Chapter 567

"I heard that even the King's mercenaries, the Midnight Slayers, failed. This time I must capture him."

"I'm going to make you explain yourself this time!" she thought, her anger blazing. "I'm hungry, Karin, get me something to eat."

3. As winter approaches on the mainland, the climate changes abruptly, and the nights are bitterly cold. The two are hiking in the wilderness, hoping to find a place to rest for the night.

Felsa and Gelu together donned cloaks and covered their faces. This was not only to prevent others from recognizing them, but also to protect them from the cold night and sandstorms.

In this season, the clothes I wear are no longer enough to keep me warm, and even with a cloak, it doesn't seem to be enough.

It would be great if I had prepared a leather jacket or a sweater.

The two are heading north, closely following the whereabouts of the "Wind Vortex".

After her fierce battle with Sherry—actually Priscilla—Felsa suffered both physical and mental trauma, spending half a month in bed before barely recovering her strength. Only recently has she regained the physical ability to pick up a sword.

Jielu was not seriously injured at the time, so she took care of her companion for more than half a month.

Having largely recovered, Philsa decided on his next journey—to find Sherry. Why did she attack Philsa?

Why did she wait until she and Felsa defeated Red Blade before attacking him?

Was she really Sulli? These three questions kept swirling in my mind, giving rise to various doubts.

After saying goodbye to Qi, the two embarked on their journey, which continues to this day.

There was supposed to be another person traveling with them—Yog Huckleberry. But no one knows where he is now, and his fate is unknown.

Felsa was convinced he was dead, though he refused to accept it deep down. Even if he succeeded in avenging his comrade, it wouldn't bring back his friend's life. He shared this regret with Jelu.

"There seems to be a small town not far away! Great, I've finally seen it. I can rest there tonight."

Jelu told her companion about her discovery in a cheerful and happy tone, hoping to cheer him up and keep him from becoming depressed.

To his surprise, he sensed something was amiss: "Why couldn't I notice it?"

"Maybe it's too far."

Firza is blind and wears an eye patch.

However, he is adept at using his magical sense of touch to perceive the outside world. Because of this, he acts no differently from a normal person.

The two entered the town before nightfall, and it was then that he admitted his magical senses were not sensitive enough:

"This really is a small town. But why are there so few people here? So few that it hardly qualifies as a small, inhabited town..."

He didn't say the second half of his sentence, lest his companions think he wasn't admitting defeat.

However, he was still concerned about this question, after all, he was always vigilant.

His doubts were interrupted by a rumbling in his stomach.

"I'm hungry," Jielu said, her voice growing softer and softer.

Philsa smiled to himself. It made sense; the two of them had been so focused on their journey that they hadn't eaten all day, and he had almost completely forgotten about eating.

Night had completely fallen. Only a few lights were on in the town. Strangely, after searching for a long time, they found that many shops were still closed.

So they had no choice but to return to the small restaurant in front of the town gate.

As Jelu led Philsa through the door, they discovered that the tiny shop, less than twenty square meters in size, was packed with people.

Every table was occupied by customers, and the place was bustling with noise. No wonder, given that it was the only restaurant open in town.

At this moment, the young proprietress quickly came over and bowed to apologize to them.

"Sorry, there are no seats available."

Jelu secretly looked dejected behind her companions.

But Philsa continued, "Is there really no other place to sit?"

"Yes, there is... but that's the workers' rest room, it's a bit dirty, and there are no lights on."

Most of the customers in the restaurant cast displeased and contemptuous glances at Firsa, disapproving that the blind man might bump into himself or the food and drinks on the table due to his slow movements.

"It's alright, please take us there."

"This way, please!" the proprietress replied, thinking to herself, "This person wears an eye mask, but his movements are very agile, and his speech is quite different from the other customers."

The proprietress led the way, and Philsa carefully weaved through the gaps between the tables; the shop was already small.

Finally, she led the two guests to the inner room, which was dark, but there shouldn't be any major problems if they were to dine there.

Moreover, the workers are all busy outside, and no one stays here.

Therefore, the inner room is particularly quiet, isolated from the noise outside.

At this moment, only Philsa and Jelu were the two guests, and the atmosphere seemed quite pleasant as they enjoyed their dinner.

The proprietress handed over a wooden menu and asked with concern, "It's so dark, can you see anything?"

This was originally said to Jelu.

Philsa smiled slightly. "I don't need to see with my eyes." He then asked her to hand him the menu, running his hand over the words on it.

Those were dish names written in thick ink, leaving noticeable raised marks after they dried.

He used this opportunity to figure out what was written on the sign, and then ordered, "Bread and milk for two, plus one... plum biscuit, thank you."

"Okay, please wait a moment!"

After the landlady responded, she left, leaving only Philsa and Gerald in the inner room.

Jelu noticed that her companion seemed to have learned Yug's teasing tone.

This also seems to suggest that Firsa's ability to make fun of others indicates that he has temporarily dispelled his frustration and regained his composure.

Thinking of her deceased companion Yug, Jelu reminisced about the past.
