Xiang Fei and the others also became serious. "Judging from its appearance, it really does resemble the legendary ancient coffin of the gods. Could it be that the ancient Shu people dug it out from a sacred land back then?"
"What do we do now? Should we open it?" the old blind man asked.
"This... let's think about it and then decide," Xiang Fei replied. I nodded in agreement. This is no joke; the gods cannot be desecrated. If we really incur divine wrath, we'll be in deep trouble.
The ancient coffin of the gods, though not large, was quite heavy, like a single piece of stone. After observing it for a while, the old blind man asked again, "Well, should we open it?"
None of the three of us spoke. The old blind man grew impatient. "Why worry about so much? Gods are just myths and legends. In my opinion, this thing is just like the Shu Immortal, a deception. If you don't dare to open it, let me do it. I've calculated my own fate and I'll live peacefully to ninety years old. I don't believe this thing can steal my destiny."
We were speechless for a moment. This old blind man was bolder than anyone else, but we couldn't come up with any reason to refute him, so we could only acquiesce.
The old blind man spat on his hand, rolled up his sleeves, and looked like he was about to do something big. "You all stand back, I'm about to open the coffin."
The old blind man was quite skilled; after we stepped back, he slowly lifted the lid of the ancient coffin with both hands.
The coffin lid was slowly opened, and it was clear that the old blind man was also very nervous, his hands trembling slightly.
Finally, the lid was fully opened, and there was nothing unusual. We breathed a sigh of relief and quickly crowded around to see what was inside.
The coffin was lined with brocade, and in the center was an object wrapped in gold cloth, which was entirely woven with gold thread and shimmered under the light.
What could be wrapped in gold cloth?
The old blind man had already picked up the object and unwrapped the golden cloth. What appeared before us was a piece of bone, a human leg bone. However, this could not possibly be a human bone. The bone was as white as jade, as if it were about to turn into jade. Moreover, there was a shocking drop of blood on it, which looked as if it had just flowed out of the body. Just one glance made us feel as if we had been struck by lightning. It seemed to contain enormous power, making our bodies tremble.
"Could this be the divine bone?" I asked nervously.
Suddenly, Longshan shook violently. We were startled, thinking it was about to collapse, and quickly scrambled to the ground. Just then, the old blind man who had been looking at the divine bone suddenly revealed a strange smile, quickly picked up the divine bone and the golden cloth, and jumped down like a monkey.
The scene unfolded so suddenly that we didn't even have time to react. By the time we did, the old blind man had already jumped down, turned back and gave us a strange smile before disappearing into the darkness.
Longshan shook even more violently; it was clearly about to collapse.
"Let's forget about the old blind man for now. The coffin has been opened, which has angered the heavens. We need to get out of here quickly," Xiang Fei said.
Seeing that Longshan was about to collapse, we couldn't care less about anything else. Saving our lives was the most important thing. Fortunately, Longshan didn't collapse immediately, and we scrambled down to safety.
"Cough cough," I got up from the ground, with a big bruise on my head, a cut on my body, and several holes in my clothes. Xiang Fei wasn't in much better shape.
"Let's get out of here first," ignoring the pain, the three of us ran towards the exit, only to be horrified to find that the stone door had been closed and could not be opened at all.
"Could it be that old blind man, that bastard?" Xiang Fei was furious, not expecting to be fooled by the old blind man.
At this point, the black cat gestured for us to climb to the top of the cave first, otherwise we would be buried alive if Longshan collapsed.
Black Cat took the lead and pulled Xiang Fei and me up. When we reached the middle, there was a loud crash, and Longshan collapsed. Stones rolled everywhere, and the coffin of the former Shu emperor rolled to one side.
After a while, the scene quieted down. Wiping the cold sweat from my forehead, I realized that my whole body ached terribly, and I felt like my bones were about to break.
At this moment, the black cat's voice rang out, "Quickly look at the coffin of the Former Shu emperor."
Xiang Fei and I then noticed that with the collapse of Longshan, the coffin of the Former Shu emperor and his burial objects had rolled onto the ground.
The coffin was broken, and a black wooden coffin rolled out from it, crashing into a stone with a 'bang', then flipping over and opening its lid.
We stared intently, holding our breath; the atmosphere was strangely eerie.
It took us a while to relax, but nothing crawled out of the coffin.
"Let's go down and take a look," Xiang Fei said.
We climbed down, and the burial goods were scattered everywhere. If other people saw this, they would be devastated.
When we reached the coffin of the Former Shu emperor, we looked at each other, then squatted down and turned the coffin over.
The black wooden coffin, made of some unknown wood, was completely undamaged. When we turned it over and looked inside, we found that Wang Jian, the emperor of the Former Shu, had become a mummified corpse. Although his face was no longer clearly visible, we could still confirm that this was Wang Jian's body from his dragon robe and crown.
Sixty-eight sudden changes
At first glance, we noticed something was wrong. In a place like this, even if it couldn't be preserved intact and become a skeleton, it wouldn't become a mummified corpse. Moreover, this mummified corpse looked like it had been drained by something. Normal mummified corpses, although withered, still have flesh and skin. Wang Jian's corpse, however, looked like skin and bones, with only a layer of skin left. It looked very strange.
