Chapter 581

When Haruja woke up, she found that she had slept for a full two hours while feeling hungry.

By now, it was completely dark, the tide had receded, and it was truly evening. She rubbed her eyes groggily and saw a small light in the distance, with wisps of smoke rising above it, and a fragrant aroma wafting through the air.

When Seris saw Haruja approaching, he didn't bother to ask how hungry she was and simply handed her a skewer of freshly grilled fish that emitted an enticing aroma.

She breathed on it and carefully put the fish into her mouth.

"It's so delicious!"

Haruja has a natural love for fish, especially river fish that are grilled to a golden brown and are rarely seen in big towns.

"By the way, be careful not to swallow the fish's innards!" Celis reminded her with a smile.

The wild river fish tasted delicious, and Haruja quickly devoured the whole grilled fish, playfully licking his lips with his tongue, looking as if he wanted more.

"Don't rush... there's still a lot. Sigh, you really are like a little kid." But he didn't say the last half of the sentence out loud, otherwise he would have been given another eye roll by his companion.

"It's so delicious!" Haruja kept praising his companion's grilling skills as he chewed.

For outdoor living, she felt that this level of cooking was simply top-notch.

"Hehe, actually my cooking skills are only good enough to eat without spitting it out. Compared to Philsa, I'm far behind."

"What? My brother can actually cook?" Haruja spat out a small fish bone and asked incredulously.

"Of course, didn't you know? His skills are among the best in our Knights Order. However, he's not a cook, and he's often away on missions, not staying at headquarters, so very few people get to taste his cooking."

Even I only tasted his cooking during that one occasional mission we took together at the Magic and Martial Arts Academy.

Unexpectedly, Haruja showed more interest in the Magic and Martial Arts Academy. "Magic and Martial Arts Academy! What kind of mission was it that time? Could you tell me about it?"

Because of this topic that connected the three of them, Seris and Haruja gradually became acquainted.

He still had a clear memory of the time he and Philsa returned to their alma mater together to carry out a mission.

That was three months after the two of them finished their studies and left the academy.

One night, a dimensional rift appeared in the sky above the Magic and Martial Arts Academy in the far north, from which a large amount of floodwater and monsters poured out.

The academy is situated on a mountain range. To prevent the residents of the city of Snova below from being disturbed by unknown monsters, the instructors worked through the night to create a sealed barrier, tightly surrounding the academy and preventing even a drop of floodwater or a single monster from falling down the mountain.

The amount of water gushing out of the cracks was astonishing, enough to submerge the towns below the mountain; the consequences of the flood alone would be unimaginable.

Because of the barrier, the far north has become a "Venice"—a water academy. A vast ocean has even completely submerged the first floor of the teaching building; everywhere is water, water, and more water.

Fortunately, there weren't many students in the academy, and most of them were outstanding students who were about to become magicians or magic swordsmen.

Therefore, rather than worrying about the students' safety, it's more accurate to say that this is a great internship opportunity for them.

The students went out to hunt monsters during the day;

At night, they would rest together on the second floor of the teaching building, which was not yet flooded.

By then, Seris and Firsa had already completed their studies.

In order to resolve this strange incident as soon as possible, the principal decided not to seek help from outsiders, but to recall the two graduates to assist.

"It sounds so interesting!" Haruja was very interested in it and longed to visit the adventurous "water park".

"When you learn that a terrifying 'sea dragon' is swimming four meters deep, you won't think that way anymore..."

Students discovered a fan-sized emerald scale near the teaching building where they were resting, leading them to deduce the existence of a sea dragon-type monster.

This is extremely dangerous. Seris and Philsa received an urgent order from the principal to eliminate this dangerous monster in the shortest possible time.

"That night, in preparation for battle and to replenish our strength and energy, your brother, Philsa, suggested going into the water to catch fish and then grilling them. Hmm, it seems you and he have one thing in common—you're both foodies."

"Alright, alright, let's not worry about that and keep talking..." Haruja urged as she finished the last skewer of fish.

Incredibly, the fish that appeared from the dimensional rift were edible.

I guess that water came from a river or a sea area.

It was then that Celis first tasted Firza's superb cooking skills, and also ate grilled fish.

However, at that time, Firza obtained some spices from his assistant.

The superb skills combined with unique seasonings make the grilled fish incredibly delicious, turning it into a delicacy that Serlis still finds unforgettable.

He later discovered that Philsa had known all along that Seris's magical martial arts could not be used in water, and that he was not good at underwater operations.

So, while fishing, he ventured into the water to scout the situation. That's why everyone was able to lure the sea dragon out so easily the next day.

"After a full day of fighting, and with the help of all the powerful magic teachers, Philsa and I dragged the sea dragon's corpse ashore. The incident is now over."
