he asked a few people to help transport the firewood to the family compound. "There's a shed in the northwest corner outside the wall for storing firewood. Just put it there."
"No problem. I'll settle the bill with you after everyone leaves. Go see if you need any more food first. I'll come back and deliver it together." Wei Si whispered to Lu Shiyi.
Lu Shiyi accompanied Su Jin into the mill. She saw that there were soy milk and tofu reserved in the mill.
"Ayi, let's order half a plate of tofu and soy milk every day, shall we?" Su Jin didn't like the milk she drank nowadays, and seeing that she could order soy milk every day, she said, "Comrade Wei, I'll order soy milk every day. Let's start with a month. How much does it cost?"
After hearing Su Jin's words, the family members immediately looked at Lu Shiyi, thinking that he would object.
"Old Wei, please order a year's supply of soy milk. Ask your sister-in-law to deliver it every day. Xiaojin is getting heavier now, and I may be out on a mission at any time, so I have no choice but to ask your sister-in-law for help." Lu Shiyi looked at Qu Caier, "Both parents have to go to work and can't take time off to come and take care of Xiaojin."
"Minister Lu, I originally wanted to send it directly to your house." Qu Caier's eyes were warm. Although Su Jinsui did not have help from her husband's family or her own family, she lived a very comfortable life.
"Thank you, sister-in-law!" Su Jin said gratefully, "I want to buy some bean dregs from you, and 200 kilograms of grains."
Only after the family members bought the things and left did Su Jin ask for the things he wanted.
"You don't need to buy bean dregs. This is what the mill has the most. In addition, we also grind some sesame oil and sesame paste here." Qu Caier found out that Su Jin liked to buy these things and originally wanted to keep them for herself.
Su Jin's eyes lit up: "Thank you very much, sister-in-law. I want some too."
Lu Shiyi and Old Man Wei were standing not far away. He spread his hands and asked, "Do you have any fermented bean curd left?"
"Are you a big-ticket buyer?" Old Man Wei didn't understand why Lu Shiyi was buying so many grains. "Are you mailing them home? My brothers are out of town, and they've mentioned the recent instability."
