"If you're willing to give me the privilege of resting and being absent at any time, I'll stay," Lin Yue requested.
"Little brother, how can you do this! High school students should prioritize their studies!"
"What if there are any unexpected situations? I can't let class prevent me from conserving my energy, as that would be detrimental to the school's safety."
"What you said makes so much sense, I'm speechless. Okay, I'll go talk to the teacher of Class C and ask for their help later."
Principal Zhou actually agreed, saying that as long as they didn't investigate his family's (corruption) background, he was open to discussing anything.
"I have some good news to tell you, Teacher Xie. This month, Class C, which you taught, has gone from being the worst disciplined class in the whole school to the most obedient and the most improved class!"
Oh, and I also need to thank Ms. Sang. Thanks to her, Class C's chemistry grades have improved dramatically! At this rate, the students will get good grades on the final exam! And those rich parents will definitely send me gifts again... no, no, ignore the last sentence..."
Principal Zhou shook Uncle Bin's hand vigorously to express his gratitude.
"The perpetrator was a policeman who came in from outside; it's really hard to guard against. I hope your school will pay more attention in the future."
Uncle Bin is accustomed to offering constructive suggestions to the client after resolving the case, in order to demonstrate his meticulous professional attitude.
"Okay, okay! No problem! I'll transfer the money to your account in a few days, just keep an eye on your text messages!"
-
Seven days after the incident was resolved.
"Cheers!" Uncle Bin shouted loudly, looking at the sumptuous dinner on the table, the fruits of his labor all day.
After receiving a hefty reward from the principal today, he immediately went out to buy the finest ingredients, the best wine, and everything else to create tonight's party.
“Okay…” Sang Huanxin reluctantly picked up his wine glass, his enthusiasm not so high: “I don’t even know how the incident was resolved, cheers.”
"Whether it's resolved or not, it all comes down to a split second." Uncle Bin downed the wine, the lingering aroma lingering in his throat.
No one expected that the criminal was actually a policeman.
Moreover, they had been infiltrating the school to spy on it since the very beginning of the incident.
He abused his power to freely enter and exit the school, destroy evidence, investigate and take away those he wanted to find. "Shanshan, what are your thoughts?" Uncle Bin asked her.
"My feelings? For you two, the case will be solved sooner or later, won't it? For me? I'm freed from a troublesome matter!"
After saying that, she glanced at Lin Yue expressionlessly.
"I also deserve a good drink, cheers!" With that, he clinked glasses with Uncle Bin, who had raised his glass again.
Sang Jie felt that these people had been acting strangely ever since they came back that night. Except for this high school student she had just met, a naive girl, who seemed quite normal.
"Lanxi, don't drink alcohol like us adults today, just have some soda." Sister Sang said to her student in a teacher's tone.
"No way! Today is my birthday, I'm eighteen!" Lan Xi snatched the wine bottle. She had wanted to try red wine for a long time. Seeing how much fun you adults were drinking, could it be better than soda?
However, the moment the bright red liquid touched her tongue, she couldn't stand the extremely bitter taste and almost spat it out. "So bitter!"
"Hahaha..." Uncle Bin laughed, "Only by experiencing countless worlds and all the flavors of life can one truly appreciate the transcendent sweetness of red wine."
"I know, I know, I'm only eighteen years old, I don't know anything about the five flavors of life!" Lan Xi moved her wine glass away, her cheeks flushed red after drinking the red wine.
"Huh? You said it's your birthday today? Really?" Sang Huanxin realized that after getting to know her better, this high school sophomore girl was actually quite lively.
"Otherwise, who do you think today's celebration banquet and birthday party is for?" Lin Yue suddenly interjected, as he was lying on the sofa with his legs crossed, looking very unladylike and casual.
"Hey, you bought the cake! I thought you were celebrating your own birthday!" Sang Huanxin complained.
"Do you think a 120-year-old like me would celebrate my birthday? How many candles would that require? Do you want to eat the candles instead of the cake?"
"What? Lin Yue, you're 120 years old?" Lan Xi asked in surprise. "This is the first time I've ever heard of this!"
“Yes…” Uncle Bin quipped, “He always calls me an old monster, but he is one himself.”
"Don't worry about the details!" Lin Yue stood up from the sofa. "Come on, let's cut the cake!"
After singing "Happy Birthday," everyone prepared gifts for Lanxi.
First, Shan Shan gave him a dagger inlaid with gemstones, wrapped in a square piece of silk. "If your boyfriend bullies you in the future, just pick up this knife and stab him."
"I don't have a boyfriend, but thank you anyway!" She took it and found that the dagger was very light and didn't feel bulky at all.
"Okay, just kidding. It's more practical to use it for self-defense than to stab your lover." After dropping her off, Shan Shan prepared to leave.
"I'll be leaving for a while. Goodbye, everyone."
"Where are you going?" Lin Yue asked.
"Cultivation." Shanshan packed her things and walked towards the door.
"Recently, I've noticed that my sense of smell has become dull, and I need to hone it back to its original level."
"Alright, take care on your journey." Lin Yue didn't say anything more.
"I will definitely come back when you need me." With that, Shanshan closed the door and left temporarily, watched by everyone.
To prevent everyone from getting too caught up in the sadness of parting with their companions, Uncle Bin said, "Alright, now, please accept my gift!"
