Then, without saying a word, Teacher Sang walked up to him, tapped his desk with a book, and woke him up.
"You little brat! How dare you sleep in my chemistry class!" This reprimand drew the attention of all the students.
Lin Yue looked at Sister Sang with a resentful expression, his eyes seeming to say, "Can you stop being so dedicated?"
The two then communicated with their eyes, though no one could tell.
Sister Sang: "Can you give me some face, since I'm the teacher who's only here in your class for the first time?"
Lin Yue: "Damn it, you go ahead and teach your chemistry, leave me alone while I'm sleeping, okay?"
Sister Sang: "You're going to ruin the prestige and authority I've worked so hard to build up!"
Lin Yue: "Isn't your aura and prestige built on your mature woman image, queen-like demeanor, and the allure of uniforms and black stockings?"
Sister Sang: "If you keep telling me the truth like this, you'll have no friends!"
Lin Yue: "You better get a good night's sleep and be well-rested to deal with any emergencies. We'll still be good friends!"
Sang Jie gave up on communicating with this person and glared at all the students who had stopped writing and were watching: "What are you looking at? Keep doing! Otherwise, hand in your papers ten minutes early!"
The classroom was once again filled with a silent symphony of sounds from pens writing on exam papers.
Throughout the day, Huang Yi surprisingly didn't make any big moves, nor did he bring any other students to deliberately cause trouble for Lan Xi or Lin Yue, as if he were indeed brewing some grand conspiracy.
During the break, Lin Yue and Huang Yi's eyes met briefly, and the latter's eyes revealed a strong hostility that said, "I will definitely defeat you."
Finally, the last class before school ended was a self-study period, and Class C started to get restless, turning into a bustling market.
All their conversation today revolved around the new, beautiful chemistry teacher, which Lin Yue found increasingly annoying. Just then, Lan Xi called out to him.
"I...I'm telling you, you should hurry home and not fight with that Huang Yi."
Lin Yue chuckled, "Just some grunts."
"What if this is a trap? They might gang up on you! You've helped me so much, it's not worth taking this risk!" Lan Xi felt very guilty.
Since yesterday, Lin Yue has been protecting her from harm.
"I feel like saying thank you a thousand times is never enough..."
"Don't thank me, there's nothing to thank me for," Lin Yue casually declined.
"No, no, how can you say that?" Lan Xi didn't understand the deeper meaning.
Lin Yue looked at her and sighed. "I'm not helping you, I'm just making myself feel a little better."
However, to avoid unnecessary trouble, he never said those words aloud, only vaguely replying, "It's nothing."
Lin Yue was her first new friend since starting high school, and she didn't want him to get involved in bad things.
"Do you still have the cherry blossom petals I gave you yesterday?"
"Ah..." Lan Xi said honestly, "I held it tightly this morning, and it seems to have melted."
In fact, when she was surrounded by Huang Yi's group this morning, she tightly held onto the "talisman," hoping that someone would appear to protect her.
As it turned out, Lin Yue's words from yesterday came true: the cherry blossom petals melted, and her crisis was averted.
"Pfft, what a coincidence." Lin Yueqian chuckled. "Alright, I'll give you another one later."

3. At 6:30 p.m., long past school dismissal time, there were few people on the downhill road in front of the school gate. The sunset colors on the road had long faded, replaced by the deepening darkness of night.
Lin Yue went to the battle as agreed, alone—on the surface he appeared to be alone, but he had already contacted Shan Shan in advance and had her lie in wait in the shadows.
If anything goes wrong, or if too many opponents put Lin Yue in a difficult situation, she will step in to help.
Although this may seem like unfair competition, this countermeasure is only applicable if Huang Yi's side cheats.
Lin Yue had paid special attention to this downhill slope beforehand, since an ominous situation had occurred here yesterday afternoon.
The slope is about fifty meters long and has an incline of about thirty degrees. Pine trees, which are known as "soul-summoning trees" by expert exorcists, are planted on both sides.
Yesterday, one of the trees burst into flames without warning, a vague ominous sign.
Lin Yue was very hungry and wanted to finish quickly so he could go back to the teachers' dormitory for dinner. He had never been late for dinner, which was prepared by Uncle Bin.
If Huang Yi is completely defeated by Lin Yue this time, he will not easily cause trouble for Lan Xi again.
This was the ending he wanted after tonight. Without unleashing his magic, Lin Yue's speed and strength would be significantly reduced, but he could still manage this battle. Could it possibly be any less challenging than fighting a demon?
The streetlights beside the pine trees came on, but they didn't seem as bright as before, yet they still illuminated the entire road in a stark white light.
At the very top of the slope, a figure gradually approached. He was not much taller or more robust than Lin Yue, but he brought with him intense hostility.
Without a doubt, it was Huang Yi who arrived. He had already taken off his coat, revealing his muscular physique, and walked over with an iron rod in his hand, striking a pose.
"You have quite the courage!" Huang Yi grinned sinisterly. "I won't be satisfied until I've turned you into a meat patty today!"
Lin Yue didn't have time for any fancy opening remarks; he wanted to get to the point quickly. "Enough with the nonsense. If I win, you have to promise—"
Do you really think you can win?
Lin Yue had a bad feeling. Was Huang Yi's confidence a little too overbearing?
He continued, "I promise I won't cause any more trouble for Lanxi."
