Take the divine blade

Chang'e entered, glanced at everyone present, looked at the Jade Emperor directly above, and then looked at the Queen Mother of the West beside the Jade Emperor with a somewhat surprised expression.

At this moment, the Jade Emperor was already captivated by Chang'e's pure and beautiful appearance, completely disregarding the fact that the Queen Mother of the West was beside him. When the Queen Mother of the West saw Chang'e's gaze and looked at Haotian, she was furious, but she couldn't speak up due to the situation.

Although Chang'e felt a bit contempt for Haotian's appearance, she did not look down on him. After all, she knew the background of this Jade Emperor Haotian and dared not really regard him as a lustful idiot. She knew her own affairs. It seemed that the Jade Emperor had some minor grudges with her sect.

Just then, Buddha suddenly called out from the side, "Fairy Chang'e, this humble monk has something to say." Buddha actually stood up and bowed, which surprised the others present.

However, those in the audience who knew the situation did not find Tathagata's actions strange. It was not, as some people thought, that Tathagata had taken a fancy to Chang'e and was therefore so polite to her, but rather because of Chang'e's status.

Those who have lived long enough know who Chang'e is. Back when the witches and demons were rampant, she was Hou Yi's wife. Who is Hou Yi? He was one of the few below the Ancestral Witches, capable of fighting against Donghuang Taiyi, who wielded the Chaos Bell, and even managing to injure Taiyi in the end. His cultivation was truly extraordinary.

Those who know more clearly understand that Chang'e is a disciple of Pangu Xuantian Saint of Penglai Island in the East Sea. All the second-generation disciples of Penglai Island are quasi-saints, and they are all people with great merits. Chang'e ranks fifth, and her incarnation is "Moon Granny". She has done a great service in arranging marriages for people all over the world. With the strength of Penglai Island, it is truly incomparably powerful.

Buddha was originally a member of the Jie Sect and had some connections with Penglai Island. Although he had several disagreements with Penglai Island after betraying the sect, it did not affect the respect shown to him on the surface. Besides, it was not unreasonable for Buddha to bow to Chang'e. Not to mention the great merits of Chang'e, she could accept the bows of most people in the world. Just considering Chang'e's background, she was worthy of Buddha's bow. Chang'e was transformed from the Taiyin Star and was of equal status to Di Jun and Taiyi of the Taiyang Star. Di Jun and the others were of the same generation as the Three Pure Ones and Jieyin. Therefore, it was not a big deal for Chang'e to receive Buddha's bow.

However, Chang'e rarely appears in public; even when performing meritorious deeds, it's usually "Moon Granny" who does it. Aside from those from ancient times, few people know Chang'e's origins after the subsequent great wars. Most of the celestial officials in Heaven at this time either ascended during the Investiture of the Gods period or were human beings who ascended afterward—they know absolutely nothing. Some people in the audience were secretly imagining a scene where Buddha and the Jade Emperor become rivals for love, fighting over it. (c. Mobile novel reading access wa)

Well, this is indeed a question worth imagining. Imagine the Buddha, transformed into a gigantic being, bathed in golden light, with a massive bump on his head resembling a small mountain. On one side is the Jade Emperor, wielding a sword and locked in a fierce battle with the Buddha, while on the other side is the Queen Mother, who is beating the Jade Emperor like a madwoman. Hmm, I've never seen a scene of such jealousy and rivalry. You can imagine it yourselves.

Enough of this digression. Let's talk about how Buddha bowed to Chang'e, and Chang'e returned the bow, saying, "This humble woman greets Buddha." It was a rather bland remark, which created a slightly awkward silence.

Seeing this, the Buddha said nothing more and sat down again. Some people below were thinking: "The Buddha's been humiliated. Sigh... he should have said so earlier! How could a person with a pig's head attract a fairy? Even though the Jade Emperor is married, he's still quite handsome, isn't he? You, Buddha, look no different from a pig. It would be a miracle if a fairy took a liking to you." (Secretly mocking the Buddha, thinking, "Who told him not to bless me?")

Taibai Jinxing said from the side: "Last time, that demon monkey caused trouble and disturbed the Heavenly Court. Today, thanks to the immeasurable power of the Buddha, he was captured. To repay the Buddha's great virtue, the Jade Emperor is holding the 'Peaceful Heaven Assembly' here, which is called a 'banquet and dance' (not a striptease). Just now, we invited a fairy to perform a song and dance to add to the festivities."

These words immediately enraged Chang'e. She thought to herself, "You, Jade Emperor, are utterly rude! You actually expect me to show my face here just to perform a dance?" Just as she was about to refuse, she reconsidered. After all, the Jade Emperor was established by the Dao Ancestor and was nominally the ruler of the Three Realms. She was, firstly, a disciple of a sage, and secondly, the mistress of the Moon Palace, and was nominally under the Jade Emperor's jurisdiction. However, she couldn't very well embarrass him in public and make everyone feel uncomfortable. She thought to herself, "Well done, Jade Emperor! This time, I'll make you suffer."

Having made up her mind, Chang'e pretended to accept the order and began to dance in the Golden Palace. It was beautiful, truly beautiful. Chang'e was indeed worthy of being called "a beauty" in later generations. Her graceful dance steps, with her willow ribbons swaying, revealed a touch of charm, leaving everyone present dumbfounded and drooling.

The Buddha frowned. He was indeed highly skilled and protected by Buddhist teachings. As he circulated his mind, he discovered that Chang'e's dance steps were unusual and somewhat strange. Every smile and gesture revealed a hint of seduction. If his cultivation had not been higher than Chang'e's, he would have fallen for it without realizing it. Even so, the Buddha felt that he was somewhat overwhelmed. It was truly a case of "even the Buddha himself must return to secular life."

The Chang'e Dance is unlike any other dance. It originates from a peculiar technique found in the "Penglai Treasure Manual," created by Xuan Tian based on his understanding of the Netherworld Blood Lotus Dao and summarizing various demonic cult methods. Unlike the demonic cult's "Heavenly Demon Charm Dance," which always carries an aura of lewdness, the "Heavenly Charm Dance" directly utilizes the caster's primordial spirit, communicating with the power of the Dao through its dance steps. This causes a tremor in the minds of others, making the dancer appear incomparably holy. Any thought of such a person is considered a desecration. Those affected experience a profound spiritual worship, their minds drawn to the dance, as if possessed by a demon. Their actions become completely uncontrollable, their lives and deaths entirely at the whim of the caster. It is truly a beautiful art of murder.
