Chapter 133 New Changes in the Fourth Battalion

The next morning, after the team members finished their training, Lu Shiyi and Liu Chuchang stood on the platform of the training ground and read out the list of team members who were going to the back mountain of the village for training.

Lu Shiyi handed the list to Liu Chuchang and asked him to take the team members away first. He drove the jeep home. During training, there would usually be a jeep accompanying them in case there was an emergency and they had to rush back.

"Wife, I've moved all the things we need to take back to the village into the trunk." After Lu Shiyi moved the things he needed to take back to the village, Su Jin locked the door of the house.

"There are popsicles prepared for Lin Lei and Lin Yan in the refrigerator. I told my sister-in-law to help look after the next house." Su Jin turned and went to Lin's house.

The two brothers Lin Lei and Lin Yan were doing their homework on the stone table in the yard. When they saw her knocking on the door, they hurried out to greet her.

"Aunt Jin, are you going out?" Lin Lei and Lin Yan heard their mother mention that Lin Zitao was going for training.

"Xiao Lei, is your mother home?" Su Jin nodded at the two brothers. "I'll go back to the village later. You two brothers should visit Aunt Jin's house every day and take two popsicles from the refrigerator in the kitchen. When you finish the popsicles, Aunt Jin will be back."

"Xiao Jin, you two go do your homework!" Yun Feng heard the noise outside and came out of the house. After hearing Su Jin's words, she asked suspiciously, "Didn't you sell the homestead to the educated youth?"

"Sister-in-law, the female educated youth bought my homestead. Later, they agreed to each contribute money to build a small courtyard next to the educated youth yard. When my eldest sister came to visit Sister-in-law Dahua, I returned the money to them." Su Jin spread her hands, "The homestead is still in our name. Each educated youth now has a courtyard with three bedrooms and a living room."

"That's great! There are fewer disputes now." Yunfeng said with emotion, "I was wondering why Dahua often stays at her sister's house."

"Sister-in-law, we're going back to the village to live for a while. Now that we've settled the homestead, I'll ask you to take care of the yard and the house." Su Jin handed the key to Yun Feng. "There are popsicles in the refrigerator for the two children. One for each child every day. They'll last for a month."

"I still think about them when I go out." Yun Feng looked at Su Jin gratefully, "The two children always say that the popsicles you make are delicious. Don't worry about leaving the housework to me."

After Yunfeng took the key, Su Jin turned around and got into the car. As the car started, she looked through the right-side rearview mirror and saw the mother and her two children standing at the gate of the yard watching them see them off.

"Xiao Jin, the educated youth have settled down, and they have cleaned up our yard. It's very clean." Lu Shiyi went over to take a look in advance and found that it was the same as before the homestead was sold.

"Sister Dahong said they wanted to have a homestead in the village so that Sister Dahua could visit her and no longer have to stay at a villager's house." Su Jin thought about how rare it was for the two sisters to be together. "I just want my eldest sister to have her family by her side when she gets married."

Given Wang Dahong's age, Wang Dahua will try her best to find a blind date for her.

The car drove towards the village. There were scattered pedestrians walking on the street. Su Jin looked around in surprise.

"Ayi, the search has started again." Su Jin raised his head and asked him to look forward.

On both sides of the county town gate, there were two teams of people wearing red armbands. They were all in high spirits, standing straight and checking everyone's bicycle baskets or backpacks.

Lu Shiyi stopped the car and handed over a list issued by the Armed Forces Department.

"Captain Lu, are we going back to the village for training?" The team leader had met Lu Shiyi together with Peng Hui.

"My wife will go back with us, and someone will have to keep an eye on the team members' meals occasionally." Lu Shiyi explained.

"Captain Lu, don't go into the city these days. Some people are here to inspect our work and they don't like people driving." The captain told Lu Shiyi, "You can walk or ride a bicycle into the city."

"No problem, thank you." After Lu Shiyi thanked him, he drove back to the village.

After leaving the county town, they passed by a truck on the road. Lu Shiyi noticed the person in the truck and his eyes tightened. He asked Peng Hui who it was and asked him to send his most capable man to take action.

"Xiao Jin, if someone asks you, just tell them that you will be arranged to go back to the village to take care of any injured people." Lu Shiyi parked the car aside, and the people in the truck bed got out.

Lu Shiyi rolled down the car window and saw a man standing outside.

"Lu Shiyi, you're serving here?" the man asked. "Why aren't you serving in the imperial capital?"

"It's the higher-ups' arrangement. I'm serving here. Are you here to inspect our work?" Lu Shiyi asked calmly. "This is an order from the Armed Forces Department. My wife will go and take care of any wounded soldiers who may appear."

"I heard from Achang that my sister-in-law's craftsmanship is very good." The man's mouth curled up slightly, "Is it a government car?"

"We have a lot of cooking stuff in the back, and the bicycle can't carry it all." Lu Shiyi spread his hands and said, "You go to work, and I'll go back to zip it up."

"See you later!" The man waved at him. "Don't go into the city recently. I'm doing this for your own good!"

"Don't worry, I know." Lu Shiyi rolled up the car window and left, speeding up a lot.

Along the way, the car was very quiet and Su Jin looked at him worriedly.

"Ayi, do you have a bad relationship with that person?" Su Jin asked curiously.

"We have a good relationship. I don't deal with the people behind him, so he can only help me secretly," Lu Shiyi explained. "I have the order in hand, so the other party can't do anything."

As the car entered the village, Su Jin discovered that many families in the village had raised the walls of their courtyards. She also discovered that Lu Shiyuan's residential land had been demolished, and more than a dozen courtyards had been built next to her house.

"The Youth League Home has been moved here?" Su Jin got out of the car and looked at the changes outside the homestead yard, looking around curiously.

"After Lu Shiyuan was arrested, no one dared to take his homestead, so the village allocated it to the educated youth." Wang Dahong said, standing in front of the gate of the neighboring courtyard. "It took less than 20 days to build it. We just moved out of the educated youth compound. No one lives here. I looked at the blue-tiled house. Xiaoshan and I live in the two courtyards closest to your house. The new educated youth are eager to switch with us."

Su Jin chuckled: "Sister, we are neighbors again."

Wang Dahong helped Su Jin move things into the kitchen and found that the room was very clean.

"We spent the most difficult time at your house. If it weren't for the homestead you applied for, we might have been living in one room with several people. Other villages envied us educated youth," Wang Dahong said with a chuckle. "We worked together to earn work points to repay the village's debt."

"Sister, you've caused a lot of suffering," Su Jin asked.

Wang Dahong doesn't like to owe debts, so Su Jin wants to help her sisters.

"We have a hundred yuan, and Xiaoying and Xiaoshan have also contributed dozens of yuan. We can pay it back in three to five years." Wang Dahong said happily, "At least we have a home. Even if we are not favored at home, we have a place to shelter from the wind and rain."
