Chapter 266 Refusing to Deliver Food

Lu Shiyi took another big bag of cotton in his right hand and went into the mountains, asking Su Jin to help make cotton clothes.

"Two more people have come to the cowshed. They are said to be professors from Imperial Capital University, two elderly couples." Lu Shiyi reminded Su Jin in a low voice, "We will pass by the cowshed on the way back. Prepare some coarse grains and send them there in the evening."

There are spies from the Pigeon Committee in the village, and Lu Shiyi plans to deliver it at night. In winter, villagers don't often go to the cowshed. Old Wei mentioned it specifically the day before, and Lu Shiyi took it to heart.

Lu Shiyi was placed on the farm for custody, partly because he was required to protect the people below, and partly because he was required to protect the border.

The old people are all outstanding in their respective fields. They are being targeted by their superiors and are unable to deal with the situation for the time being. Once the situation outside improves, they will definitely be recruited back.

"Ayi, I remember that the pots and pans that Grandpa Song and the others hid in the cowshed are still there. If things don't work, let them use this set of pots and pans first." Su Jin discussed with Lu Shiyi as they entered the mountains.

"Villagers rarely go there in winter, so we can go there anytime!" Lu Shiyi accompanied Su Jin to deliver things to Old Song and others. It was just winter one year, and the two of them acted in perfect harmony.

When she arrived at the farm, Old Wei and Lu Bairen were waiting at the door. The young couple looked at her in surprise.

"Ayi, Old Wu and Old Deng in the cowshed are in bad condition. Hurry and send some medicine over there tonight!" Lu Bairen whispered to Lu Shiyi. "You guys can also secretly send some food over there. I heard from Old Wei that most of the farm's food has been taken away by the Pigeon Committee members who came over."

"Grandpa Wei, are the pots and pans still there?" Lu Shiyi heard strange footsteps in the deep forest and immediately turned his head to look into the distance. Two unfamiliar faces passed by quickly.

Lu Shiyi walked in immediately and the farm gate was closed.

Two people were hiding in the bushes outside the main gate of the farm. They were sent here by the Yan family. They could not contact anyone inside the farm. After much inquiries, the Yan family heard that a permit was required to enter and exit the farm.

Lu Shiyi and Su Jin went out together because the Lu family had a residential plot in the village at the foot of the mountain.

"Tianying, the higher-ups have sent us here to keep an eye on the Lu family. I see Old Man Lu is here too, making a scene in front of the old man..." The man on the right scratched his hair in annoyance. "The Lu family has done my family a favor. I can't possibly attack Lu Shiyi."

Tianying reached out and patted the man: "Qimu, we can only follow orders. You are not in the Lu family team."

Qimu had a mournful look on his face and took a few deep breaths. "I know my responsibilities. We'll stand guard at the main gate and be ready to contact the spies inside the farm at any time."

After returning, Qimu was ready to retire and go home, but the Yan family had something on his family and kicked him out of the Excalibur team.

Lu Shiyi led Wei Lao and Lu Shiyi to the courtyard of the two elders. Du Ruo was talking to Hanhan. Seeing the four people coming, he went straight to pour tea.

Su Jin went into the kitchen to accompany Du Ruo: "Grandma, did you sleep well last night?"

"Don't go out through the main gate recently." Du Ruo reminded Su Jin. When Lu's father called back, Lu Bairen's face turned gloomy after he answered the phone.

After hearing what Lu Bairen said about his father's phone call, Lu Shiyi hated the Yan family deeply.

"Old Deng and Old Wu were both sent directly from the northwest. It's said they had missions on hand at the time." Elder Wei explained their identities in detail. "If you're delivering anything tonight, please send more fine grains. These four have all returned from studying abroad, and their health has taken a beating."

Lu Shiyi nodded, Su Jin brought tea and placed it in front of the three of them, and Du Ruo carried Hanhan and went for a walk in the farm.

"Wife, let's go tonight." Lu Shiyi would always bring Su Jin with him. "Grandpa, grandma, let Hanhan stay in your yard for another day. Xiao Jin knows medical skills and can diagnose the pulses of the four old people."

"Xiao Jin, that's what Grandpa meant." Lu Bairen looked at Su Jin. "Your Grandpa Wu and Grandpa Deng are both very capable. The two reference books you translated were secretly brought from abroad by them."

Su Jin nodded: "Grandpa, I will inform you of the physical condition of the four elderly people."

Lu Bairen put down the teacup in his hand, and Old Wei congratulated Lu Bairen on having such a good grandson and granddaughter-in-law.

The young couple accompanied Lu Bairen and Du Ruo for dinner, and then they walked home. Lu Shiyi took the opportunity to check on the patrol.

"Wife, carry the empty bamboo basket and go out to put things near the cowshed." Lu Shiyi carried the bamboo basket on his back and the medicine box on his right side.

There were golden needles and some porcelain bottles in the medicine box. Su Jin was preparing to take care of the four elderly people.

Lu Shiyi and Su Jin were holding flashlights, and he was holding her little hand.

"Follow me and walk slowly over there. Let's observe from a distance from the cowshed. According to grandpa, the Yan family should have a lot of spies here." Lu Shiyi pulled Su Jin to squat down, and the two hid in the bushes not far from the cowshed.

There were indeed two people hiding in a tree at the door of the cowshed. Perhaps because the weather was too cold, both of them jumped down from the tree.

"Ayi, were these two people sent by the Yan family?" Su Jin remembered that Liu Chuchang mentioned that there were spies from the Yan family on the farm, and Wu Jun and Lu Shiyi required everyone on the farm to get a permit before leaving.

The two decided to conceal the arrest on the farm, and the Yan family thought that the spy was living a stable life on the farm.

"Tianshi, let's go back and rest. Who would come to see them in such cold weather?" The Yan family sent four people to keep an eye on the cowshed. If anyone approached the cowshed, they would report back. "I heard that Mr. Lu is here. It would be bad if people from both sides found out."

The Yan family sent the four people here with the intention of sending them abroad after their attention has decreased.

The two of them knew more about the inside story than Tianying and Qimu. They helped the Yan family do this, which was considered treason.
