Chapter 93: The Easy One

Shen Nanqing noticed the movement and looked up at those people. When their eyes met, those people were like frightened birds, and they grabbed the items on the shelf in a panic.

In the chaos, someone bumped into the shelf, and the goods on the shelf were scattered all over the floor, making a dull and harsh sound. Several people were so scared that they ran out quickly.

Shen Nanqing looked at the farce, frowned slightly, turned to look at Song Huaiwen and asked: "Am I that scared? As for being scared like that."

Song Huaiwen glanced outside the door with a cold gaze and shook his head, "Not scary."

When the two came out of the supply and marketing cooperative, they returned with a full load.

In addition to the complete furniture, the house was lacking pots and pans, firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea. Fortunately, the supply and marketing cooperative was large enough, and most of the items on the list were purchased. The ones that were missing can be replenished later.

The salty sea breeze swept through the coconut grove, rustling the broad leaves and casting mottled shadows all over the ground.

The two of them were carrying their things and walking home, but they didn't expect to run into the girls they saw at the supply and marketing cooperative halfway.

They seemed to be waiting here on purpose.

A girl who looked very timid was pushed out. She pulled the hem of her clothes with both hands, not daring to look at Shen Nanqing at all. She turned her head and begged for mercy to her sisters. The leading woman glared at her, and she could only approach Shen Nanqing tremblingly.

She stood half a meter away from Shen Nanqing and asked haltingly, "Excuse me...are you Shen Nanqing?"

Ana Shen raised her eyebrows, but did not answer and looked behind her.

The leading woman was wearing a blue dacron shirt with a small pearl brooch pinned to her collar. The workmanship was very delicate. Her outfit looked out of place among the others who were wearing plain clothes.

Shen Nanqing walked straight towards the woman and asked, "Do you know me?"

The woman looked at Shen Nanqing with a critical look, showing disdain. She was about to say something, but when she saw Song Huaiwen behind Shen Nanqing, her momentum was instantly gone, and she said with her neck stiff, "That's all. Let's wait and see."

After saying that, she turned around and walked away. Her steps were so hurried and chaotic that if you didn't know, you would think something was chasing her.

Ana Shen really felt baffled.

She asked again: "You really don't know her?"

Song Huaiwen shook his head. When the woman provoked him, he tried hard to recall in his mind that he was sure he didn't know her. If he did, he would definitely take action...

"Forget it! Ignore her." Shen Nanqing was speechless. She didn't know why the woman was hostile to her, but it was obvious that she was afraid of Song Huaiwen.

She believes that she is not the one who takes the initiative to cause trouble, but she is definitely not a soft persimmon that can be easily manipulated. She will deal with it as it comes!

Song Huaiwen glanced in the direction where the few people disappeared, his eyes heavy, thinking about checking the other party's identity later.

From a distance, they saw two children guarding their door.

Ana Shen asked: “Who are they and why are they at our doorstep?”

Song Huaiwen took a closer look and said with a smile, "Those are the two sons of our regiment's political commissar Li Quan. The older one is called Li Heng, the younger one is Li Shui, and they have a younger sister named Li Qiong. I guess their family asked them to come and deliver something."

Li Heng has a chubby build and runs outside all day, so his skin is tanned and his big eyes are bright and lively.

Seeing Song Huaiwen coming over, he quickly got up from the ground, patted the dust off his body, pointed at the basket on the ground and said, "Uncle Song, you are finally back. My mother asked me to bring you some food, and also asked you and..."

When he said this, his eyes fell on Shen Nanqing behind Song Huaiwen. He was stunned for a long time and stuttered, "Big, big sister, my mother said, please come to my house for dinner tonight."

Song Huaiwen was a little concerned because he was 10 years older than Shen Nanqing. This little brat was treating him differently.

He raised his eyebrows and rubbed the child's head, and said jokingly: "Li Heng, how come I am the uncle and she is the elder sister, am I that old?"

Li Heng stole a glance at Ana Shen and muttered, "She is beautiful, like a fairy walking out of a picture magazine, and fairies are all sisters."

"Brother, I'm wrong." Li Shui raised his little face covered with grass debris, his eyes watery, and said innocently, "When we went out, mom told me to call you aunt when I saw you."

These words obviously pleased Song Huaiwen. He stretched out his hand and pinched the child's chubby face, with a smile on his face, "Xiao Shui is still sensible."

"How old are you? You're still arguing with children." Shen Nanqing smiled helplessly. She stepped forward to open the door with the key and greeted the two children, "You must have been waiting for a long time! Come in, auntie will give you some candy."

As soon as the words fell, the two children's eyes suddenly became bright.

But when he was about to take the candy, Li Shui hesitated, and his face turned red. "Aunt, my mother said that I can't eat anything from my house casually."

Li Heng was a big man, he reached out and patted his brother on the back of his head: "Silly! Mom said not to eat strangers' food, sister is not a stranger!"

"It's aunt, not sister." Song Huaiwen corrected seriously.

Li Heng was obviously not afraid of Song Huaiwen, so she ignored him and took the candy handed to her by Ana Shen, smiling with curved eyebrows, "Beautiful sister, don't marry Uncle Song as your wife, marry me! I will definitely marry you when I grow up."

After saying that, he seemed to expect Song Huaiwen to be unhappy, so he ran away. As he ran to the door, he did not forget to make faces at Song Huaiwen.

"You little brat, I think you're itching for trouble again!" Song Huaiwen was so angry that he laughed. He never thought that he would meet a love rival as soon as he arrived on the island, and the other party was actually a ten-year-old kid.

Seeing that his brother had disappeared, Li Shui became anxious. He stuffed the candies into his pocket, said thank you, and quickly chased after him.

He ran and shouted, "Brother, wait for me."

The childish words of the two children eliminated all the unpleasantness that Shen Nanqing had just encountered.

The sea breeze carried the scent of coconuts past her ears. She curved her eyebrows and tilted her head to look at Song Huaiwen who was cleaning the pots and pans, smiling: "Tell me, if we have children in the future, do you want a boy or a girl?"

Song Huaiwen paused, the dishes in his hands made a crisp sound, and he chuckled with his Adam's apple rolling, "Girls! Girls are well-behaved and cute, like you, while boys are too naughty."

He added silently in his heart, "Boys will only steal your attention from me, which is not good at all."

Girls are different. Daughters are always warm and caring.

“I like girls, too,” Ana Shen echoed.

After two days of tidying up, the house finally had some life. Song Huaiwen cooked lunch. After lunch, the two took a nap and spent the afternoon tidying up the yard.

The yard is very big. Shen Nanqing grows some flowers, plants and fruit trees in the front yard, and grows vegetables in the back yard.

With Song Huaiwen as the laborer, he didn't let Shen Nanqing do any hard work at all. She just had to sow seeds and water the plowed land.

The setting sun dyed the sky orange, and smoke rose from the fishing village in the distance.

There is no reason to visit someone empty-handed. I originally wanted to take some Yandu specialties, but the things are still on the way to the mail.

Shen Nanqing grabbed some snacks and fruits and asked Song Huaiwen to carry them out. When the two entered Li Wanquan's house, they were shocked by what was inside.
