1. "Enough with the small talk, let me see Liuli first!"
"Men are just impatient." Bo Ren, who never drank alcohol, suddenly felt the urge to pick up the wine pot.
She poured a full glass of wine with a light and deliberate motion, gesturing to the guest. "Here, have a drink first." Her previously cold, mask-like face immediately became alluring.
Thin Blade knew that his burning anxiety was mocking himself. Yug silently clenched his fists, turned his face away, and his usual composure had vanished without a trace.
Although she was anxious inside, her words remained as sharp as ever: "Dear mercenaries, is your efficiency... really as slow and methodical as you appear to be right now?"
Suddenly, Thin Blade swung his hand and smashed the wine glass in front of Yog.
The wine soaked the soles of his shoes. He didn't care.
Hong Ren sneered and snapped his fingers. In response, a petite girl with long black hair walked out from behind the banquet curtain.
Her steps were light and delicate, her face still held a youthful innocence, and her expression was shy.
Her eyes shone like black pearls, but at this moment her gaze was dim and lowered, and she dared not look directly at anyone.
It wasn't until she spotted that familiar figure not far away that she perked up and almost rushed over.
Yug hugged the girl, who only reached his chest, tightly, his face filled with excitement and relief. "You haven't changed!"
The girl simply buried her face in his arms and wept, unsure of what words to use to express her feelings.
"You didn't do anything to her, did you?"
"I don't like this kind of thing!" Hong Ren flatly denied, and drank another cup of wine.
"What a touching reunion, what a lovely May-December romance," Bo Ren said sarcastically.
Yug looked mature despite being a young man, with stubble on his beard;
Liuli, on the other hand, looked to be no more than sixteen years old, at least not yet reaching the age of adulthood as commonly accepted in mainland China.
In fact, Bo Ren already knew that Yug had resurrected his lover and fixed his soul in the doll, creating the still-living Ruri.
"You really haven't changed!" Yug exclaimed excitedly, pulling Liuli along as they headed outside.
Thin Blade stood up, wanting to stop him immediately, but Red Blade interrupted first. "Where's the Wind Vortex Stone?"
Yug turned around, his eyes not looking at anyone: "I need to check first to see if you've done anything underhanded!"
Thin Blade thought Yug was too petty. If Continue Blade had returned from his mission, he would have already drawn his twin blades at this dawdling guy.
That said, Xu Ren was late, even though he had said he wouldn't come back and would just sit here idly.
Red Blade replied impatiently, "Even if I really did tamper with it, you think you can escape with him? You can't escape the inescapable trap we've set up."
Yug glared at Red Blade without saying a word, then led the girl straight out of the hall. The two people at the banquet did not stop him.
“There’s no need to do anything.” After Yug left, Red Blade looked at Thin Blade with a puzzled expression, wondering why she said that.
She didn't explain; her anger had subsided by now. She simply murmured, "'Death Glass'...what an ironic title."
Hongren ignored this and simply ordered, "Since you're not interested in this meal anyway, you might as well go and follow him. If anything goes wrong, take action immediately."
"Actually, I don't need to take action, but I'll still go and watch the show later." With that, Bo Ren left the hall without looking back.
Only Hongren remained at the table, continuing to enjoy himself. He snapped his fingers, summoning several female servants.
2. The moonlight was enchanting, and there was no one around. The two of them walked out of the mercenary base and went several hundred meters away.
No one was following them along the way.
Although the wilderness is not the most ideal place for a rendezvous.
However, this is the only place where we can enjoy a moment of peace and quiet right now.
The lovers reminisced about things from long ago. On the day she met him, Ruri witnessed the young man skillfully weaving all sorts of things with fine threads, which she found incredibly amazing. Their acquaintance began from there.
Afterwards, Yug decided to leave the town, so he sold all his belongings left there to get money to take Ruri with him to travel all over the continent, hoping to stay with her from now on.
It was a tough trip, during which their feelings for each other gradually grew and became inseparable. They came to believe that the other had become an indispensable part of their lives.
During the day, the two performed on the streets of the big city;
They would squeeze into a stable to rest at night, their footprints covering the north and south. Yug and Liuli had traversed icy snowstorms and scorching volcanoes, traveled to the capital, and rested in mountain villages;
He encountered daring bandits, lecherous lords, and even performed in the homes of royalty and nobility, but in the end, he only received a few copper coins.
He offended those in power, but also helped others who were in similar troubles.
I've tasted delicacies and also eaten burnt bread;
Life was tough, yet incredibly happy. It was a journey without end; as long as we could stay together and rely on each other, there was no end in sight.
For both of them, hardship and pain are in the past; the best moment is always the present.
The destination is always the next place.
After that... Yug didn't continue.
The two of them dug out all the happy memories from their hearts and savored them.
At that moment, the bright moon cast its silvery glow. The moonlight painted Liuli's face, which could once again be seen through his eyes, so clear and beautiful, something Yuge had once thought he would never see again in his life.
Yug didn't speak again, just stared at Liuli until she blushed and lowered her head. He finally made up his mind, because if he hesitated any longer, he would be reluctant to leave.
