Chapter 579

It turns out that Shirley learned this from Olina before she left the Holy City.

"Then, could you use elemental arrays to assist me in battle? Can they be used in actual combat?"

His companion nodded vigorously, then shook his head in denial, "I'm not very proficient yet, but I'll try my best."

At the same time, she muttered to herself, "Your mind works the fastest when it comes to matters of combat!"

In fact, the purpose of the elemental array—Sherry's original intention in learning it—was to use it to assist her companions in battle.

Sherry had told Olina about her battle with the enemy in the forest with Philsa.

After hearing this, Olina suggested that they try not to let two people rush forward together to confront the enemy.

A slender woman like Sherry is even less suitable. For a combination like Firsa and Sherry, the general strategy is to conceive of a "one in front, one behind" pairing.

The so-called "one in front and one behind" means that one person supports from the rear while the other goes forward to kill the enemy.

If Sherry were to act as Felsa's support from behind, she could also cast area-of-effect spells to disrupt the enemy.

Olina had extensive experience in two-person tactics and teamwork against enemies, so Sherry asked her to teach her more. In the end, Olina taught her how to use elemental magic circles.

"This is something I just learned recently..." Sherry had just seen Philsa use magic to solve the water shortage problem, and at the same time, she remembered the wind magic circle and its effects that she had recently learned. In a flash of inspiration, she decided to put the array into practice now, although not for combat.

"Let's move a little closer, the array seems a bit too narrow," Shirley suggested.

Firsa lifted the hem of his coat and sat cross-legged on the hard ground. His companion also sat down with his back to him.

Their backs were pressed close together, and the rise and fall of their companion's breathing could be heard through their intertwined bodies.

Taking advantage of a rare opportunity to rest, he closed his eyes and began to relax properly.

However, he just can't seem to calm down.

Before me stand the ruins on the cracked earth, a testament to centuries of change. This majestic and solemn kingdom, like a living, breathing giant knight, kneels wounded. Yet, it still survives under the blue sky, resilient and unyielding, just like the spirit of the Fierce Eagles.

In ancient times, the Silver Knights were dissatisfied with the kingdom's coup, the rulers' ambition to expand the country's territory, and their neglect of the people's suffering voices.

So they heeded the advice of the wise men who lived in seclusion in the Snova Mountains in the far north and launched an uprising, starting in the north.

Now, I, leading the resurrected demonic warband, return to the continent of Valentino—a continent that originally belonged to the demons but was occupied by humans—and vow to destroy this hypocritical kingdom that has been established on the continent.

In order to relive the exhilarating feeling of Lord Alphonse leading his army out and the spirit of the heroes of the Fierce Eagles, this man wearing the Netherworld Ice Mask solemnly stepped through the main gate of the Fierce Eagles Palace.

The Demon Lord Fred Danlithel has arrived at the ruins of the human race's Eagle Palace.

Following behind was one of the demon generals known as the "Six Sages" by his clan, Van Titeren, renowned for his extremely powerful fire magic.

"Demon Lord, I truly do not understand why you value Elfons' memories so much. In my eyes, he is merely a clown who obediently follows his own script of destruction and plays the role of a hero. Yet, such a clown has brought about the demise of my kingdom!" Van unreservedly expressed his contempt and intense hostility towards the person the Demon Lord revered.

After a while, Fred ignored his subordinates and continued walking through the corridor to the entrance of the palace hall.

“If the Demon Lord is the reincarnation of Elfons, then my enemy today will not be Philsa, but you, the Demon Lord before me.”

Fred stopped in his tracks. A faint, scorching magical aura lingered in the air. Even though Van was facing his master, he wasn't bold enough to turn against him.

However, Fred still sensed that Vaina's intense killing intent was not directed at him, but rather spreading in all directions.

When Van returned to the Demon Palace in the Demon Realm after destroying the Tower of Reversal, he accidentally learned that the Demon Lord had obtained Elfons' memories. He mistakenly believed that the Demon Lord was Elfons and then launched a sneak attack on the Demon Lord.

The Temple of Ten Thousand Demons was also half destroyed by Brahma's raging fire.

The consequences were predictable—the Demon Lord subdued the suddenly enraged Brahma without hesitation and used his magic to beat him until he was covered in wounds.

Although infighting is not a good thing, it's still necessary to let the subordinates taste the power of the Demon Lord.

After learning that the Demon Lord was indeed not Elfons, Van realized he had misunderstood the Demon Lord and renewed his oath to serve him.

The other members of the Six Sages had always been helpless against Brahma's volatile temper.

Unlike Brahma, the Demon Lord was calm and showed no fear, only a slight impatience.

“General Van, your loyalty to the kingdom is indeed commendable. My views on the kingdom and Lord Elfons differ from yours, but we are of one mind: we both deny the value of the duchy’s existence on this continent today.”

“That’s for sure, otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen to ally with you. But why did the Demon Lord obtain Elfons’ memories? That’s what I’m wondering about.”

Fan's tone became slightly more respectful, as it would not be a good thing to anger the Demon Lord and start a war with him at this time and place.

"Please remember, it is not that I have gained the memories, but rather that the memories have taken up residence in me."

-

Sherry followed Philsa to their destination—the ruins of the Eagle Palace.
