At this moment, Uncle Bin, along with Lan Xi, appeared from behind another pine tree and stopped clapping.
"Uncle Bin, you old monster... Huh? Lan Xi, what are you doing here too?" Lin Yue thought to himself, "Oh no!" The fact that he had unleashed his magic and drawn Lan Ying to fight had been discovered by ordinary people.
Uncle Bin was also helpless about this unexpected situation. He explained that when he was about to leave the office in the afternoon, he found Lan Xi looking nervous and saying that Lin Yue wanted to have a one-on-one duel with Huang Yi and asked Teacher Xie (Uncle Bin) to help him out.
Uncle Bin thought to himself that he could definitely handle this small matter. But the girl seemed very worried and knew nothing about Lin Yue's true identity.
So he comforted her, saying, "Lin Yue won't lose." However, Lan Xi was still very worried, so Uncle Bin reluctantly agreed to go with her to the place where the two had agreed to fight. But he would only go to watch the fight and would only intervene if necessary.
However, what no one expected was that Huang Yi was also someone who could use magic, and their battle inevitably exposed the fact that Lin Yue was a magic detective.
"What... what exactly happened?" Lanxi was a little scared, after all, everything about magic was beyond her common sense.
Teacher Xie could only explain casually, "We're here to investigate the strange case of the student jumping off the building the day before yesterday. This case involves the supernatural, so the police can't handle it, and we're the only ones who can."
Exposing the existence of the Dawn Poetry Society has already violated the rules among mages, and Uncle Bin really couldn't explain it. So he changed his tune and said, "In short, it's still hard to explain in a short time. You should go home first, and we'll talk about it tomorrow."
Uncle Bin spoke to Lan Xi in the manner and tone of a teacher.
Lin Yue believes this is an unavoidable situation.
Besides, tonight we also dealt with a piece of trash who bullied people by using his magic, so it can be considered making amends.
"Anyway..." He breathed a sigh of relief and shrugged, "At least no one will bother you anymore. Work hard from now on."
Lan Xi was very grateful to him and cried for the first time because of her own situation.
The pent-up negative emotions finally came to an end, erupting at this moment and turning into tears.
Shanshan looked at this scene, then at Lin Yue, then at Lan Xi, and then at her surroundings.
Lin Yue was starving, so after putting away "Blue Cherry Blossom," he urged everyone to leave quickly.
Seeing that it was already so late, Uncle Bin invited Lan Xi to have dinner at his dormitory and then took her home, which could be considered as a teacher taking care of a student.
"Okay... let me make a phone call home first."
Lin Yue told Lan Xi that Chef Xie's cooking skills were truly top-notch, and it would be a real loss for her if she didn't come. He then led the way to leave, but Shan Shan raised her hand to stop him.
Could it be that she has a problem with the relationship between Lin Yue and Lan Xi?
Uncle Bin thought to himself, then realized he was overthinking it, and he looked around warily.
The surroundings changed abruptly. The moon had turned red, seemingly out of nowhere. The night, like ink, obscured the distant scenery.
One by one, the pine trees burst into flames, their branches glowing with eerie blue fire. On the ground on both sides of the slope, dark green water gushed out and churned violently, beginning to erode the surrounding area.
It was as if this path had transported everyone present through time and space to the deepest part of hell.
Lin Yue shielded the terrified Lan Xi, exclaiming, "Holy crap, the school slope has turned into a bridge to the River Styx?"
Similar to the Naihe Bridge in ancient Chinese mythology, the Styx River is the long road that Orpheus crossed to take his deceased wife from the underworld.
"This is a bit of a problem." Uncle Bin was very troubled. He had been careless tonight and hadn't brought the black box with him. He only had a sword, some anti-magic weapons, and a small knife at his waist, and he didn't know if that would be enough.
Countless broken hands reached out from the black water outside the slope.
A large number of ghouls climbed up one by one, eyeing the four living people who had inexplicably entered hell with predatory intent.
"So those thugs were just a warm-up for us. Now the real show begins!" Lin Yue joked, placing his left hand on his right hip.
Shanshan protected the unarmed Lanxi, while Uncle Bin assessed the situation.
Suddenly, a ghoul leaped out of the black water, opened its blood-red maw, and lunged at Lan Xi, who screamed in alarm.
Fortunately, before the attacking ghouls could get close, Uncle Bin cleaved them in two with his sword. The surprise attack became the signal for the ghoul horde to attack, and they surged forward like a tide.
Shanshan used a dagger to slit the throats of all the "escaped fish" who had come from Uncle Bin's side.
Lin Yue drew "Blue Cherry" once more, the sword's aura shattering the approaching corpses into pieces. The three fought side by side as always.
"Too many, we can't handle it! Where can we escape to?" Lin Yue was the first to pant; his stamina wasn't quite up to par tonight.
Uncle Bin was also pondering whether to go left or right.
The four of them are no longer on the peaceful downhill path of the school, but are now in the River Styx, the deepest part of hell, with one side leading to the direction of no return.
"Escape in the direction where the ghouls are most concentrated! They should be blocking the exit!"
All three of them believed Uncle Bin's judgment. He took the lead, cutting through the corpses blocking his way and carving a bloody path so that Shan Shan could take Lan Xi away first.
Behind him was Lin Yue. Although he was somewhat tired, he didn't have time to rest, and the blade in his hand remained sharp.
The ghouls' dark green blood smeared their faces. The four of them moved towards the exit, but more and more ghouls were chasing them. Uncle Bin, Shanshan, and Lanxi gradually distanced themselves from Lin Yue, who was at the back.
