Chapter 609

After saying that, Blackie put the photos away and reached out to lay the two skeletons flat. "Hey, no, they were killed."

Both sets of remains had obvious comminuted fractures of the ribs at the chest, and judging from the appearance of the wounds, they were likely killed by some kind of sharp knife piercing their chests.

It's clear that there were three people who came in, or at least three people, and one of them killed the other two.

Blackie's eyes gleamed, as if he were pondering something. He then began to examine the stone coffin, before beckoning to the Great Sage Equaling Heaven. Together, the two opened the coffin lid.

The coffin was opened, and it was completely empty. Hei Ye shook his head and muttered to himself, "It seems that someone else has already gotten to this tomb. But where did they come in from?" His gaze swept over the two skeletons on the ground.

A moment later, as if he had discovered something, Blackie looked up at the top of the stone chamber. There was a hole in the top of the chamber, big enough for one person to pass through, with a piece of hemp rope still attached to it.

Blackie's eyes lit up. "I never expected that they came in from the mountaintop. Maybe we have a chance to get out."

Back on the second floor of the main hall, the two groped their way out. Blackie said in a deep voice, "No matter what happens, you must stay calm. Every one of us who gets out alive is a good example."

As Blackie spoke, he led the Great Sage Equaling Heaven to the iron chain, reached into his pocket and pulled out something, then smeared black mud onto his own face and the Great Sage Equaling Heaven's face, instantly spreading a foul odor.

This is a paste made from a mixture of black dog urine, which is said to mask a person's scent. Tomb raiders would always carry it with them.

The two grabbed the iron chain and climbed up. The Monkey King's heart was pounding. The female corpse had chased them up there earlier. If she were still there now...

Suddenly, Blackie, who was climbing upwards, stopped and gestured for the Monkey King to turn off his flashlight. Then he made a quiet gesture, and the two of them fell onto the iron chain, trying their best to suppress their breathing.

Then, a very faint crawling sound came from the cliff above, as if something was crawling on the ground. Gradually, the sound became more and more frequent, as if thousands of things were crawling.

Cold sweat poured down his back, and Gouwa's eyes were filled with terror. By the faint light coming from the cave entrance above the cliff, he could clearly see ancient corpses crawling on the cliff, at least a hundred of them, all looking like zombies, wandering and crawling on the cliff as if searching for prey.

Fortunately, these ancient corpses were stiff and could only crawl. Otherwise, if they had crawled down, the two of them would have surely died.

About half an hour later, the ancient corpses finally left, and the Monkey King finally breathed a sigh of relief. He was about to speak when Blackie stopped him.

Blackie pointed upwards, a hint of fear showing in his eyes.

The Great Sage Equal to Heaven understood what Blackie meant. He looked up and saw a figure standing on the edge of the cliff, walking along the cliff face, seemingly investigating what lay below.

The Great Sage Equal to Heaven felt his scalp about to explode. This dark figure was clearly a vengeful ghost, or more precisely, a corpse demon. By the dim firelight, one could see that its face was a bloody mess, just like a skinned person. Its eyes were full of blood, and long fangs protruded from its mouth. Judging from its appearance, it should be able to climb the iron chain.

Gouwa kept praying in his heart. He had heard from Blackie that among the corpse demons, the blood demon was the most terrifying. The one in front of him was a blood demon. It was incredibly strong and ferocious. If you encountered it, you would only die. He guessed that those guys had encountered this blood demon, which was why they were in such a sorry state.

Blood Fiend lingered on the cliff, clearly searching for the two of them. Fortunately, it couldn't see them, otherwise, it would have been in serious trouble.

After a long while, Blood Fiend leaped away, his voice fading into the distance. A while later, Blackie signaled that it was time to climb up. Once on the edge of the cliff, Blackie observed carefully for a while longer, making sure Blood Fiend had left before climbing up.

The surroundings were pitch black. Apart from pine resin, the only other thing the two had was a flashlight in the hands of the Monkey King, but the power was almost gone. Without the flashlight, their situation would become even more difficult.

Looking around, Blackie gestured for the Great Sage Equaling Heaven to look towards the edge of the cliff. There was a stone path there, no more than half a meter wide, just wide enough for one person to walk through, leading to the middle of the cliff, where a dark cave entrance could be seen at the end.

"We'll get out of here," Blackie said in a low voice. "I hope everything goes smoothly."

Just then, the sound of blood-red energy leaping echoed from the darkness behind them. The two were terrified and, disregarding the danger of the stone path, turned and ran.

Blood Fiend roared from behind, chasing after them like a wild beast.

He ran into the stone cave and ran for about a hundred meters when another cliff appeared in front of him, connected by an iron chain. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven was overjoyed, "Isn't this the path we came in through?"

However, Blackie still frowned. Only then did the Great Sage Equal to Heaven realize that all the targets in the middle of the iron chain bridge had fallen, leaving only two iron chains. Walking across was impossible, and even climbing might not be possible.

Blood Fiend followed closely behind, his deep roar growing ever closer. The two had no choice but to climb up each of the iron chains.

They hadn't crawled far when Blood Fiend jumped out, roaring and emitting a strong stench. His mouth, full of sharp teeth, was wide open, and he was wearing tattered clothes.

Although Blood Fiend wanted to climb up, he was too clumsy to grab the chains and jumped around in frustration.

Six bizarre scenes

The two didn't care about anything else and only wanted to climb over. After finally reaching the middle of the cliff, they saw the Blood Demon behind them suddenly extend its sharp claws and grab the two iron chains. With a strength comparable to that of a wild bull, it tore the chains off in just a few moves.
