Facing his ministers in the imperial palace, the king gave this final command: "There is no single mystery, and I am not the only one on the Star Dawn Continent who possesses a secret. All the heroes who hold these secrets must be gathered together!"
2. As dusk approached, a group of heroes gathered at an adventurers' guild somewhere. They sat around a table, as if holding a meeting. However, most of them were distracted.
This is a group of people who were just formed today, and they don't even know each other very well.
People with the same or similar goals temporarily form a cooperative relationship and a team called the "Brigade".
Their common goal this time is undoubtedly the rumored "Felsa of the Extreme Ice".
"Have all the residents been evacuated? Are they all housed in the other barrier I set up? The ocean barrier on the battlefield can nullify ice magic, thus sealing off Felsa's combat power."
The one giving these instructions was the leader of the troupe, a short-haired girl. Her attire was unlike that of ordinary people; she wore a deep purple robe.
In the Starry Continent, most people who wear purple robes are of noble birth, and are nobles who are famous for their knowledge and have achieved honor.
Indeed, this was the case; she came from a family of alchemists, but her hobby was wielding swords and spears. The short spear she carried lay flat on the table, its blade made of a peculiar crystal.
It will only glow purple regardless of the color of the light.
“But Freya… there seems to be a woman with him.” Seeing that everyone was silent about the “Commander” named Freya, the man next to her brought this up.
"Hmm. According to rumors, Yug is dead, and there is indeed an unidentified woman with Philsa. I don't know who she is, but Kelling, you will take a team to surround her."
No one could possibly deal with so many people alone. Speaking of which, who did he travel with this time?
Her purple dress suddenly trembled a few times, and a small thing emerged from her shoulder.
"Hey, I'm having a strategy meeting right now, don't pop out!"
Before Freya could push the "little thing's" head back in, everyone was startled to see what it was. It was a young dragon, pure white all over.
"Let's get back to the main topic and proceed according to the plan we just discussed."
The man named Kelling nodded in understanding. He was the only person here who recognized Freya. Dressed in green, he was one of the so-called "Green-Clad Nobles" on the Star Continent—nobles renowned for their craftsmanship and honor.
"Once we enter the town, there's only one way to escape. The first squad will wait at the south gate. Kelin, whatever you do, don't shoot him!"
We need to capture him alive. But don't seriously injure him... just render him immobile. Also, we need to consider the possibility that he might retreat along the same route. Have a few people guard that route!
"Okay...okay...fine." Kelin felt he couldn't keep up, but he agreed verbally.
More than ten people came today to discuss countermeasures, but the brigade has seventy or eighty people, plus more than ten archers.
As long as the plan is followed, success will be within reach—Freya believed. Finally, she glanced at the clock behind her and realized it was nearing evening.
Just then, she felt a tickle behind her, and her purple robe began to tremble again. The young dragon couldn't resist peeking out once more, its agate-like eyes curiously scanning its surroundings, its tiny wings flapping.
Freya held it in her arms, drawing everyone's attention once again. It was very peculiar, completely unlike the ferocious creature described in ancient books, probably because it was still a juvenile.
She concluded, "That's about it, that's roughly it."
Then, after considering whether anything had been overlooked, she turned to ask Kelling, "Hey, are there any unusual celestial phenomena?"
"I think I saw a green meteor fly across the sky around noon today, but it's not really anything unusual, is it?" Kelin, an archer, has exceptional eyesight, and those who know him call him "Eagle Eye".
Freya pondered for a moment and then nodded. "This doesn't seem to concern us, so let's forget about it."
These two were both nobles and acquaintances, a fact that all the heroes present could tell. However, because Freya was not very old and still had a youthful appearance, the heroes present were not entirely convinced of her decision.
That being said, the group was indeed funded and established by her, and no one objected to that. In reality, while the heroes appeared to share the same goals, they each harbored their own ulterior motives. None of them wanted to capture their target alive; they wanted to take their head directly.
"Little sister, is that guy Philsa really coming here?" one of the men present asked the "Commander" impatiently.
The massive hammer he carried demonstrated his brute strength.
"He will! It's such a cold autumn night; he'll definitely find a place to rest nearby. Besides, he has others with him. He cares more for his companions than for himself—that's just the kind of person he is!"
He was skilled at setting up protective barriers and also served as the brigade commander.
With her strategic planning, personal involvement in combat, and thorough knowledge of the enemy, Freya appears to be a commander who has the overall situation under control. Even the green-clad man beside her cannot compare to her and can only serve as her assistant.
However, she was simply too young, not even twenty years old;
The other adventurers in the party were mostly older, and they remembered the title the king bestowed upon them: "Hero"—
How could heroes willingly obey a little girl's orders? The heroes' goal was not to capture Philsa alive, but to take his head directly.
Joining the group is merely taking advantage of the group's convenience.
The young commander, however, was completely unaware of this.
