Sometimes, I am moved by how seriously I study. Do I still look like a murderous gangster?
Let me also talk about the new head teacher. He is really an old-fashioned scholar. I met him on the day I signed up with Zhuantou. He had no idea about my background and criticized me right away. I later learned that he hardly communicated with other teachers. It seemed that he was also desperate about the money-grubbing of Chenggao. He was devoted to his own little piece of land and thought it was enough to concentrate on teaching his students well. He didn't care about other trivial matters. It was only a few days after the start of school, and he had already scolded me four or five times.
When I was in class, he would call me out and criticize me, asking me to tell you the reason for my absence. Making up excuses was my strong point, saying I was sick today, I was too tired yesterday, and the house leaked because it rained the day before yesterday. In short, the head teacher was speechless and said that I was unteachable.
"Wang Hao, if you can't get into college, you will never be able to do anything. You will watch others make a lot of money while you can only go home and farm!"
However, no matter how much he criticized me, I never said anything back to him, because I saw a kind of seriousness and responsibility that I had not seen for a long time in him, which was the true spirit of Chengnan High School.
I never thought that the breakthrough in dealing with the dwarf mule would come from this class teacher.
One night, I was drinking with the Black Tiger Gang at the Forest Bar. Only Brick was not there, as he was in the school for evening self-study. Because it had been raining for several days, the bar was not doing very well, with only a few individual customers sitting here and there. Because of this, I had time to sit down and have a couple of drinks with everyone. Just then, a young man walked in, wearing a cheap white T-shirt and jeans, with hair dyed in a yellowish or black color, and he looked like a gangster from the bottom of society. After he came in, we didn't pay much attention to him, but just continued to drink our wine and talk about some interesting stories in the underworld.
After a while, we saw him walking around this table and that table, looking a little sneaky. At first glance, we knew he was selling drugs, and he was the lowest-level drug dealer. We sneered at him and ignored him, and continued to drink. The bastard seemed to be having a bad business. He walked around several tables without selling anything, and then walked towards us. Halfway through, he suddenly saw the people on our side, and was so scared that he quickly retreated and continued to sell to other tables.
There was a table full of big guys. Although they were not from the Black Tiger Gang, they also had dragons and tigers tattooed on their bodies. They seemed to belong to the scattered forces in the south of the city. The little rascal pestered for a long time, and was finally kicked down by a big guy, who cursed: "Get out of here, I don't like this stuff, it's very ambiguous." The little rascal stood up, patted the dirt, and walked towards other tables. It felt quite pitiful. But there must be something hateful about pitiful people. I am not kind enough to help him sell drugs or something. Such a scum, death is the lightest punishment.
Just when the little rascal was pestering another table, a gray-haired old man suddenly came in from the door. I was shocked when I saw him. Isn't this the head teacher of our review class? Maybe it was a conditioned reaction, I lowered my head quickly. It's funny to think about it. The overlord of the underworld in the south of the city would be afraid of an old man in his sixties.
Fortunately, no one noticed my abnormality and continued to drink and chat. I don't know why the head teacher came here. Does the old man have this habit? After a while, I heard a quarrel. The head teacher's voice rang out: "Ergou, come home with me!" Another voice said: "I'm not going back, don't worry about me!"
I looked up and saw the head teacher struggling with the hooligans. The head teacher pulled his arm and tried to drag him out the door. The hooligans were full of impatience and pushed the head teacher hard: "Let me go, let me go!"
The head teacher said again: "Ergou, you haven't been home for a few days. Your mother is very sad, do you know?"
The little rascal named Ergou became even more impatient and yelled, "What does my family's business have to do with you? Get out of my way!" He pushed the head teacher hard. The head teacher was pushed back several steps, and finally got angry and slapped Ergou with a loud "slap". The head teacher yelled, "You bastard, come home with me!"
A fight broke out in the bar, and several brothers rushed over to stop it. They didn't care who was right or wrong, and directly stopped the head teacher who started the fight, cursing and saying, "No fighting here, get out!"
The head teacher pointed at Ergou and said, "It's okay for me to go out, but he has to go out with me!"
Several brothers still pushed him and said, "You were the first one to start it, get out!" In their eyes, the head teacher did not belong here at all, so he should be the one to be expelled, and the little gangster was obviously one of them.
Ergou said smugly, "Get out of here, old man! Is this the right place for you? You'd better stay out of my family's business!"
The brothers pushed the class teacher, no matter how confident he was, no one took his words seriously. The class teacher was very stubborn and refused to leave, so the brothers started to push him. It was too easy for a few young and strong guys to deal with an old man over 50 years old, and they started to curse him. The class teacher also knew their identities and obviously did not dare to be too tough.
Although my identity would be exposed, I still stood up and shouted, "Stop!"
The brothers stopped and I walked towards them. The head teacher saw me and said with a little surprise: "Wang Hao..."
At the same time, several brothers immediately called out, "Brother Hao!" Their eyes and tone were full of respect.
