Chapter 25: A complete gangster

After class, Liu Zihong ran to me excitedly and said happily: "Brother Hao, Taozi asked you to go find her!"

Xia Xue next to her said sarcastically, "Wow, it's progressing so fast, girls nowadays are really not reserved!"

Although I did it to deliberately anger Xia Xue, I was also very happy to hear the news. After all, Taozi is also a little beauty, and she is not that easy to get along with. I stood up and said goodbye to Xia Xue, then rushed out of the classroom and ran to Taozi's class. There were not many students in the class, and they all looked surprised when they saw me. I ignored everyone and sat next to Taozi, and said happily: "How about it, beautiful girl, be my girlfriend?"

I didn't really like Taozi, so I didn't choose my words carefully. I just said whatever came to my mind, acting like a playboy.

Taozi's face turned red immediately: "Why do you talk like that?"

"Hey?" I said, "I wrote you a love letter and gave you roses. If you don't mean that, don't make fun of me. I really want to be with you, so what do you think, give me a chance?" I found that I had a talent for lying.

"Can you slow down?" Taozi's face was still red, like a fresh and juicy peach.

"Okay, let's do as you said and take it slow." I reached out to hold Taozi's hand: "Let's just hold hands tonight and don't do anything else."

As soon as my hand touched Taozi's hand, Taozi immediately broke free as if she had been electrocuted, and stood up with a cry of "Ouch!" "You are such a little gangster!"

A little thug? Hehe, although I have never been able to accept this title, it seems that my words and actions are indeed no different from those of a little thug. I propped my chin with one hand and said with an ambiguous expression: "Well, what do you want? Why did you call me over?"

Taozi sat back down and said seriously, "It's like this. I noticed that you quoted a lot of Shakespeare's love poems in your love letters. Do you know anything about Shakespeare? How many of his books have you read?"

I looked at Taozi in surprise. In the love letter I wrote, I did quote a lot of Shakespeare's love poems. I thought Shakespeare's sentences were beautiful, so I wrote them in the love letter casually, which could be regarded as plagiarism. But I thought that in this day and age, no one would read Shakespeare's works, so I thought Taozi would definitely be impressed by my literary talent. Who knew that she was actually an expert and could tell at a glance that those poems were written by Shakespeare!

"Don't look at me like that." Taozi said a little embarrassedly, "I am very interested in Shakespeare's works, but I don't know why I can't get into them. Some of his works are boring and long, and I can't see the beauty in them at all. So I was very anxious and wanted to find an expert to ask what's going on. Seeing that you casually picked up Shakespeare's love poems and wrote them into your love letters, I can see that you must have a deep understanding of his works!"

During the three years of being excluded in junior high school, I only had books to keep me company. Taozi asked this question, and she really asked the right person. I immediately said proudly: "Of course, I can recite Shakespeare's four major tragedies: Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, and the four major comedies: A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night, and As You Like It. But to be honest, I think Shakespeare's tragedies are more moving. But none of these can be as moving as his 154 sonnets!"

Speaking of this, I have a lot to say. If it weren't for these books, I really don't know how I would have gotten through those difficult days.

"Can you tell me in detail?" Taozi's expression was very eager, and there was a hint of admiration in her eyes when she looked at me.

"Of course!" I was naturally very happy. I finally met someone who also liked Shakespeare's love poems. It was a good opportunity to show off the things I had learned. These topics were never discussed with Xia Xue. Although Xia Xue was smart and good at studying, she didn't like reading extracurricular books.

"Well, that's great." Taozi said as she took out her notebook, apparently preparing to take notes. She also said with a smile, "I didn't expect a little rascal like you to be so cultured. I'm impressed."

"How come a gangster can't be educated?" I suddenly remembered my identity. I was a gangster with unruly words and deeds, not a nerd who spent all day reading books. So I immediately put on a bad look and said, "If you want me to tell you about it, that's fine. But the condition is that you have to be my girlfriend." I tapped the table lightly and looked at her with a smile.

I think I look like a complete gangster now.

Taozi's face turned red again, and she lowered her head and stopped talking.

"Think about it." I stood up and said, "Come back to me when you've figured it out. I'll tell you everything I know. I've studied Shakespeare for more than a decade. How can I just tell others about it?" Later, of course, this sentence was just bragging. In fact, I haven't read all of Shakespeare's works. I've only read some of his more famous works. As for the 154 sonnets, I've only read most of them. It's just that I was born with an interest in these things, so I remember everything I see and can quote some of them at will.

After saying that, I stood up and left.
