never mind

The little monk didn't reply to me; his expression was blank as he walked past me. I was a little confused and thought to myself, "These masters are really strange."

"Never mind, whether they're strange or not is none of my business. I don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. These past few days have been filled with seeing headless corpses and going to jail; I've really had enough!" "You beast!" I'd only walked a short distance when I suddenly heard the old monk's angry shout. I quickly turned around and saw the young monk walking past me holding a kitchen knife, charging directly at the old monk with the knife raised high, looking like he was about to devour him! "No!" I yelled, running towards the young monk. This young monk had gone mad! The old monk was my savior! How could I just watch this young monk go insane! "Wait, benefactor! Wait!" Before I'd taken two steps, I heard the old monk's terrified voice. I was confused; why wasn't the old monk stopping the mad young monk and instead stopping me? This whole thing sounds long, but it only took a few seconds. The little monk rushed over really fast, and in no time he was in front of the old monk, and he brought the cleaver down! "Abbot!" I cried out. The little monk's cleaver had already hit the old monk's head. I instinctively took two more steps forward.

As I walked, my chest suddenly ached again. The black hand that had been crawling on my chest suddenly stretched out from my chest! It was as if an arm had grown out of thin air from my chest! The black hand stretched longer and longer, until it reached the little monk's head and grabbed his hand. In my extreme terror, I couldn't see the old monk's expression at all, and I only heard a long, faint sigh.

In the end, you still won.

After saying this, the black-handed man grabbed the young monk's hand and slashed at the old monk again. This time, the slash landed squarely on the old monk's neck, and his head was severed! After the old monk's head was cut off, a huge amount of blood gushed from his neck, just like when I saw a police officer being beheaded. Then, the old monk's headless corpse turned around and knelt down in the direction of the Buddha statue in the main hall.

"Abbot!" After the old monk died, the young monk seemed to regain his senses and let out a loud scream. The young monk turned his head and stared at me with his bright red eyes, shouting loudly.

"It's all your fault! You're the one who killed the abbot!" As soon as he finished speaking, the little monk's expression froze, and then his head fell off.

"Thump! Glug glug..." The little monk's head rolled at my feet, his eyes staring at me, as if questioning me, "Why? Why did you?" My legs went weak, and I collapsed to the ground. The dark shadow returned to my chest, transforming into a black hand that continued to grip my heart.

"Ha... Hoo-ha..." The main hall was quiet, with only the sound of my open mouth breathing. The blood donated by the old monk and the young monk came together and turned into a stream that spread to my feet.

"Get away! Get away from me!" I tried to get away from the stream of blood, but my body was weak and I couldn't move at all. I could only shout helplessly.

"You old bastard! What's going on?" Just when I was feeling helpless, the old beggar's voice came from the doorway. I suddenly had the strength and scrambled to the doorway.

"Grandpa! Grandpa! The abbot is dead!" I had barely finished speaking when I saw the old beggar at the door also slump down, his expression even more frightened than mine, muttering incessantly.

"Dead? Impossible! How could he be dead? How could he possibly be dead?" The two of us sat at the entrance of the main hall, neither of us saying anything more. Time passed quietly, and my eyes began to grow heavy. I gradually closed them.

"Huh?!" When I opened my eyes again, it was already daylight. I had actually fallen asleep right here at the door! The old beggar was nowhere to be seen; I had no idea where he had gone.

I rubbed my legs, which were numb from being pressed down. Although my T-shirt was torn, my shirt was fine. I remembered Lei Yu's phone number, which I had put in my inner pocket.

"What's the use of finding him?" I felt utterly helpless, but in this situation, who else could I turn to if not the police? I smiled bitterly, took out my phone, and dialed Lei Yu's number according to the information on the note.

I didn't know where I was, but Lei Yu seemed to have a way of locating me. In just a short while, a large group of police officers arrived, led by Lei Yu.

I went back to the police station again, but this time I didn't go into the interrogation room. Instead, I went to Lei Yu's office. Lei Yu even brought me breakfast, but I couldn't eat it at all.

"Is this what happened last night?" Lei Yu carefully wrote down what I said in a notebook, then looked up and continued to talk to me.

"Um.

You probably wouldn't believe me even if I told you.

“This thing can’t be used as a confession or evidence. I won’t lie to you, but after we let you go yesterday, we sent a bunch of people to monitor you.”

Although the police did nothing wrong, as a normal person, it's still unsettling to hear that you're being monitored.

Lei Yu noticed my undisguised disgust and continued speaking.

"After all, such two major murders have occurred. You wouldn't believe me if I just let you go, would you? Now I'm starting to believe you."

"You believe me?" I couldn't believe it. I almost didn't believe my own words. I'd rather believe I was dreaming than believe it was real. How could Lei Yu believe me? "Yeah, do you know where you were last night?" I shook my head. When Lei Yu saw me shake my head, his expression gradually became serious.
