Chapter 31 Auction Turmoil

In the afternoon, when Chu Yu went to school, she saw that Yang Yiyi had also arrived.

After breaking off her engagement with the Sheng family, Yang Yiyi came to the school to withdraw her leave of absence application and continued to attend classes.

When her classmates saw her come to class, they were a little surprised and came up to ask her what was going on.

She had signed a confidentiality agreement with the Sheng family and couldn't reveal what happened last night, so she explained that she and the young master of the Sheng family didn't get along, the engagement was canceled, and she was now returning to school.

The classmates sighed upon hearing this, and several of the female classmates who had previously envied her for marrying into a wealthy family immediately began to laugh at her.

"Oh, you really have bad luck. Even a cooked duck can fly away. It seems you are destined to never be with a wealthy family."

"Your luck with money is really bad. These days, it's not so easy for an ugly duckling to turn into a swan."

If it were before, Yang Yiyi would have been so ashamed that she would have run away crying. But after what happened last night, she has let it go.

She seemed to simply laugh off the mocking classmates.

Seeing this, Chu Yu was very pleased; Yang Yiyi had finally come to her senses.

When Yang Yiyi saw Chu Yu, she went up to greet her.

The two found a quiet corner to sit down. Yang Yiyi expressed her gratitude to Chu Yu and told her that Xiao Ran's funeral would be held in three days.

Chu Yu patted her shoulder and offered a few words of comfort.

Yang Yiyi wiped away her tears and asked with a hint of trepidation, "Chu Yu, this time you not only saved me, but also helped me reconcile with my family. You are my great benefactor. Um, can we be friends from now on?"

Chu Yu smiled and nodded: "Okay."

When she heard her agree, Yang Yiyi was overjoyed. She said with admiration, "Chu Yu, I never expected you to be so amazing. From now on, you will be my idol."

Chu Yu smiled, said a few modest words, and asked, "Can you keep this a secret? I don't want the people around me to know my identity right now."

Yang Yiyi nodded: "I know that you reclusive masters are all quite low-key. Don't worry, I will definitely not tell anyone."

Seeing her sincere attitude, Chu Yu felt relieved. Just then, her phone vibrated, and a message came through.

She picked up her phone, opened the message, and saw it was from her third senior brother.

[Junior sister, I have good news for you. I have information about the whereabouts of the Water Spirit Orb, which you asked me to inquire about before.]

Chu Yu's eyes lit up, and she asked, "Where is the Water Spirit Orb now?"

Her third senior brother quickly replied: "The Water Spirit Orb was previously kept by an overseas Chinese. Recently, his company ran into some problems and faced a shortage of funds. To raise money, he asked someone to bring the Water Spirit Orb back to China for public auction. All you need to do is attend that auction and win the bid."

Chu Yu thought to herself, no wonder she couldn't find the Water Spirit Orb for so long; it turns out it was collected by overseas Chinese.

My third senior brother sent me the relevant information about the auction.

The auction was quite high-end, and only invited people could enter, but that shouldn't be a problem for Fu Yunche.

After class, Chu Yu called Fu Yunche and told him about the matter. Fu Yunche immediately asked Song Ze to handle it.

Song Ze was very efficient and quickly obtained the invitation.

The invitation stated that the auction would be held in three days.

...

Three days later.

At 7 p.m., Chu Yu and Jiang Huai'an arrived at the second-floor lobby of the Blue Sky Hotel, the venue for the auction.

The auction was a grand affair, with many celebrities and popular stars in attendance, making it a star-studded and lively event.

Jiang Huai'an, dressed in a suit, followed behind Chu Yu. He looked around and said excitedly, "This is my first time attending such a high-end auction. I'm quite excited."

Jiang Huai'an loved to join in the fun. When he learned that Chu Yu was coming to attend the auction, he pestered her to come along and broaden her horizons. Chu Yu couldn't refuse him, so she brought him along.

Seeing Jiang Huai'an looking around excitedly, Chu Yu coughed lightly and reminded him, "The guests here are all prominent figures in the capital. Be mindful of your image and don't be so loud."

Jiang Huai'an nodded: "Okay, I understand."

He immediately straightened his back and struck an elegant pose, but just as he got into position, the crowd suddenly stirred and someone shouted, "Look, the big star Long Aotian is here!"

Jiang Huai'an turned around and saw the popular male star Long Aotian walking over surrounded by a crowd.

Long Aotian was Jiang Huai'an's idol. His eyes lit up and he jumped up excitedly: "Wow, my idol Long Aotian is here too! My god, I actually saw him in person! I'm going to ask him for an autograph."

By the time the words were spoken, the other person had already rushed out.

Chu Yu's lips twitched. Expecting this guy to be elegant was like expecting a sow to climb a tree.

After Jiang Huai'an left, Chu Yu wandered around alone.

The auction hadn't started yet, and the guests were chatting in the hall. There were various drinks and desserts available. Chu Yu was a little hungry, so she went to a table and picked up a small cake to eat.

"Oh, I wondered who had snuck into the auction to freeload, but it turns out it was you."

A sarcastic, mocking voice came from behind.

Chu Yu put down the dessert in her hand and turned around. She saw a young woman leading a group of people over.

Chu Yu recognized her; she was Fu Sisi, born into a collateral branch of the Fu family, of noble birth, and a well-known young lady in the capital.

She wore exquisite makeup and a haute couture evening gown, looking elegant and noble, surrounded by people trying to curry favor with her, like a proud princess.

Fu Sisi is Chu Xinmeng's best friend.

Like Chu Xinmeng, she appears gentle, dignified, beautiful, and kind, but in reality, she is dark-hearted, selfish, and self-serving.

Back when Chu Yu was still with the Chu family, Fu Sisi and Chu Xinmeng often ridiculed her.

I never expected to run into her here.

Chu Yu frowned slightly.

What bad luck!

Fu Sisi looked at Chu Yu with disgust.

Chu Xinmeng often spoke ill of Chu Yu in front of her, which made her dislike Chu Yu very much.

When Zhao Hongsheng committed murder and buried the body last time, Chu Xinmeng was implicated and detained by the police for half a month, ruining her reputation. When Fu Sisi visited Chu Xinmeng, Chu Xinmeng told her that the reason she encountered such bad luck was all because of Chu Yu, that jinx.

Fu Sisi disliked Chu Yu even more because of this.

Upon seeing Chu Yu at the auction, he was surprised and couldn't help but walk over and mock her a few times, venting his anger on behalf of Chu Xinmeng.

"You've managed to sneak into this auction, are you trying to hook up with some rich guy? You're thinking too much. The people here tonight are all sophisticated; they won't be interested in someone like you."

Chu Yu ignored her, thinking she was just barking like a dog, and turned to leave, but Fu Sisi stopped her: "What, you're leaving as soon as you see me? Are you feeling guilty?"
