Chapter 270 Sending Lamb Soup

November arrived and the weather turned colder. The logistics department distributed food in the canteen every week, which was enough for every household to survive for a week. Because Lu Shiyi was not there last time, outsiders broke into the farm.

"Sister-in-law, do you know who broke in that day?" Su Jin had just gotten meat and vegetables from the logistics department when she ran into Yun Feng who was about to go to the logistics department to get more things.

"I'll tell you later. Old Lin said there are some clues." Yun Feng whispered to Su Jin.

Three family members disappeared the day after Lu Shiyi and others returned. Su Jin realized that someone in the farm had leaked the information.

"The people from the Third Brigade were taken away by the police station. They were said to have colluded with foreign forces and killed armed soldiers." Su Jin told Yun Feng sideways, and the two of them passed each other and left.

Su Jin put the meat and vegetables that she asked the logistics department to buy in the small kitchen. There were people living around her, and if she always took things from the space and didn't go out to buy food, she would arouse suspicion.

Before Lu Shiyi went on a mission, he went to the county town specifically to bring Su Jin's food from the space, and also prepared winter clothes and food for Lu Bairen and Du Ruo.

Su Jin stewed mutton and radish soup in the space in the morning. She went into the kitchen and took out an enamel basin. She put half a pot of mutton into it and poured in most of the soup.

She carried the porcelain basin and walked towards the backyard. There were many elderly people living there. When they saw Su Jin coming, they all came to greet her.

"Is this another delicious meal?" Old Wei smelled the scent and sniffed.

"Mr. Wei, this is mutton soup. You and Mr. Song can't eat it. You'd better follow the doctor's orders and eat it." Su Jin looked at the two old men's eyes shining, and she had no choice but to speak up. "Otherwise, you won't be able to eat it next year."

Wei Lao waved his hand: "I'll be obedient, please don't talk nonsense."

The elderly are afraid of the doctors in the outpatient clinic because they have good advice about food. Since most of the elderly have bad stomachs, the doctors ask the canteen to prepare porridge.

"I've been drinking porridge for several days straight. I have no food in my stomach and I keep growling with hunger." Elder Wei spread his hands. "Later, please help me put in a good word with Doctor Wang so that I can resume my diet as soon as possible."

The old people came one after another, and after hearing what Mr. Wei said, they all echoed him.

"Okay, I will definitely help you. You have to listen to the doctor and take care of your stomach first." The old people smelled the delicious food and hurriedly asked Su Jin to leave first.

After Su Jin left, the old people gathered together, envying Lu Bairen for having such a good granddaughter-in-law.

"Which younger generation is so generous to send food to the elderly? I heard that Ayi bought the mutton with Xiaojin's special supply ticket." Old Song explained.

Su Jin stood in front of Lu Bairen's door, saw the gate was wide open, and immediately shouted inside.

"Grandpa, Grandpa, I brought some mutton soup!" Su Jin shouted from the yard.

The family members were not jealous, because Su Jin was already at a height that they looked up to.

When Lu Bairen heard Su Jin's voice, he immediately asked Yang Bo to open the door to the living room.

"Xiao Jin, just have some meat for you and Ayi to eat." Lu Bairen said standing at the door.

"Grandpa, just eat your meal with peace of mind. I'm going to have a meal here with you today. Hanhan is sleeping in the bamboo basket I'm carrying." Before Su Jin went out, he carried a bamboo basket on his back, which was just big enough for Hanhan.

The moment she entered the room, she moved Hanhan out of the bed in the space. The little guy was still sleeping in a daze and didn't notice that he had moved to another place.

"Why did you bring Hanhan with you?" Du Ruo came over. "Don't allow it next time. Hanhan is young, and the weather is getting colder. Even our old bones can't keep him here, let alone Hanhan."

"Grandma, Hanhan hasn't been here for more than ten days. He's bored at home. I wanted to bring him here so that grandpa and grandma can see him." Su Jin likes to bring Hanhan here so that the elderly can participate in the children's growth.

Du Ruo picked up Hanhan from the bamboo basket and saw that he was wrapped in a thick cotton coat.

"It's warm in the room, let Hanhan sleep for a while." Du Ruo looked at the clock on the wall. It was time for a nap.

Lu Bairen came out of the kitchen with a happy look on his face.

"Xiao Jin, you have a lot of mutton. Don't buy it next time. It's better to buy some other meat." Lu Bairen said helplessly.

"Grandpa, Ayi said it's rare to come across this kind of ice. Drinking it in winter can warm you up." Su Jin supported Lu Bairen as he walked into the house. "It didn't snow this winter, so we'll probably have to get ice from the stream."

"When Hanhan was brought here that day, all of you should follow him and help as much as you can." Lu Bairen instructed Su Jin. "Did Ayi tell you who came in that day?"

The next day, Lu Bairen learned that someone had broken in and asked the three to find out who it was.

"Grandpa, Ayi didn't mention this matter when he returned home." Su Jin shook his head, feeling puzzled.

Uncle Yang came in from outside and heard the old man's concern about this matter.

"Grandpa, Shi Yi mentioned it to me two days ago. It's related to the Yan family, but there's no evidence yet." Uncle Yang came in with the cold dishes Aunt Yang had prepared and told Lu Bairen while Su Jin was around, "Shi Yi was worried that you might be emotional, so I told you while Xiao Jin was here."

It turned out that the Yan family had joined forces with people outside and were planning to take away the two elderly couples, Mr. Wu and Mr. Deng. The four people from Qimu couldn't bear it and told Lu Shiyi about it.

Lu Shiyi made proper arrangements, but the news of Su Jin's translation was leaked. The people who came broke into the Lu family's yard and wanted to take Su Jin and her son away. They used Hanhan to threaten Su Jin to help with the work.

"Is it someone from the Yan family?" Lu Bairen said with a gloomy face. He reached out to pick up the teacup and drink from it. "What is Old Yan trying to do? He can't control the children, and he doesn't follow the orders of the old leader. The Yan family will have no future in the future."

This was the first time Su Jin heard Lu Bairen's words. Before, Lu Shiyi always said that as long as Grandpa could stay stable, the family would be peaceful. If they could spend this period of time peacefully, the future would be better.

"Grandpa, calm down first. No matter how much you say now, they won't be able to hear you." Su Jin placed the mutton soup in front of Lu Bairen. "I've been making this since morning. It's good for warming up on cold days. Take care of yourself. Ayi and the others can come and see you."

Lu Bairen sighed, "That's true. Ayi is now able to handle things on his own. I used to always think about taking care of Ayi, but this time, I feel like I can retire and enjoy my old age."

After hearing what Lu Bairen said, Su Jin stood up and served him two bowls of rice.

"Let's try Xiaojin's cooking today." Lu Bairen praised.

After drinking a bowl of mutton soup, I felt warm all over.

Uncle Yang and Aunt Yang often worked in the yard and felt the cold outside.

"Xiao Jin's cooking skills are getting better and better. Grandpa can eat more." Uncle Yang persuaded as he served Lu Bairen some soup. "Grandpa's appetite has improved a lot today."

"Grandpa likes it. I'll make it in a few days. We have plenty of mutton at home." Su Jin smiled.
