Chapter 196 Snail 03

Yu Rujia: "We've collected a lot of snails. You can eat as many as you want, and we can collect more when we're done."

Erdan said indignantly, "I knew those people were talking nonsense. Just because they don't know how to eat it doesn't mean others can't make it. No one has known how to make Ai Ye Chang Shan for so long, but Aunt Yu's jelly is just as delicious. Humph."

Yu Rujia knew that her conversation with the passing team member had been overheard by others. After all, they were more than ten meters apart and hadn't lowered their voices when they spoke, so people dozens of meters away could hear them.

She doesn't care about being talked about like that, and she can't care. People can say whatever they want, and she can't possibly confront everyone who says it.

I never expected Erdan and his friends to be so angry, and they even came all the way here to see.

When Gao Guojing and the others had almost finished cutting the snails, Yu Rujia boiled a pot of water and brought it out.

Yu Rujia: "Guojing took out the snails that had been cut and washed them several times. The remaining snails that hadn't been cut were scalded in boiling water. We picked out some snail meat to stir-fry and eat."

Upon hearing this, Gao Guojing put down his tools and poured all the uncut snails into boiling water.

Seeing that the snails had opened up from the heat, Yu Rujia used a slotted spoon to scoop a few snails out of the water and then used a homemade wooden skewer to teach Duofu how to pick out the snail meat.

Yu Rujia: "...Pick out the meat like this, discard the part at the back, and keep only the part at the front. The water is very hot, so don't put your hands directly into it to take the snails. Use a strainer to scoop them up and then take them."

Erdan and the others, who hadn't been of much use when cutting off the snail tails, found their talents in picking out the snail meat, and all pitched in to help.

Yu Rujia watched them for a while, and only got up to prepare the spices for stir-frying the snails when the water temperature wasn't so hot anymore.

After Gao Guojing cleaned the snails and cut off their tails, Yu Rujia stood beside him and instructed him on how to cook them.

Many hands make light work; before they could even finish cooking the snails, a group of children outside had already picked out all the remaining snails.

Although you can't get even one bowl of meat from three bowls of snails, the quantity is huge, and the snails are big. The snail meat they picked out filled a small basin, which looked like it weighed several pounds. They could cook it in portions for two meals.

The problem is that his family is too large. Several kilograms of snail meat that would last several days in other people's homes would only last two or three meals in his family.

Amidst the children's anticipation, the fragrant and flavorful stir-fried snails were served. The irresistible aroma assaulted everyone's taste buds, and the sound of slurping filled the air.

Yu Rujia took out a small wooden skewer and demonstrated for everyone: "...Just eat this part. Once you've picked up the snail, don't touch your face, and especially don't touch your eyes."

"You know how it feels when something gets in your eye, right? It hurts even more if you touch your eye after eating snails, so please don't touch them."

Erdan stared intently at the snails, swallowing hard, and said without blinking, "Don't worry, Aunt Yu, we definitely won't touch their eyes."

Duolu, the little foodie, was practically drooling. He skillfully sucked the drool back in and asked, "Auntie, can we eat now?"

Yu Rujia: "Eat."

A group of people reached their hands into the basin, some hands clashing together, but they quickly separated and swiftly and accurately attacked their target.

Duoxi was small and her hands were too small to pick out the snail meat. Seeing that the older brothers and adults around her were eating while she couldn't, she didn't care about picking it out and just stuffed the snails in their shells into her mouth.

Yu Rujia finished teaching everyone and turned around to see this scene. She quickly walked up to the little guy and put a hand to his mouth: "Duoxi, spit it out quickly, Auntie will pick out some meat for you to eat."

Duoxi licked the delicious snail in her mouth, reluctant to spit it out. Under Yu Rujia's gaze, she took a few more sips before reluctantly spitting the snail into Yu Rujia's hand.

The little boy then tried to act innocent, saying, "Auntie, I didn't bite."

He would have bitten her if Yu Rujia hadn't stopped him in time.

Yu Rujia glared at him: "If you're reckless like this again, I won't let you eat."

Duo Xi grinned foolishly, trying to get away with it.

Gao Shujing, who had been called over by Duofu to eat snails, knew what was going on as soon as he entered the door. He picked up the chubby little guy and said, "Here, Uncle will give you some."

Duoxi grinned and softly called out "Uncle." Being somewhat sensible, he didn't touch Gao Shujing with the hand that had just held the snail.

Yu Rujia took a damp cloth and wiped the little guy's paws clean, lest he accidentally forget and smear the oil stains on Gao Shujing's clothes.

Seeing the uncles and brothers around her happily eating, Duo Xi was overjoyed and urged, "Uncle, hurry up, it's almost gone."

Gao Shujing sat down on the stool, adjusted the position of Duoxi in his arms, and reached into the basin to scoop up a snail: "Here it comes."

Once he finally got to eat the snails, Duoxi calmed down, his big eyes fixed on Gao Shujing's hand. As soon as Gao Shujing picked out the meat, Duoxi stretched his neck to reach for it.

Little Duoxi was quick and ruthless for his age, so much so that Gao Shujing didn't even have a chance to eat one. It was Yu Rujia who couldn't stand it and stuffed a few into his mouth.

The already delicious snails were being fed to Gao Shujing by his sweetheart, and his smile grew even wider. Seeing his worthless smile, Duofu, who was standing to the side, inexplicably felt a little full.

The little guy glanced at the snails in front of him, thought he could still eat them, and rejoined the snail-grabbing crowd.

Duo Xi probably realized that he had eaten too much. When Gao Shujing fed him snail meat again, he pushed his arm with his chubby little hand, his eyes flashing with reluctance, but he still said firmly, "Uncle, eat."

Gao Shujing felt both happy and regretful. He was happy that the little guy was a sensible and filial child, but he was regretful that the little guy had given him the snail meat, so he would never have the chance to eat the snail meat that his sweetheart fed him.

Despite thinking this way, Gao Shujing still fed the snail meat to Duoxi, saying, "You eat this, and Uncle will have the next one."

Duoxi learned to be modest, and Gao Shujing then picked out one snail for each of them. The uncle and nephew ate with great relish.

It was the first time everyone had tasted such a fresh flavor, and even the usually composed and well-fed Duofu couldn't resist and started grabbing the food. No one had time to talk; they just kept eating.

The snails in the basin disappeared at a visible speed. There was no way around it; there were eight children and three adults here, eleven people in total. If each person ate one, half a pound of snails would be gone.

Even two-year-old Duoshou and Duolu handled snails with remarkable smoothness, their chubby little fingers not hindering their ability to grasp small wooden skewers.

A large bowl of snails was eaten up in less than half an hour.

Dog Egg's eyes darted around, and he reached out to pick up the basin: "I'll go wash the basin."

Erdan added, "I'll go wash with you."

Gao Shujing stretched out his arms, letting Duoxi slide down his lap to play with the dolls.
