Chapter 34 Buying Food (2/2)

"My sister-in-law is in confinement after giving birth, so my mother asked me to go out and buy some fine grains for her."

The aunt smiled warmly and said mysteriously:

"Your mother is so good to her daughter-in-law."

"That's easy!"

"If you want to buy fine grains, go to Yang Laosan. He has flour, cornmeal and everything else."

"It's the third house in that alley. Go knock on the door."

Xu Wanning walked along the alley to the gate of the courtyard that the aunt pointed to and knocked on the door.

“Boom boom boom…”

The door opened and a tall and strong middle-aged man in his forties came out, staring at her with a serious expression.

"What do you do?"

Xu Wanning asked in a low voice:

"Uncle, I want to buy some food."

“I heard you can buy it here.”

Yang Laosan breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this and opened the door to let her in.

"Come in!"

"Tell me, what kind of food do you want?"

Xu Wanning thought about it and decided to just buy some rice and refined flour to alternate between.

"Uncle, I want to buy some refined flour and rice. Do you have any?"

Yang Laosan found it funny when he heard that. He turned around and carried out a bag of rice and a bag of flour from the house to show her.

"Little girl, I'm not bragging, but the things I have here are more complete than those in the supply and marketing cooperatives."

"It's just a little more expensive, but the quality is better than the ones in the supply and marketing cooperatives!"

"Fresh flour is 20 cents a pound, and rice is 28 cents a pound."

"How much do you want, little girl?"

Xu Wanning planned to buy more refined flour and rice to stockpile. Anyway, the thatched house in her space had a preservation function, so they would not go bad no matter how long they were kept.

"Uncle, please give me 200 kilograms of flour and 300 kilograms of rice."

Yang Laosan looked at the little girl in front of him in surprise. He didn't expect that she looked at him in the eye. He thought he was just going to buy a few kilograms of grain, but she asked for hundreds of kilograms of fine grain.

"Two hundred kilograms of flour is forty yuan, three hundred kilograms of rice is eighty-four yuan, and one ton is one hundred and fourteen yuan."

Xu Wanning took out one hundred and fourteen yuan from her schoolbag and handed it over.

Yang Laosan happily took the money and counted it. He didn't expect to make such a big deal today.

"Little girl, do you think I should deliver these hundreds of kilograms of food to you, or do you want to come and get it yourself?"

Xu Wanning finally borrowed Yang Laosan's cart and pulled it herself. She didn't dare to ask someone to take her to the village.

I could only pull it to an empty alley and transfer all the rice and flour into the space.

After putting everything away, Xu Wanning dragged the cart back to Yang Laosan again. She wanted to ask Yang Laosan if he would accept wild boar meat.

"Uncle, do you accept wild boar meat?"

When Yang Laosan heard about wild boar meat, he thought that business was coming again, and he quickly confirmed happily:

"Wild boar meat?"

"Can you get wild boar?"

"Pork is a hot commodity. The supply at the supply and marketing cooperatives is limited."

"I'll take whatever I have."

"Little girl, if you have any, please send them to me!"

"I'll give you a higher price, two yuan and thirty cents per pound. What do you think?"

Xu Wanning remembered that the pork she bought on the black market last time was 2.5 yuan per catty, and 2.3 yuan per catty was not a low price. She still had so many wild boars in her space that had not been killed, and she was having a headache about how to sell them all. There were plenty of wild boars on the mountain anyway.
