Chapter 580

Soon, through the snow, they saw the Silver Knights, who had stopped and were waiting for the barbarian army.

The commander used a verbal command to halt the soldiers behind him and vigilantly watched for any enemy movements ahead.

The barbarian soldiers glared at the enemy soldiers' figures, which were almost invisible ahead.

The two armies were less than 200 meters apart.

The snow stopped. Everyone fell silent, observing each other's movements. The barbarian army was the first to make a move.

"Archers!"

The commander summoned archers, intending to test whether the enemy forces had entered the effective range of his own archers.

A bare-chested archer with thick arms walked to the front of the barbarian army and shot an arrow into the air with all his might.

The soldiers at the front of the barbarian army, including their commander, all followed the movement of the arrows high in the sky.

Until it hit the ice, the arrow didn't touch the enemy even slightly, and there was still a considerable distance between them.

"It's still too far away," the wizard judged.

"I know!" The commander stopped in front of his troops, preventing them from making any rash moves.

As for the Silver Army, when they saw that the enemy's arrows couldn't reach them, they dared not make a move. Finchley muttered, "Looks like they need our provocation!"

Douglas raised his bow.

“Not enough distance!” Priscilla stared ahead, hesitating as she held her bow.

However, Finchley ignored the woman's advice and took three arrows from the quiver on his back, nocking them on his bow.

The bowstring made a taut sound as it was pulled with great force.

"Swoosh!" With a sound, Douglas and Finchley's arrows were fired at the same time, their sounds almost overlapping.

Arrows fired by the Silver Knights flew swiftly through the gray sky.

Before he could even scream, the first archer to fall from the front of the barbarian army was followed by several soldiers behind him who also unfortunately became targets of arrows flying from the sky.

Finchley looked back at Priscilla, who was speechless.

The silver knight heard the enemy commander shout an incomprehensible command, and then witnessed the entire barbarian army begin to advance, gradually closing in. The distance between the two armies continued to shrink.

The row of warriors at the forefront of the Silver Knights—Douglas, Finchley, and others, including Priscilla—all raised their bows.

Snowstorms swept through the valley again, but the accuracy of the arrows remained undiminished.

The barbarian soldiers, especially those on the flanks, became easy targets for the arrows flying through the air, falling with screams of agony. Their formation began to fall into disarray.

The commander cannot allow his troops to be lost in vain to the enemy's arrows.

So a decision was made, and the order was given to the wizard: "Release the horde of monsters! Kill them!"

Soldiers behind them blew horns with eerie tones. The barbarian shield bearers formed a line, protecting the soldier blowing the horn.

Controlled by a strange horn, the beasts—black bears, lions, cheetahs, and tigers—suddenly became exceptionally ferocious. The wild beasts from the forest turned blood red in their eyes, bulged their muscles, and transformed into enormous monsters.

They burst forth from the barbarian army, eager for their prey ahead.

Seeing that the barbarian army had deployed magical beasts, Silver changed tactics. Finchley instructed, "Arrows are no longer effective, retreat! Prepare for battle!"

The samurai threw down their useless bows and quivers, and drew their swords.

Douglas was the first to rush forward, facing a monster much larger than himself, his martial arts skills were as easy as dealing with ants.

A lion pounced, and the big man seized the opportunity, swung his sledgehammer, and smashed the lion's head into a bloody mess.

The burly man, his eyes bloodshot with rage, shouted battle slogans that echoed across the entire battlefield, inspiring his comrades.

A portion of the gathered demons were lifted up by an invisible force.

The tornado appeared in the center of the battlefield, sweeping up everything in its path, including snowflakes and monsters, before crashing into the solid mountain wall.

Priscilla cast a whirlwind spell from the rear to assist in the battle.

The silver knights are facing the first wave of enemy forces—monsters—while the Nanman army soldiers take the opportunity to advance and join the battle.

Following Finchley's instructions, Silver continuously parried the monsters and retreated.

The fierce battle continued for several moments, and a blizzard gradually formed in the snow-covered mountains. The Southern army was somewhat frightened; to them, the blizzard was nothing short of a white hell. Even the ferocious demonic beasts instinctively felt a fear of the bitter cold.

The wizard was initially unsettled, but he still tried his best to shout to calm the soldiers down, and the Southern army began to fall into some disarray.

"Whoever throws themselves into disarray, I will personally kill them!"

After a fierce battle, the Silver Army retreated more than 300 meters. Priscilla noticed that the mountain walls on both sides had undergone subtle changes.

"Could it be... Alphonse's masterpiece! But how could he have done it in such a short time..."

Strangely shaped ice blocks have formed on the mountain walls on both sides. Judging from their shapes, they are not natural creations but seem to be man-made.

The ice blocks were shaped like battle towers. There were seven or eight such ice sculptures, and silver archers were waiting on them.

When the enemy arrived at this area, atop the mountain wall, all the Silver Archers looked down at the enemy, raised their bows, and concentrated their fire, using all the enemy soldiers as targets.

The barbarian archers prepared to retaliate and all fired towards the tower.

However, the towers were spread out, the ice sculptures refracted light, and the snow curtain obscured the view, making it difficult for them to aim properly. Almost all the arrows aimed at the silver archers missed their mark.

"Ignition! Use the rocket!"
