Where did these human-faced demons come from?
A bad feeling washed over Seris, and before the monsters could attack en masse, he grabbed his gun and charged into battle.

Seris suddenly realized that this demon was the very human corpse that the human-faced demon had been devouring!
In other words, anyone bitten by a human-faced demon will...

From a distance, a giant dragon, tens of meters tall, its entire body wrapped in intense, scorching flames, rapidly rose from the center of Lefrem.

The raging flames engulfed the entire town, leaving no survivors—if any living beings ever existed in the town, they were either humanoid demons or humans on the verge of transforming into humanoid demons.
With the roar of the Fiery Dragon, the burning flames illuminated half the night sky, threatening to crush everything within its range to ashes.
The fiery dragon raised its flaming wings, its eyes glaring angrily at the sea of fire and the scorched afterimages of the demons wailing within, showing no pity whatsoever.
The firelight gradually faded from the night sky. From the town, amidst the remaining thick smoke, Seris gasped for breath.
Having exhausted more than half of his magic power, he ran with all his might out of the town's entrance, which was half destroyed by fire, and sped off in the original direction.
Please! Haruja, please don't let anything happen to you! If anything were to happen to her, Philsa, who entrusted her to him, would never forgive him, and he himself would never forgive himself either.
His steps crossed the original grassland, returning to the place where he and Haruja had met the townspeople.
The girl had collapsed to the ground, unconscious. Beside her lay several lifeless human-faced demons, their throats slit precisely by a sharp weapon, their breaths extinguished in an instant.
