After discussing it with Xiang Fei and the others, we decided to rest for a few days before taking action. I also went home. Fortunately, my mother didn't scold me this time because government officials had already come and said that I was now a rising star in the county, attracting investment for the county, which could be considered working for the government and doing legitimate business.
One hundred and six broken copper pieces
Actually, I still want to stop pursuing this matter, but now it's getting more and more complicated, involving more and more people, and the waters are getting deeper and deeper. It's probably not as simple as I think to walk away unscathed.
Prepare everything you need at home. Chairman Tianyu had already said that he would cover all the expenses for finding the place to become an immortal, and if the search was successful, he would also receive a large reward.
While I still have a few days to rest, I need to study the Yin-Yang Feng Shui Records, as well as the Soul-Suppressing Lamp and the Yin-Yang Plate.
The Soul-Suppressing Lamp is too mysterious; I still can't figure it out. The Yin-Yang Disc, on the other hand, was left by our ancestors and is used by Yin-Yang Masters. Its importance goes without saying.
While I was online that night, that person from Mount Emei sent me a message again, saying that I should go to Mount Emei sometime and that there would be things that would interest me. He also left his phone number with me. I didn't reply, but I just wrote down the phone number.
"Mount Emei...it seems I'll have to make a trip there again!"
Early the next morning, Wang Chengyuan, the funeral director from last time, came to my door, saying that he absolutely had to ask me to come and take a look, because his family had really had enough lately, and they were wetting the bed every day, so they were afraid to sleep at home.
I happened to have some free time, so I went over. His family lived in another village. It was a newly built three-story house, which was considered quite nice in our area.
Once inside, I looked around but didn't find anything wrong. The place was just average, neither good nor bad.
I walked around the entire building, and finally climbed onto the roof beam to check it carefully, but still found nothing. I wondered, "Could it be that someone tampered with it, or it's a feng shui problem?"
"I've never heard of someone wetting the bed every day because of bad scenery. The carpenter must have done something to it."
I took out the Yin-Yang line. Actually, the Yin-Yang line is similar to the ink line used by carpenters. Master Hei knew the secret method of using the Yin-Yang line.
I know how to use the Yin-Yang line, but I don't know if it works. I strung the Yin-Yang line down on the roof beam, recited a few incantations, and then flicked the Yin-Yang line on the roof beam.
Then I saw a paper figure float down from above. Just as I was about to pick it up, I saw a tiny human figure sitting in the middle of the roof beam, smiling at me. It was transparent and illusory, but that smile sent a chill down my spine.
I picked up a talisman and struck it, and the figure disappeared. I walked over, picked up the paper figure, and was quite surprised when I looked at it.
The paper figure appeared to have been soaked in rice wine, and it was holding a chamber pot. To my surprise, it had talismans written on it by a feng shui master.
"Who could it be?" I wondered to myself. Right now, the only people in the whole county who practice feng shui and yin-yang are from the Liu family. The others are at most half-baked. Of course, Xiang Fei and the old blind man don't do this kind of work.
After thinking about it for a while, I asked Wang Chengyuan who made the furniture and beams for his house. The name sounded unfamiliar, and I probably didn't know them.
I didn't eat at his house; I went straight home and asked around the village about the carpenter, but no one recognized him. It seems he's new to the trade. Anyway, I already know his address, so I'll go check him out another day.
Just as we were about to have lunch, the Monkey King unexpectedly came back, grinning foolishly, and sat down at our doorstep.
It looked like he hadn't eaten for two days, so I scooped a bowl for him.
"Hehe," the Monkey King chuckled and nodded at me, then picked up the bowl and began to eat heartily. He didn't even need chopsticks; he just grabbed the food with his shiny black hands. After he finished eating, he pulled a tattered cloth out of his ragged clothes.
He shoved it into my hand and said, "Zhiwa, be careful, the devil is all around you. Don't show this cloth to anyone else." Then he ran out in a frenzy.
After a few seconds of surprise, I unfolded the tattered cloth in my hand, and my expression immediately changed. I was shocked. "Isn't this the same map as that 'Land of Immortality'?"
“Hey, no, this should be part of it. It’s about the ‘Immortal Land’. The one Wang Erwa brought last time was a picture of the location of the ‘Immortal Land’. This one is a picture of the ‘Immortal Land’.” I looked at it carefully and realized what was going on. I quickly went upstairs and into my room.
I spread the rag on the table and tried my best to repair the damaged parts. Then I took out a magnifying glass and examined it closely.
The more I looked, the more astonished I became. This picture was not just a map, but also a magic circle. It seemed that the place in the picture was a huge magic circle, and in the center of the magic circle, I could see the character "仙" (immortal) written in ancient Shu script.
It took me a while to calm down. I put the map under my bed in the cabinet and locked it again just in case. This map is too important; it's the key to finding the place to become an immortal. But where did the Monkey King get it? Did he take it from the Shu Tomb?
I also cleaned and tidied the room in the afternoon, organized the things I needed, and checked what was missing so I could go to the county to get it done tomorrow.
I have two large wooden boxes that my grandfather left me. It is said that my great-grandfather used them during the Republic of China era. I have only opened them once in all this time. They are filled with things used for Taoist rituals.
I moved it out, and I was going to take the things out to air them in the sun. I opened it and took everything out one by one.
