Chapter 326 The Lost Translation Manuscript

At the end of May, the weather was hot. This year, like last summer, there was very little rainfall. Mr. Wei arranged three water trucks in advance to pump water from the mountains to irrigate the fields, and the water in the farmland was still good.

Lu Shiyi was sitting in the office, holding a red-headed phone in his right hand, and was talking to his superiors.

Su Jin finished translating a book four days ago, and GA sent someone to pick it up. However, he hasn't returned to the capital yet, and the people above called to inquire about him.

After hearing the call, Lu Shiyi's heart skipped a beat. The person sent by GA this time was a newcomer, not the usual team member who picked up books.

"Commander, Liu Chuchang personally bought the train ticket for the farm we left four days ago. He should have arrived in the imperial capital by now," Lu Shiyi said firmly. "My wife was poisoned twice while translating the book this time."

Su Jin followed the instructions in the document bag and did not tell her family about the contents. The family of three lived at home with the door closed. Except for the food purchased by the logistics department, the rest of the food they ate was vegetables grown at home.

The rice and meat delivered by the logistics department were added with potassium cyanide twice.

If it weren't for Su Jin's excellent medical skills, the three of them would have probably been poisoned to death.

There was silence on the other end of the phone. Elder Hua knew that this book could bring danger, and even the elders revealed their identities to help Su Jin divert some attention.

Unexpectedly, something went wrong in the last stage, and the team member who went to retrieve the book is now missing, with no one knowing whether they were alive or dead.

"I'll arrange for someone to come to your location from the imperial capital. Could you please ask Comrade Su Jin to translate another copy?" the leader pleaded. "This book is needed in the southwest."

Su Jin leaned over the receiver and listened, then took the phone from Lu Shiyi.

"Chief, the books have been taken away. Please arrange for someone you trust to deliver them again and have them wait at the farm. I will translate them and send them back to the capital immediately." Su Jin discussed with his superiors.

A copy of each book sent over will be made as an archive.

"Okay!" Elder Hua agreed. "Let the elder stay over there. I estimate that your safety will be greatly threatened after this translation."

Su Jin's translation talent has been exposed, and it is estimated that there will be a lot of trouble. Now, the capital has just cleared out some traps and the masterminds behind them, so there is no guarantee that some people will not have bad intentions.

After hanging up the phone, Su Jin looked at Lu Shiyi. Hanhan was playing with his building blocks nearby, curious why his parents didn't say anything.

"Ayi, do you think I've gone too far?" Su Jin was worried about the safety of the father and son. The meals for the family of three were all produced by the space, and those prepared outside were put into the space.

"It's not excessive. You're doing this for the good of the country," Lu Shiyi stood firmly beside Su Jin. "The drought is severe now. I can't always be by your side. I guess I need to bring someone here this time!"

"Commander Wu and Political Commissar Lin won't assign you any more missions. Maybe they want you to ensure my safety?" Su Jin noticed that Lu Shiyi spent more time on the farm and knew it was an arrangement from above.

"After discussion between Mr. Hua and the elders, it was decided that the two squadron leaders, Lin Zitao and Shenjian, would take turns on missions. The safety of the farm will be under the care of Captain Wu. I only need to protect the elders and you!" When Lu Shiyi had that meeting, he did not expect that Su Jin's safety would be raised to the same level as the elders.

Su Jin smiled slightly: "I know you want to go on a mission, just wait until I finish translating the book!"

Lu Shiyi smiled bitterly and shook his head. Su Jin underestimated his identity.

Translating four of the most advanced foreign language books in one year is absolutely outstanding among domestic translators.

"Wife, unless there is an important task, I will always be by your side. If you translate a few more books, I will probably be responsible for your meals!" This is the most outstanding translation talent Lu Shiyi has ever seen.

Not only are they not free to go out, but even eating and visiting family members are strictly protected.

Su Jin's condition has become increasingly serious. The higher-ups have issued three official documents regarding her safety, and Wu Jun and Lin Zitao have both asked him to be more vigilant.

When potassium cyanide was found in the Lu family's food, Lin Zitao's face turned pale. He immediately went to check his own things. Tests revealed that the food he bought together with the Lu family contained more or less potassium cyanide.

After the incident, outpatient and logistics staff became more vigilant. Every time supplies were delivered, samples would be taken for testing to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

When the news that the elders were living on the farm spread, many villagers gathered at the farm gate, hoping that the elders could help them solve their food problem.

This year, drought hit again after spring plowing, and it rained a lot south of the Yangtze River. Floods occurred in some places. When Su Jin learned about the situation, he sighed, "Those who are drought-stricken will die of drought, and those who are flood-stricken will die of floods."

Early in the morning, Su Jin took the seedlings and met Liu Yunshan and Yunfeng in front of each family's private plot.

"Xiao Jin, has anyone come from above?" Liu Yunshan and Yunfeng also participated in the follow-up investigation because of the drugged food they took.

"The people above haven't come yet, and the missing team members haven't been found. It's rare to have free time these days. Otherwise, I wouldn't even be able to grow vegetables in my private plot." Su Jin shook his head helplessly, "We can't even buy vegetables at home."

"Your work is more important than ours. Don't you see that even Lao Lin and the others are protecting you?" Yunfeng is a teacher. When she heard Lin Zitao talking about Su Jin's work, Yunfeng admired him from the bottom of her heart.

Ever since Lu Shiyi got married, Su Jin has been staying obediently in the family compound. Occasionally, one or two manuscript fee invoices from the newspaper would come in.

"Xiao Jin, go back and tell Hanhan not to go to the river. Lin Lei and Lin Yan have advised Hanhan several times." Yun Feng reminded Su Jin.
