Chapter 221: Fighting

"You can't eat this!" Su Jin tapped his nose.

Lu Bairen took a bite of the snack and felt that it tasted better than the snacks in the supply and marketing cooperative.

"Xiao Jin's life has become much better since she came to the capital!" Lu Bairen said with emotion while eating the cake, "It would be even better if it were paired with a cup of tea."

"You old idiot, the doctor told you to drink less tea, especially strong tea!" Du Ruo said without any humility.

Lu Bairen smiled awkwardly: "I just said it, I didn't mean to drink tea."

Su Jin looked at Lu Bairen's cautious smile and laughed secretly.

"Xiao Jin, remember not to make strong tea for your grandpa in the future. If the old man doesn't listen, tell grandma." Du Ruo wanted the old man to take extra care of his health, and even told Su Jin.

"Grandma, I've remembered it. Don't worry. As long as it's for grandpa's health, I will definitely remember it." For the sake of the old man's health, Su Jin stood firmly by Du Ruo's side.

Lu Bairen sighed directly: "Xiao Jin, you should make some snacks every now and then, waiting for me and those old comrades who have a good relationship to show off."

"Grandpa, I'll make some more snacks and biscuits tomorrow. You can take the small box to the activity center to eat." Su Jin said, not caring about Lu Bairen showing off. "These are just the ingredients. They are cheaper than the biscuits bought at the supply and marketing cooperative."

Lu Bairen's eyes lit up instantly. The old people would give the food at home to the younger generations, and they all liked sweets.

"No, even if we make it ourselves, we still need food." Du Ruo refused directly.

"Grandma, just make it once a month. No one would eat so many cookies," Su Jin persuaded Du Ruo. "Grandpa will definitely be hungry when he goes to the senior activity center. Packing some food for him will at least give us peace of mind."

After listening to Su Jin's advice, Du Ruo realized that the little girl was truly filial and was not just saying nice things.

"Okay, we can only do it once a month!" Du Ruo set a limit on this. "If you take the food out, don't let people think you're the one being taken advantage of."

Lu Bairen glared at his wife angrily, feeling that she was disliking him again.

Hanhan was held in Lu Boren's arms again, and he reached out to pull his beard, causing the old man to look down.

This action instantly resolved Lu Bairen's embarrassment. He nodded happily in agreement and teased Hanhan.

"Hanhan is the most caring person in the family. No matter what I do, Hanhan always supports me." Lu Bairen looked at the chubby little boy in his arms, and his smile deepened. "Did Ayi go to a meeting today?"

"You are not in the position to do so now, and you are not allowed to ask about what's going on outside." Du Ruo warned Lu Bairen.

Recently, a lot of changes have taken place in the compound. Some of Lu Bairen’s old comrades have been implicated, and many are preparing to leave with their families.

Some people want to seek help, and the Lu family is the best breakthrough point. Commander Lu Shiyi's farm once again appears in everyone's sight.

Lu Bairen had unplugged the Lu family's phone line early on, making it impossible for anyone who wanted to plead for mercy to find anyone.

"How could I not know? None of them is thinking about the Lu family. They just want to use their old friendship to ask Ayi for help." Lu Bairen is happy to pretend to be confused as long as the other party does not involve the future of the Lu family.

Seeing that his husband was clear-headed, Du Ruo didn't say much and just told him to have fun.

Su Jin took Hanhan in, and the mother and son sent Lu Bairen to the door.

"Xiao Jin, bring Hanhan back. It's still a bit cold outside. The old man goes out twice a day, and you always send him to the door!" Du Ruo didn't want Su Jin to be too restrained. Home was a place to relax.

"Grandma, I'll feed Hanhan and coax him to sleep, then I'll go back and bake cookies." Su Jin sat on the sofa, chatting with Du Ruo, and took Hanhan's bottle from Aunt Yang with her right hand. "Grandpa will be able to take the cookies out tomorrow. I heard from Ayi that Grandpa often suffers from low blood sugar."

"That's right. This is a problem he developed in the past. If he doesn't pay attention, it will relapse." Du Ruo smiled bitterly, "Your grandfather doesn't listen to the doctor's advice."

"Grandma, with you by grandpa's side, he will definitely take care of his health." Su Jin comforted Du Ruo.

"Your grandfather is very capable. You have to be more responsible when we get to the farm." Du Ruo sighed, "You will push Hanhan home later. There will be people coming to our house this afternoon. They are not good people."

Su Jin was slightly stunned. Du Ruo rarely talked about other people's shortcomings. It seemed that the person who visited today was someone Du Ruo disliked.

"Okay!" Su Jin nodded. "I'll stay with Grandma for a while. Aunt Yang, I'll ask you to take care of Grandma this afternoon. If outsiders bully her, you must tell us when Ayi and I come back."

Aunt Yang glanced at Du Ruo, and after receiving the old lady's affirmative look, she immediately nodded in agreement.

"I will take good care of you, aunt." Aunt Yang agreed.

Su Jin happily stayed with Du Ruo for less than an hour, and Du Ruo sent her home directly.

She pushed the stroller out of the old house and walked along the tree-lined road, watching four old ladies walking hurriedly towards the Lu family.

Su Jin looked at the four people and found that just as Du Ruo said, they all looked unhappy.

"Why are you blocking the road here!" Su Jin had just passed by four people. The baby carriage was leaning against the side of the road and accidentally brushed against the bag of the old lady closest to the side.

"It was just a light rub. Please lower your voice. There are children here." Su Jin was not afraid of the other party. "Also, this wide road is not enough for you to walk? You are obviously looking for trouble."

The four of them stared at Su Jin with displeasure on their faces.

"We are your elders. Aren't you afraid that we will complain to you when you speak to us like this?" asked the old lady in the middle.
