A moment later, specks of light came from below the passage. Ahead was another cliff. The Monkey King climbed up the cliff and realized that he had come back again. Below was the place where prisoners were buried alive, and directly in front was the 'Second Heavenly Lord's Burial Site'.
At that moment, those people were moving things inside, their faces filled with excitement, as if they had discovered a priceless treasure.
The Great Sage Equaling Heaven, who was watching from above, was so terrified that his face turned ashen. There were two shadows clearly behind the four people, but they were completely unaware. As if they had gone mad, they were circling around the stone coffin that was twice the size of a normal coffin directly above them.
“This should be the real tomb owner. Judging from this, this person must have been at least a tribal chief or higher during his lifetime, and is very likely the ruler of the ancient Shu people,” one of them said.
“That’s right, this is the ‘Second Heavenly Lord’ burial’ recorded in ancient books. Only the ancient people of prehistoric times knew this burial method. All the secrets of the ancient Shu people should be contained in this.”
"Then let's open it quickly!" one of them exclaimed impatiently.
The other three nodded in unison, then stood aside and together pushed open the lid of the stone coffin.
With a 'clang,' the coffin lid was pushed open, revealing another coffin inside. Clearly, the outer one was just a sarcophagus. But then something strange happened: the group of people looked as if they had discovered a priceless treasure, their faces lighting up with ecstasy. Meanwhile, the two shadows that had appeared behind them had vanished.
"Haha, we're going to be rich! Any one of these things would be priceless!"
"Now we'll never have to worry about anything for the rest of our lives. All these things are enough for us to travel far and wide, and we'll never run out of money to eat, drink, and have fun for the rest of our lives."
“Hehe…” one of them suddenly chuckled sinisterly, a sound that sent chills down the spine in this place. “These things all belong to me. None of you will get any of them.”
"Hehehe..." another cackled, "These things belong to the dead; only the dead can obtain them."
At that moment, all of their flashlights went out, plunging the scene into darkness and a terrifying silence.
Sixth, trapped in a desperate situation
Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered the deathly silence, followed by sounds of tearing and ripping, then several pig-like howls, before the scene fell silent again.
After a long while, in the dark cemetery, a flashlight was turned on, and the Monkey King saw that three of the four people were already lying in pools of blood, and the heads of two of them had been chopped off, just like pigs being slaughtered.
The remaining one was holding the pig-slaughtering knife that could ward off ghosts, dripping with blood. He looked dazed, and after a while, he let out a terrified scream, dropped his flashlight, and ran out shouting.
The Monkey King trembled violently, nearly wetting himself in fear, and was speechless.
A rustling sound came from the darkness as something crawled on the ground. The Monkey King saw rotting ancient corpses crawl out of the darkness and devour the three people's bodies like hungry beasts. The scene was as bloody and terrifying as could be.
Shivering, he turned back and entered another passage, only to be horrified to find himself back in the main hall, where all was quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
This passage led directly to the main hall. Emerging from it, I found myself in the hall's plaza. The vast plaza was empty except for me. The surroundings were pitch black, as if some ferocious beast was lurking nearby, watching me intently.
"What should I do? What should I do? Blackie is gone too. It seems I'm really going to die here," the Monkey King cried, clutching his head and squatting on the ground.
The door to the main hall was ajar, and the inside was pitch black, like a gateway to the underworld. At this moment, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven dared not go in, but he could not retreat either.
I turned off my headlamp and blended into the darkness, so at least I couldn't see anything. In this environment, not being able to see anything meant I wouldn't feel so scared.
A 'crack' sound came from the darkness, and judging from the sound, it should have come from the main hall. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven's heart tightened, and then he saw lights on the second floor of the main hall, with flickering flames.
"It's the Soul-Shocking Lamp, could it be Master Hei?"
The light flashed briefly and then disappeared. The Monkey King hesitated, now on the verge of despair. He no longer trusted Blackie, suddenly realizing that he didn't understand Blackie at all, and even suspected that he was just a tool Blackie was using. He recalled Blackie's words when he came in: "The most terrifying thing in the world is not ghosts and monsters, but the human heart."
"But what does Blackie want to use me for?"
"Forget it, I shouldn't think too much about it now. Damn it, I'll just go for it and give it a try," the Monkey King thought fiercely, and tiptoed inside.
Upon reaching the second floor, they found no trace of Blackie. Looking around, they realized that the entire hall was built against the mountain, or more accurately, half of the hall.
Last time he came in, he ran into Blackie, so the Great Sage Equaling Heaven didn't bother to check what the second floor looked like. Now, shining his headlamp on it, he discovered that in a corner of the second floor, there were some strange human-shaped statues piled up. Some of them had no arms, some had no eyes or ears, and only one pair of eyes with a strange smile.
There are about ten statues, all of which have one thing in common: their faces are all white, as if they have been covered with a thick layer of plaster, and they emit an eerie glow under the lights.
As the miner's lamp shone on the ground, the Monkey King discovered that there were footprints everywhere, clearly left by the people who had come in earlier. However, what surprised him was that among these footprints, there was a pair that was clearly different. Wherever the footprints went, there were specks of white powder scattered, and they walked step by step towards the third floor.
