at present

Although Grandpa didn't say it directly, a lot of information could be gleaned from his words. Shui Yanling was a smart person, and she had already thought of many things from Grandpa's forlorn eyes, so she didn't ask any questions and just nodded lightly.

However, Shui Yanling's eyes also turned much colder. Is she very strong? It seems I still need to work harder! Not only that, even if it's not for revenge, she must become stronger in order to protect Fang Shuang.

Because if Fang Shuang's parents' enemies knew that they still had offspring, they would definitely come after them, and at that time, she would definitely protect Fang Shuang, Shui Yanling thought to herself.

Meanwhile, some distance away from this small mountain village lies Longhu Mountain, one of the largest centers of Taoist tradition in the world.

Taoism initially had two sects: the Five Pecks of Rice Sect and the Way of Great Peace.

The Five Pecks of Rice sect, also known as the Celestial Masters sect, was founded by Zhang Ling, who was also known as Zhang Daoling, the Ancestral Celestial Master, or the True Man of the Orthodox Unity.

Zhang Ling established his teachings at Heming Mountain in Shu, and his son Zhang Heng and grandson Zhang Lu continued to spread the teachings. They were later known as the "Three Masters".

Zhang Heng was not the inventor of the seismograph; his deeds are not recorded. Zhang Lu served as the Prefect of Hanning in Hanzhong and wrote "Laozi Xiang'er Commentary," which played an important role in promoting the Five Pecks of Rice sect.

Later, Zhang Lu surrendered to Cao Cao, and he and his five sons moved to Ye City.

After Zhang Lu's death, none of his five sons continued the lineage, while many believers emerged among other aristocratic families, such as Du Zigong of Qiantang, who was quite famous.

Du Zigong passed on his skills to his disciple Sun Tai, who, along with his nephew Sun En and Sun En's brother-in-law Lu Xun, once wielded considerable influence.

During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there was a situation where the Northern and Southern Celestial Masters sects coexisted, but their Celestial Masters were not from the Zhang family.

The Celestial Master of the Northern Celestial Masters sect was Kou Qianzhi, while that of the Southern Celestial Masters sect was Lu Xiujing.

Although Lu Xiujing inherited the mantle of the Celestial Masters sect, he actually founded his own school and it seems inappropriate for him to be affiliated with the Celestial Masters sect.

After the Tang Dynasty, Longhu Mountain gradually became the place where Zhang Tianshi preached, and thus it was called "Longhu Sect".

It is said that Zhang Lu had a son named Zhang Sheng, who fled south to Longhu Mountain to succeed Zhang Lu as a disciple after Zhang Lu surrendered to Wei.

However, this claim is not found in historical records.

From the Tang and Song dynasties onward, the Celestial Masters sect gradually gained prominence, with each successive leader being called a Celestial Master. During the Yuan dynasty, the title of "Celestial Master" was even recognized by the government.

He was later bestowed the title of "Master of the Zhengyi Sect," leading Taoism in Jiangnan and ranking first among all talismanic sects, where he achieved great development.

Longhu Mountain ranks thirty-second among the seventy-two blessed lands of Taoism. Its main palace is called Shangqing Palace, or Shangqing Zhengyi Wanshou Palace in full, and it is the ancestral temple of the Celestial Masters sect.

On the back mountain of Longhu Mountain, in a pavilion, a young man dressed in Taoist robes and wearing a lotus crown stood quietly watching the rising sun. A wisp of purple mist from the east drifted around him, lingering like a child.

"Why is Junior Uncle doing this? He's willing to seize the creation of heaven and earth just to fulfill that karmic debt, only to damage his own Great Dao. What's the point?" Behind the young man, an old Taoist priest with white hair and beard suddenly appeared, seemingly without a care in the world, as if he were following the natural way.

“I owe them a favor, but I can’t repay it now. I can only settle this debt through their only son. As for the Great Dao, I don’t care about it. Please don’t try to persuade me, senior brother.”

The young Taoist priest didn't turn his head, but just quietly looked at the purple aura swirling around him, as if he felt some pity for it.

For some reason, the old Taoist priest behind him called the young Taoist priest "Junior Uncle," while the young Taoist priest called the old Taoist priest "Senior Brother." The seniority relationship between them was really hard to understand.

Upon hearing the young Taoist's words, the old Taoist shook his head, then waved his sleeve, and instantly a storm arose, obscuring the sky and the sun, as an invisible aura shot into the heavens, heading straight east.

Upon seeing this, the young Taoist priest gently shook his body, and the purple aura around him gradually disappeared like flowing water.

At this moment, the young Taoist priest seemed to be deep in thought, weeping, fearful, indifferent, and surprised, displaying all five states at once. Then, he pointed to the sky and the earth and slowly took five steps forward, each step revealing a scene of human vicissitudes.

By the time he had taken five steps, he had witnessed all aspects of life. Suddenly, he seemed to have an epiphany, smiled broadly, and exclaimed, "Good!" Then the wind stopped, the clouds dispersed, and the clear sky appeared after the clouds cleared.

The energy that was heading east seemed to have lost its momentum, turning into a gentle breeze that swept directly eastward.

"Hahahaha," the old Taoist priest stroked his beard, laughed loudly, and left, leaving only a young man standing there with a smile in his eyes.

If Shui Yanling and Fang Shuang were here right now, they would definitely recognize that this young Taoist priest is the Taoist Lu Chen.

The old Taoist priest who just left is now the Grand Heavenly Lord of the Celestial Master's Mansion, who commands thousands of Taoists and sits in the Celestial Master's Mansion. With nothing but integrity, he is invincible in the world.

He was hailed by all three factions as "one step away from becoming a true immortal," and his elegance and talent were unparalleled.

After the Heavenly Lord left, Lu Chen stood alone here, gazing eastward. Suddenly, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed above the pavilion, its movements resembling those of a dragon, displaying a myriad of graceful forms.

"Time waits for no one, but my heart is still unclear."

Lu Chen suddenly knelt before the heavenly lightning and shouted in a deep voice, "I only ask that heaven and earth open a sliver of light, and I am willing to endure ten more years of vicissitudes for the righteous path of heaven and earth!" "Bang!" A huge bolt of lightning struck down from the sky and hit the pavilion directly. It seemed to be somewhat angry, but Lu Chen was unmoved at all. He continued to kowtow heavily and repeat the same words.

For a long time, the thunderclouds in the sky did not dissipate, and continued to rumble in a muffled manner over this area.

In the distance, in the main hall of the True Lord, the old Taoist priest, who was also the Great Heavenly Lord of the Celestial Master's Mansion, watched the man kneeling on the ground and kowtowing. He slowly shook his head, and finally turned his back, refusing to look at the figure under the thunderous roar.
