Gouchen died.

When Gouchen perished, the constellation representing the Great Emperor Gouchen in the heavens also fell in sorrow amidst the surrounding stars, signifying that the Great Emperor Gouchen would never exist again in the Three Realms. At the same time, in several places beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens, several sighs were heard, but no one heard them.

As the Ziwei Emperor watched Gouchen Star fall, his eyes flickered uncertainly, perhaps grieving for his elder brother. The Haotian Emperor, however, remained completely oblivious to his thoughts, showing no unusual reaction whatsoever, as if it were utterly unrelated to him.

In Nuwa's palace, as she watched Gouchen perish, Nuwa sighed and turned to the void, saying, "Did he have to die?"

The void trembled, creating ripples, and finally a figure appeared. Nuwa was both amazed and delighted; this move was almost comparable to that of the Dao Ancestor Hongjun. After the figure solidified, it was Xuantian. Xuantian sighed inwardly; seemingly similar, but in reality, they were far inferior. When the Dao Ancestor Hongjun appeared, there was not a sound, but his commotion was rather large. Of course, by "large," he meant relative to a sage; just now, no more than six people in the world could sense his move at close range.

Xuan Tian sighed, then turned to Nuwa and smiled, "His death this time was worthwhile."

Nuwa asked in surprise, "What do you mean?"

“Bi Fang is a figure who attained enlightenment in ancient times, but he has been hindered by the demon race and has not made any progress until now. If he can overcome this tribulation, his path to enlightenment will be unobstructed in the future,” Xuan Tian said with a smile.

Nuwa understood immediately. Bifang's talent was unparalleled. He was a primordial beast who attained enlightenment in the ancient times, so his talent was undoubtedly exceptional. However, during the ancient demon court period, he was appointed as a demon god and dedicated the first half of his life to the demon race's heavenly court, working diligently. Later, when the demon race's power fell into other hands, Bifang also secured the position of the Great Emperor Gouchen. If he hadn't been burdened by the affairs of the demon race, given his talent and the time he had spent cultivating, he would probably be no less than ten Golden Crows Lu Ya by now. It must be said that Bifang was truly a demon saint, and he deserved the title of Great Saint of the demon race.

Thirty-seven Lishan Old Mothers

Xuan Tian turned to Nuwa and smiled, "My grand-disciple has arrived; I need to make some arrangements."

Upon hearing this, Nuwa immediately understood his thoughts and smiled, "That's how it is."

Xuan Tian turned and descended to the mortal realm. His understanding of the Great Dao had reached an unfathomable level. Even though he couldn't yet match Hongjun, he wasn't far off. Hongjun's Great Dao was no longer suitable for his cultivation; his pursuit of the Dao had reached a different watershed, distinct from Hongjun's. According to Xuan Tian's understanding, there are three thousand Great Daos, and any method can lead to sainthood and enlightenment. However, the methods used to achieve sainthood differ. Like Hongjun, who severed his three corpses to attain enlightenment, the higher and more powerful the innate magical artifact he used to anchor his obsession, the greater his achievement. Why use innate magical artifacts? Because innate magical artifacts contain unchanging rules, the omnipresent "Great Dao." When a person's obsession merges with the Great Dao, that person becomes the unchanging rule itself. Therefore, Hongjun is the Heavenly Dao, hence his invincibility. But rules are countless, and so are the Great Daos; Hongjun is unique, but not invincible outside the Heavenly Dao.

But let's get back to the main point. Xuan Tian could have prevented Gouchen's demise; it wouldn't have been defying the heavens. However, he didn't because he had his own plans. Under the will of Heaven, Buddhism should flourish. The great battle between Gouchen and Bai Qi was merely a clash of chess pieces among several sages; their fates were simply calculated by the sages. The sages use Heaven and Earth as their chessboard, and all things as their pieces; every move carries profound meaning.

Bai Qi, of course, was unaware that his every move was being watched. He was still secretly pleased and relieved to have killed Gou Chen and the others. In fact, anyone with a brain would know that the fact that Bai Qi and Gou Chen had fought for so long, yet their overflowing magical power hadn't destroyed Earth, meant that someone with great magical power had used a powerful divine ability to isolate the space where the battle was taking place.

Bai Qi was seriously injured. Even with his Great Witch's physique, it was impossible for him to withstand the combined attacks of more than a dozen Golden Immortals day and night. Bai Qi was battered and bruised after the battle, looking quite fierce. When he saw that his witch soldiers had also suffered heavy losses, his face contorted with rage, and he gritted his teeth and said, "Heavenly Court, I will never let you get away with this!"

At this moment, a guard from Qin Shi Huang's palace rode swiftly to the scene. This guard was one of the most skilled warriors of the Wu tribe, ordered to protect Ying Zheng closely. Logically, he should not have left Ying Zheng's side, so his arrival here indicated that something significant had happened to Ying Zheng.

Bai Qi was a little worried, fearing that something had happened to Ying Zheng. He thought to himself, "Could it be that besides Gouchen descending to the mortal realm to deal with me, there are other people in Heaven who have come to assassinate His Majesty?"

Bai Qi grew increasingly worried. Ying Zheng absolutely could not be harmed. Without the Emperor, Bai Qi would lose his legitimate reason for conquering. How could he not be anxious? However, the composure he had cultivated over years on the battlefield kept him calm. He shouted at the approaching warrior, "What's the rush? Didn't I tell you to protect His Majesty? Why are you here?"

When the warrior arrived at the place where Bai Qi had trained his troops, he was stunned by the completely changed scene before him, unable to believe his eyes. It was clearly the result of a great battle, but who could possibly have the strength to fight Bai Qi to the point of leveling several mountains? Since he couldn't understand it, he dared not ask any further questions. Upon hearing Bai Qi's words, he hurriedly bowed and said, "Your subordinate pays respects to General Bai Qi. I have received a personal edict from His Majesty, summoning you to return to the palace immediately, as there is an important matter to discuss."

Seeing that it wasn't Ying Zheng who was in trouble, Bai Qi secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but he couldn't figure out what important matter they needed to discuss, so he asked, "Do you know what important matter the King wants to discuss with me?"
