I'm going to Mount Emei tomorrow. I've already made plans. I'll use taking Wang Ling to Mount Emei as an excuse to get away for a few days. That way, I can kill two birds with one stone, get things done, and spend time with Wang Ling. Otherwise, she always complains that I don't spend time with her.
When I take Wang Ling there, it's definitely just for her to have fun. I absolutely won't let her get involved in this matter in the slightest, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable.
When my mom saw me come back and the things I was carrying, she got happy and quickly got busy cooking several dishes, all of which are my favorites. After greeting my mom, I went upstairs, turned on the computer, made a cup of tea, and leisurely started reading the news. I don't have many hobbies; I just read the news, read novels, and maybe play some shooting games.
I glanced at the news, but it was all irrelevant or made me want to vomit, so I started playing a game. Before I even finished one game, my mom called me from downstairs to eat.
After I went downstairs for dinner, my mom asked me to buy some things to visit my third uncle. She said his health has been deteriorating day by day and he probably doesn't have much time left, so she told me to visit him whenever I have time.
I nodded in response. After eating, I went to town and bought a big bag of fruit, then went to my third uncle's house.
When I arrived, my third uncle was being helped out to bask in the sun by my eldest uncle and the others. When he saw me, he waved to me kindly and said, "Zhiwa, I heard you went to the city. When have you been back?"
I put down the fruit, moved a stool, and started chatting with my third uncle. I mentioned that I might really go to Hunan in a while, and told him to take good care of himself. I told him that when I came back from Hunan, I would bring him some local specialties from the Liu family's ancestral homeland.

"Okay, okay. Although I've never been to Hunan in my life, seeing you go there will fulfill a wish. Remember to bring back some soil from there. Even if we can't return to our ancestral home, at least it'll be like returning to our roots."
After chatting for a while, I said goodbye to my third uncle. As soon as I got home, Wang Ling came over. When she saw me, she glared at me and rolled her eyes. I smiled and told her that I was free recently and would take her to Mount Emei for a few days tomorrow. I told her to go home and prepare tonight.
"Hey, is the sun rising in the west? Something feels weird," Wang Ling stared at me suspiciously. "Tell me honestly, did you do something bad outside and feel guilty, so you want to make it up to me?" "You're overthinking it. Actually, I also want to get away from Mount Emei to clear my head. I heard that now is the best time to see the scenery there. When winter comes, the mountains are covered with fallen leaves, and snowflakes are already falling on the mountaintops."
"Wow, we can't miss it! I haven't seen snow in years. We've got a deal, so don't go back on your word."
"Of course, lying is child's play."
In the afternoon, of course, I should go to town to take a walk, check out the shops, and also visit the old blind man. I heard that the old man's business has expanded recently, and his reputation is growing. Many people from other places are coming from far away to find him.
I went to town with Wang Ling. As soon as we got off the bus, we ran into some old classmates. I had poor grades in school and only attended junior high school before dropping out. My old classmates also all went to junior high school.
The people I'm running into now are all people I knew well back then, and they're all married with children now. Especially the two female classmates, their kids are old enough to call me "uncle" and run errands. How am I, an old bachelor, supposed to feel?
I awkwardly greeted them and chatted for a bit before an old classmate asked, "Is this your new girlfriend? I remember seeing a different girlfriend with you last time."
I was immediately speechless. Why did she have to bring up such a sensitive topic? I bet Wang Ling was already glaring at me from the side.
"Ahem, I don't remember. You must have seen it wrong last time." After saying that, I quickly made an excuse that I had something to do and pulled Wang Ling away.
Wang Ling will definitely be sulking for a while, and I'm too lazy to explain. I'll just pretend I didn't see anything. When I opened the shop, I immediately noticed that the shop had been ransacked. "It's been robbed," I immediately realized.
I then checked the store and found nothing missing. The thief must have entered from the back, but didn't steal anything.
After thinking about it for a moment, I realized that someone must want to get something important from me. "Is it the map to the land of immortality or something else?"
Because I had already suspected something, I hid some important things away, and now I feel secretly glad about it.
Wang Ling asked me if I wanted to call the police, but I shook my head and said no, calling the police wouldn't do much good for things in the underworld, and even if they came, they wouldn't be able to find out anything.
After tidying up the shop again, Wang Ling and I went for a stroll around town, eating some local street food like cold noodles, mung bean jelly, and potatoes. It was quite relaxing.
When we finally found the old blind man's stall, we were quite surprised. After not seeing him for a few days, the old fellow had set up a shop and was now making a living by fortune telling. He sat there sipping tea, living a leisurely life.
I walked over and called out, "Old blind man, tell my fortune."
"Oh, Master Liu is back! I heard you went to the city to do feng shui for a big boss. How did it go?"
"It's definitely all better now. Enough with the nonsense, give me a fortune reading," I said, sitting down on the stool in front of him.
"That won't do, Master Liu, don't you know that the more you calculate your fate, the worse it gets? Every time you calculate your fate, you lose one more life, and you become poorer and poorer."
"It's nothing, come and tell my fortune."
"No, no, we're old acquaintances, how can we wrong an old acquaintance?" The old blind man shook his head.
"You old charlatan, you do know some rules, don't you? If it doesn't count, it doesn't count. I heard your business is booming and your reputation is growing. Is that true?"
