Chapter 456 Jia Ruifang Appears 04

Back home, Dorje Dorje processed the wild game, because in this weather, meat would spoil if left outside overnight.

The meat must be processed and placed in an ice bucket; as for braising, that will have to wait until tomorrow.

After breakfast, we start braising the meat, and then take it out to sell at four o'clock in the afternoon, which is just right.

Yu Rujia and Duoshou were processing mugwort leaves with two little kids, Duole and Duoyi.

When the doorbell rang, a group of people were busy at work.

The Xia family members went to work or did business, and Xia Yuanqiang went out to visit old friends, leaving only Yu Rujia and a group of children at home.

Yu Rujia: "Duole, go and see who it is."

Duole responded, put down the mugwort in his hand, and skipped outside.

When Duole opened the door, he saw Jia Ruifang waiting there. He recognized her; she was the wicked woman who had upset his second and third brothers.

The seven or eight-year-old boy stared wide-eyed at the person at the door: "You bad woman, how dare you come to my house? Get out of here right now, or I'll hit you."

Jia Ruifang said unhappily, "Whose child are you? How can you be so rude? This is my son's house. I can come and go as I please."

Duole spat at her. The little guy was tiny, but he had quite the presence.

Duole retorted sharply, "Weren't you afraid your son would drag you down, so you abandoned them when they were just over a year old? You didn't care whether they lived or died, so how dare you come back looking for them?"

"If I were you, I would tuck my tail between my legs and hide in a dark corner, lest someone drown you in their mouth."

The two made a bit too much noise at the door, which was heard by the people inside who were processing meat. Duolu's eyes were blazing with anger. He put down the meat, washed his hands, and quickly went out.

He never wanted to acknowledge this woman. His father also said to just pretend she didn't exist and not to pay any attention to her; he would handle everything himself.

Unexpectedly, his father was so slow in his actions that this person actually came knocking on their door.

A fierce glint flashed in Duoxi's eyes. He got up, casually washed his hands a few times, and decisively followed Duolu out. If his second brother couldn't handle it, he wouldn't mind beating the man up and throwing him out.

When Duolu went outside, he saw Jia Ruifang looking at Duole with disgust, as if he wanted to devour him.

The little guy stood guard at the door, facing her without flinching. His small figure exuded an aura of invincibility, like a lone warrior holding the pass against a thousand men.

Duolu strode forward and pulled Duole behind him, blocking Jia Ruifang's view.

When one of her two sons came out, Jia Ruifang put on a kind expression.

Jia Ruifang: "It's been more than ten years since I last saw you all. I didn't expect you to have grown so much. I'm relieved to know you're all doing well. Do you have more fortune or more longevity?"

Dorjee coldly said, "I can be anyone, but I will never be your son. You leave my house now, or I can't guarantee I won't be unable to resist hitting you."

Jia Ruifang's smile vanished, and she questioned him with righteous indignation: "Is this how the Xia family teaches you to treat your own mother?"

"I had no choice but to leave you back then. If I hadn't left, I would have died like your aunt. Do you want me to die?"

“You are doing well now, why do you still remember those old grievances? There is no grudge between a mother and son that lasts overnight. You are my child, and it is your duty to be filial to me.”

Doro's fist clenched, but a hand stopped him; it was Doki.

Duoxi: "Second brother, let me deal with this kind of person. Don't dirty your hands."

Thirteen-year-old Duoxi already understands some of the ways of the world. If Duolu were to personally beat Jia Ruifang, his mother, no matter the reason, outsiders would point fingers at Duolu.

Duoxi stopped Duolu and punched Jia Ruifang in the face.

Jia Ruifang felt a sharp pain in her cheek from the sudden punch, but Duoxi's actions did not stop there; he hit her several more times.

Jia Ruifang curled up like a shrimp in pain, her body covered in several wounds. Faced with the relentless punches and her indifferent son, a sense of fear welled up inside her.

When Yu Rujia and Duoshou came out, Jia Ruifang had already been beaten like a dead dog.

Yu Rujia stopped Duoxi from hitting him and said calmly to Jia Ruifang on the ground, "Remember this pain. If you dare to bother Duolu Duoshou again in the future, it won't just be this pain."

A trickle of blood flowed from the corner of Jia Ruifang's mouth as she glared at her resentfully: "You are Yu Rujia. You reported the Xia family back then. What right do you have to talk about me?"

"The Xia family can overlook your actions and take you in. I'm just getting a divorce from Xia Jingfan, which is much less serious than what you did. Why should they see me as an enemy?"

Duo Shou calmly said, "It's because you abandoned us back then that our aunt adopted us, which is why we're alive today. Everything the Xia family has is thanks to her."

"You'd better not wear down my patience, or my methods will only be more appealing than Duoxi's."

The aunt and niece stared at Jia Ruifang with either indifference or hostility. The pain in her body reminded her that staying here to argue with them would not end well.

Jia Ruifang had no choice but to leave unwillingly.

Yu Rujia led the children into the house, nodding at Duoxi's head with a look of exasperation.

Yu Rujia: "Didn't I say you can't just hit people? Why did you hit them again?"

Insults are one thing, but the person who strikes first will always suffer some consequences.

Jia Ruifang came to the door with ill intentions. I didn't want to talk to her, so I just locked the door from the inside. She couldn't exactly break down the door and run in.

The rest can be handled by Xia Jingfan.

Even if Xia Jingfan couldn't handle it, there were other elders who could; why resort to physical violence?

If Jia Ruifang gets angry and goes to the bureau to complain about Duoxi, that kid will suffer a lot of injustice.

Duoxi's face tightened as she said, "I didn't hit anyone randomly. She insulted our family first, so I hit her. She deserved to be hit."

Duolu: "Auntie, it was me who wanted to hit someone, but Duoxi didn't want to make things difficult for me, so she stepped in to help me. If you want to punish someone, punish me."

These two always act faster than they think, which gives Yu Rujia a real headache.

Yu Rujia: "You need to understand that in the outside world, having the strongest fist doesn't necessarily mean you're right. No matter what, the person who strikes first is always in the wrong."

“If you’re still angry, you can secretly put a sack over someone’s head and beat them up. As long as you don’t kill or cripple them and no one finds out, it’ll be easier to talk to them.”

“By brazenly assaulting someone in front of your own home, aren’t you giving her ammunition? If she goes to the police station to report you, you’ll be in big trouble. It’s not worth suffering for such a bad person.”

Duo Xi then realized what was happening, her eyes widening in disbelief. "Oh no, what do we do now? Did anyone see me hitting someone?" she asked, dumbfounded.
