Chapter 330 The Person Both Wei and Han Are Looking For

Wei Han immediately called out excitedly, "Big Brother!" which startled Wei Jianqiang: "Brother, just say what you want to say. If it's something I can do, I'll definitely do it for you. There's no need for this."

Gao Shujing, who came over to deliver an order and check on the brick kiln, witnessed this scene. He knew that Wei Han was looking for someone, but he didn't expect that the person he was looking for would be Wei Jianqiang.

Although the two share the same surname, they look different, and Gao Shujing has never put them together.

Gao Shujing: "The workers here still have things to do. If you have something to say, let's find another place to talk. Don't disturb the workers' work."

Wei Han glanced around and saw that many workers had slowed down their work and were observing them.

Wei Hanjie composed himself and said to Wei Jianqiang, "Could you please come to my house for a while? I have something I'd like to tell you."

Wei Jianqiang didn't immediately agree. He needed to process the fact that someone he had just met had suddenly called him "Big Brother."

Wei Han understood his concerns and said, "I'd like to trouble you to come along, Officer Gao, or I can go to Officer Gao's house."

Wei Jianqiang immediately said, "Let's go to Officer Gao's house."

The two followed Gao Shujing home, and Wei Hanjie explained his purpose for coming to the countryside.

Wei Hanjie's parents were both soldiers. Not long after Wei Jianqiang was born, his parents had to go to the front line and could not take him with them, so they entrusted him to their uncle, Wei Ertong, to raise.

When they left, they left most of their savings to Wei Ertong, enough for Wei Jianqiang to live on for the rest of his life.

Years later, when the war ended and Wei Jianqiang's parents came to pick him up, Wei's second uncle's family had already disappeared.

Due to their tight schedule, they could only ask someone to help them find Wei Jianqiang, and they returned to their work unit first.

However, the person searching for Wei Jianqiang died in an accident not long afterward, and the trail went cold again.

Because they had been away from home for many years, the couple had lost most of their connections in the area. They also had to put their search on hold because they couldn't get away from their work.

Wei's parents were unwilling to give up, so after Wei Hanjie graduated from high school, they arranged for him to go to the countryside to come here to find someone.

He took the information given to him by Wei's father and came to Dongyuan Commune to find Wei Ertong. However, more than 20 years had passed, and the names of many brigades in the countryside had long been changed.

Even Wei Ertong himself changed his name to Wei Aiguo because of the trend.

The information given by Wei's father was of no use, and Wei Hanjie's search for people on his own was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Several months passed, and there was still no progress.

Just when Wei Han was about to give up hope of finding his relatives, Wei Jianqiang, whom he had been searching for, appeared in front of him.

Once the matter was out in the open, Wei Han was eager to find out everything about Wei Jianqiang so he could write a letter to Wei's father. He asked Captain Huang for leave, and the two of them went to town together.

Yu Rujia, who had listened to the whole thing, said, "So Comrade Wei isn't his biological son. No wonder his mother didn't care about Xiao Jie and her grandson's lives, just to get a job for her own daughter."

She witnessed firsthand at the hospital how Wei Jianqiang's so-called mother deliberately caused trouble in order to free up a job for her daughter, wishing Guo Xiaojie would just die.

Gao Shujing: "If this is true, Comrade Wei can be said to have finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel."

Yu Rujia: "Wei Jianqiang and his parents did not give up on him and kept sending people to look for him. But fate played a trick on them, and they were separated for more than 20 years."

Gao Shujing chuckled and said, "Their family was able to reunite thanks to you. If you hadn't suggested that they buy a house, change houses, and build a new house, Comrade Wei wouldn't have come to check on the progress of the bricklaying and delivered himself to Wei Zhiqing."

Yu Rujia thought about it and realized it was true: "I didn't mean for it to turn out this way."

A few days after the Lantern Festival, primary school started, and Duofu's four older children resumed their daily school days.

Duole is still a little unsteady on his feet. After seeing his older brother leave, the little guy didn't want to stay at home and insisted on going out for a walk with him.

Dorje couldn't refuse him, so he took him and the two big dogs out together.

Little Duole's legs were weak, and after only a few steps, he didn't want to walk anymore. He insisted on putting the steamed bun on top of him and riding on it.

Mantou felt very wronged. It was willing to carry its little master, but every time the little master rode it, he would pull on its fur, which hurt so much.

However, since the little master wanted to ride it, Mantou had no choice but to go along with his wishes.

Duole rode on the back of the big dog as he wished, holding the fur of the steamed bun in his hand, and followed Dorje's friends around with his head held high.

When we got back, a piece of mold had fallen off the steamed bun.

Gao Shujing felt that if things continued like this, the steamed buns and mantou would soon become bald dogs.

So I made two simple saddles, skipping many details, and just tied a leather rope around the base of the two dogs' front legs and attached a buckle to it so that Du Le could hold onto the buckle when riding the dogs.

It can stabilize Dole's small body without hurting the two dogs.

With easy-to-grab buttons, there was no need to grab the short dog hair anymore. Duole was so happy that he rode on Huajuan Mantou's back and wouldn't get off. Even Duoji would sometimes be envious and ride on it for a bit. The two brothers became the coolest kids in the brigade.

It's one thing when they're outside, but Du Le is unsteady on his feet and needs a ride. However, Yu Rujia couldn't stand seeing the two little ones still trying to use the dog for transportation at home.

Yu Rujia: "Duoji and Duole can't ride on the steamed buns all the time, they'll be uncomfortable. When we get home, let them rest for a while."

Du Le Wu's big, bright eyes swept over Hua Juan and Man Tou, then he stretched out his chubby little hands and pointed at the two dogs.

Du Le said in a soft, sweet voice, "I rode Juan Juan, I rode Tou Tou, I didn't ride, I didn't ride."

This means he was taking turns riding the dogs, and wasn't riding the same dog all the time.

Yu Rujia: "It's not good to ride them in turns either. The steamed buns will get tired and need more time to rest."

Huajuan and Mantou are much stronger than the average dog, weighing around 80 or 90 pounds, but Duole is an overweight little dumpling, weighing almost 30 pounds at just over a year old.

Besides Dorje, Dorje also rides dogs, which makes him even heavier, almost 40 pounds.

Even though I kept riding on the dogs' backs, taking turns, both dogs got exhausted.

Dorje, being older and more sensible, felt a little embarrassed after Yu Rujia's words and said, "Mom, I'll ride the steamed buns less often in the future, and I'll also keep an eye on Dorje and make sure he doesn't ride them all the time."

Yu Rujia rubbed his little head and praised him, "That's a good boy. I'll leave the steamed buns and mantou to you."

Seeing her older brother receive praise and a pat on the head, Duo Le, not to be outdone, nuzzled her head against Yu Rujia's palm and said in a soft, sweet voice, "No, no, Lele is good."

Yu Rujia granted his wish, patted the little guy, and praised him a few times. The little dumpling then grinned, revealing two rows of tiny teeth, and followed his older brother to play in the backyard.
