Due to his limited circumstances, the old commander's understanding of Yu Rujia was limited to the Shangfen Brigade. However, he knew that Yu Rujia had come from the capital, which was also his destination. He believed that once he got there, he might be able to learn more about Yu Rujia's background.
Judging from the information gathered from the surrounding area, Yu Rujia has been working diligently and has received much praise since arriving at the Shangfen Brigade. She has saved him again this time. If Yu Rujia has any unspeakable difficulties, he would not mind helping her out as long as it does not violate his principles.
Thinking of the people and events in the capital, the old leader sighed imperceptibly. After only a few years of good life, some people couldn't wait to jump out and cause trouble, wanting to repeat the same mistakes.
They didn't want him to go back, but he insisted on going back to fight them to the bitter end.
Even if it costs him his life, he will fight to stop their conspiracy and create a better future for the innocent victims.
Another week passed, and the old leader's health had almost recovered. Eager to return to his new post, he left the clinic without waiting any longer.
Yu Rujia and Dean Zhong were released a day after the old leader left.
Shangfen Brigade
It was time to distribute candy again, and the older children of the Yu family gathered around Duole.
Under the watchful eyes of his older brothers, the little guy opened the tin box, and his eyes welled up with tears as he looked at the meager amount of peanut nougat inside.
It's been about ten days since the last time we delivered candy. There are many children in the family, and each of them gets two pieces of candy. That means we've gone through more than ten pieces a day, and the candy in the box is disappearing at a visible rate.
The little one couldn't help but cry when he thought about how his mother hadn't come back yet and how all the candy she had brought back was about to be given away.
Seeing this, the eldest, Duofu, comforted him, saying, "Don't cry, Duole. You can keep my candy."
Duo Shou added, "I'll give my candy to Duo Le too."
Duoxi followed the formation and handed out the candy.
Duolu and Duoji are in a bit of a dilemma. One of them loves to eat, and the other is also very young, both being babies.
Doro hardened his heart, turned his head to the side, and forced himself not to look at the dozens of candies left in the box: "I don't want any more candy, Doro can have it."
Dorjee looked around at his older brothers, and they all gave way to him. Since they were little, his older brothers would always take care of him first when they had something. Now that he was an older brother, he should take care of his younger brother, Dorjee, more.
But the candy is so delicious, and it was made by Mom. He misses Mom too.
When Dorje's reluctant gaze fell upon Doro's eyes, which were filled with pearls, his desire for candy wavered. If things didn't go Doro's way, he would cry endlessly.
If Mom finds out, she might think he bullied Duo Le and doesn't like him anymore.
Dorjee didn't want to upset his mother.
After thinking it through, Dorje said with a wronged expression, "Dorje, you can eat candy, but I won't."
The older brothers all gave the candy to Du Le, so Du Le's eyes saw fewer pearls. But when the little guy saw the aggrieved look on his older brothers' faces, he felt that they were all babies without a mother, and he wanted to be nicer to his brothers.
Despite missing her mother, Duole reached out her chubby little hand, took out a piece of candy, and handed it to Duoji: "Eat."
Dorjee instinctively gripped the candy tighter. Seeing Duole's droopy face, he wanted to return the candy to him, but then Duole picked up another piece of candy and stuffed it into the hands of his remaining brothers.
The sensible Duole melted the hearts of Duofu and the others. They gathered around Duole, trying their best to smile and make him laugh.
Duole's eyes, which were filled with pearls, suddenly widened, and then she shouted in her tender little voice, "Mom, Mom."
The little guy shouted and quickly got up from the ground, pushed aside Duoxi who was blocking his way, and ran outside with his short legs.
This unexpected turn of events startled his brothers who were surrounding him. When they turned around, they saw Yu Rujia standing at the door.
Duole had already run up to Yu Rujia, and with a hop, the little guy pounced on her.
Yu Rujia quickly dropped what she was holding and caught the little bun that pounced on her.
As soon as Duo Le touched Yu Rujia, she started wailing and crying, squeezing her tightly with her little hands and legs: "Waaaaah, Mommy, Mommy's bad, no, no, Lele."
The little guy kept crying his eyes out, and his thinner frame made Yu Rujia feel heartbroken.
Yu Rujia stroked the little guy's head and comforted him, "It was Mommy's fault. I shouldn't have left for so many days. Don't cry, okay, Duole? Mommy won't go anywhere else. I'll just stay with Duole."
The older children also realized what was happening. Apart from the more rational Duofu and Duoshou, the rest of the children ran over and hugged Yu Rujia, calling out "Auntie" and "Mom" all around them.
Yu Rujia held Duole in one arm and used the other hand to touch each of the three little ones.
Yu Rujia: "I'm back. You guys are amazing. While I was away, you took good care of the house and looked after my younger brother. You are the most amazing babies."
Duolu lifted her little face from between her thighs, her eyes already red and swollen: "Auntie, where did you go? We can't find you anywhere."
Duo Xi said sullenly, "We don't want Auntie to leave us."
Dorje cried and said, "Mom, if you leave in the future, can you take me with you?"
Yu Rujia quickly comforted her, "I won't go anymore. I'll stay wherever you are. Please let me go first, okay? I've been walking all this way and I'm a little tired. I want to rest for a while."
A car took her into the village. She wasn't tired, but Duofu and Duoshou, two rather introverted people, stood to the side, wanting to get closer but there was nowhere for them to squeeze in. Their red eyes made Yu Rujia feel quite heartbroken.
Upon hearing this, Duofu immediately turned around and brought over the small chair that Yu Rujia often used, placing it in front of her: "Auntie, sit down."
Duoshou turned around, poured tea from inside the house, placed it on a small table, and carried the small table to the chair: "Auntie, have some water."
The three older children reluctantly let go of Yu Rujia's embrace and sensibly pushed her to sit down on a chair.
Yu Rujia hugged Duofu and Duoshou with one arm: "Thank you, Duofu and Duoshou. You've had a hard time while your aunt was away. Come and sit with us and tell your aunt what you've been doing these past few days."
When Yu Rujia returned, the children acted spoiled for a while before regaining their usual liveliness, chattering about what had happened while Yu Rujia was away.
When the conversation turned to Duole being unable to find anyone and crying incessantly every day, the little guy rubbed against Yu Rujia somewhat shyly, saying, "Mom, Mom, I miss Mom."
Yu Rujia kissed Xiao Duole: "Mommy wants to be with Duole too."
After spending some time with the children, it started to get dark.
Gao Shujing went to town and didn't come back. When Yu Rujia saw Duofu and Duoshou bringing in the washed vegetables, she stood up from the circle of the little ones.
Yu Rujia: "I'll cook tonight's dishes, and Duofu will help me start the fire."
