On the tenth day of the Lunar New Year, Wang Da came back from the border to complete a task. Old Mrs. Wang brought her daughter home crying and making a fuss, insisting that Wang Da find a job for her daughter on the farm.
Wang Xiaomei only attended the third grade of primary school and never went to school again. The work on the farm was basically given to family members, and all required a sixth-grade primary school level.

When Wang Da came back, his wife Wang told him all the grievances he had suffered at home. He regretted it but could not say more.
"Wife, I'm back now. Just take care of the children. I won't let mother bully you anymore. I'll send them back home when the snow melts." Wang Da didn't want his children to be bullied again. "I'll go to Doctor Wang to find out about Erya's condition."
After Wang Da left, Daya walked to Wang Saozi's side and looked at her mother sideways.
"Mom, will Dad really let grandma and aunt leave? Will she never leave unless aunt tells her to?" Ever since Wang Xiaomei came, Daya has been like a maid, serving tea and water to Wang Xiaomei every day. Even the evening footbath water is brought to Wang Xiaomei by Old Lady Wang.
