"What should we do?" Jielu asked anxiously, while keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings.
Sure enough, a murderous aura surged forth from right in front of Philsa. A figure gradually emerged in the center of the dark street.
It was a burly man wielding a long sword, clad in chainmail, and exuding a demonic aura.
Philsa knew from his magical senses that the other party was a knight, but it was difficult to tell whether he was righteous or not.
The knight, whose purpose was unclear, faced Philsa and uttered his declaration of war, word by word: "I am Leonardo, known as the Black Knight. Today I have come to test your swordsmanship!"
Having said that, he raised his longsword and strode closer.
"How polite! They even announce themselves before battle," Philsa thought. But before he went blind, he was also a knight, so he couldn't help but feel a little self-deprecating.
He held no sword in either hand, and could not find any weapon nearby to use for the duel, so he listened to the enemy's declaration of war empty-handed. Seeing this, Gerlu first raised her sword to protect her companion, facing the enemy with a fierce posture.
The darkness of night, coupled with her hooded hood covering her face, made it impossible to discern her features.
The knight was surprised to see someone suddenly standing between him and Philsa, a person who was even shorter than both of them.
His expression darkened, and he lowered his sword slightly, saying disdainfully, "Woman or child? Get lost—"
Suddenly, Jelu lowered her body and launched a sneak attack, her blade slicing into the enemy's right knee, causing him to kneel and swallow back the words she hadn't finished saying.
This wasn't a formal duel, so she didn't care whether it was fair or not. After her victory, she stepped aside and looked around.
Philsa immediately stepped forward and delivered a powerful elbow strike to the face of the kneeling enemy who was trying to get up, so forceful that it almost snapped his neck.
Taking advantage of the moment the burly knight fainted, he seized the steel longsword from his hand, and while sensing the movement around him, he stood back to back with Jelu.
He sensed several more demonic auras approaching. Sure enough, Jelu discovered that people were pouring out from both the front and back, some wielding spears, some swinging chains, and some even holding hammers with both hands.
Philsa felt the steel sword in his hand was somewhat heavy.
He used to wield an ice-bound longsword, light yet surprisingly lethal. Faced with the approaching horde of enemies, he had no choice but to make do, raising his longsword to protect himself. "Watch out for the rooftops! There are hidden archers!"
Jelu gave a brief "hmm," glanced around to observe, and then rushed forward to engage the enemy in close combat.
Felsa handled the rear, while Gerlu dealt with the front. A swarm of heroes attacked, with archers lurking to ambush them. She was agile, her petite frame felling each of the attacking adventurers one by one.
Although he couldn't get used to the heavy longsword, and the presence of the barrier made his movements less agile than before, it was still more than enough to deal with the current enemies.
Jelu carved a bloody path through the enemy lines. The number of enemies ahead dwindled, most falling to the ground. After a brief standoff, the two ceased fighting and used the area ahead as a point of attack—they were now retreating along the same route back to the town entrance.
Jelu walked quickly ahead, while Philsa behind her suddenly stopped.
"Look up there! Isn't it..."
Upon hearing this, Jielu immediately looked up and saw a shooting star shining with green light streaking across the night sky, heading in the opposite direction from where the two were running.
"It's her..."
Without a doubt, it is the demonized "Sherry".
However, Jelu still doesn't know whether the vortex demon is Sherry or Priscilla.
"It's her! North!" Philsa said, facing the direction behind him, which was north.
But an ever-growing number of enemies were surging in from there.
If I choose to escape and bypass the town to continue north, I will definitely waste a lot of time and the chance to meet Sherry.
"Firsa, let's get away first!" Jelu urged her companion not to hesitate and to save their lives first, while she herself kept moving away.
“No.” Philsa had made his decision and threw down his heavy steel longsword.
It was Green Star's sudden appearance that changed his mind. "I'm going to break through the crowd, you have to keep up with me!"
Jelu knew that the town's barrier sealed away ice magic. Just as she was about to ask him what he was up to, she noticed that his breathing had become heavy, and an unusual magical aura was emanating from his body.
She had seen this sign before—Firsa was about to go berserk!
"Are you crazy?"
Everyone knew that this was not the time to fight to the death with the heroes, and Philsa had only recently recovered his strength.
It's too hard! But Jelu couldn't stop his companion. He was so decisive, so resolute, so anxious to find Sherry.
Aurora burst forth from Philsa's body, and two longswords of extreme ice condensed in his hands.
The power of the extreme ice eventually broke through the barrier that imprisoned this place, alarming Freya, who was maintaining the barrier in the distance.
The crystal ball in her hand shattered under the pressure and expanded.
"How is that possible? I clearly sealed the ice magic!" She had never failed, and the barrier she set up had never been broken.
The surrounding magical energy flowed erratically, and the breath of the ocean gradually dissipated. Only when the barrier shattered did she have to acknowledge this fact.
"How is this possible... I clearly used ice magic... ice... magic? Could it be... that Philsa's 'Extreme Ice' isn't magic at all?"
Recalling the battle, Philsa roared and leaped forward, wildly wielding his twin swords.
The heroes besieging us today were not as powerful as the various professional masters who gathered at the feast that day; they almost all fell down as soon as they were hit by Philsa.
Jelu followed closely behind, worried about Philsa's situation while remaining vigilant for any potential attacks from the surroundings.
The magic of the extreme ice roared, and the remaining enemies dared not approach any further, retreating and allowing the two to flee swiftly north of the town.
