Chapter 563

"It's said that the 'Midnight Slayer' also deserves some credit. This will make the bounty difficult to divide. We'll see them fight tooth and nail over it!"

"I heard that Yug is easy to get along with and has a wide network of connections. Let's go and curry favor with him; maybe we can get some benefits from him in the future."

"..." Jelu returned to meet up with Firsa and told her companions what she had heard, heard and seen.

Philsa was expressionless, or rather, he dared not show any sign of worry.

"It's just a ruse. The goal is to lure us into a trap. Never mind that for now... Our first destination is... the Amethyst Town we agreed on with Yug. He'll definitely be waiting for us there."

As he said this, he felt utterly lost.

The only way forward is to take it one step at a time. He unconsciously clenched his fist.

He wanted to think about it a little longer when he sensed an ominous aura gathering around him.

They were currently in a dark alley.

Jielu quickly realized something was wrong. She looked around anxiously, "It seems like someone is approaching. Did they find us so quickly?"

“It’s not Midnight Slayer.” The companion confirmed by the aura that the newcomer was not someone they knew.

"Something else might have happened here. There are always fights in the alleys. We'd better stay away from here. Let's go."

The two quickly walked away in another direction. Sure enough, a short while later, the sound of clashing knives and guns came from the corner where they had been.

Before leaving the town, Jelu glanced back at it, wondering if her carelessness had led to this disaster.

Once they reached the main road, the two determined their direction. North was the direction ahead, separated by a mountain range that would take about half a day to cross.

A few more steps, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, we should be able to see the town that flourished because of the mineral vein—Amethyst Town—before nightfall. There, Yug should be anxiously waiting to reunite with his two companions.

After confirming the direction, Firsa set off without hesitation. His companion followed behind. Fortunately, a smooth mountain path had already been carved out for pedestrians to use on this mountain.

People occasionally pushed carts loaded with minerals back and forth in the mountains, and there were also a few scattered pedestrians, some of whom kindly reminded the outsider, Firsa, to be careful on the mountain path.

Amethyst Town, as its name suggests, is famous for a unique crystal that displays seven colors during the day and shines with purple light at night.

The town's amethyst stones are sold in very high quantities, so the town's workers specially built a road for them and even named the town "Amethyst".

"Although I had heard of it before, I had never been to this place before." In the past, my journey had been aimed at the far north, passing through various towns. This was my second visit to the ancient city of Wominbel.

Philsa suddenly thought of Sherry again. Lately, whenever she thought of her, she would see her image superimposed on that of the enchantress Priscilla.

He once found a stone slab in an ancient site and saw a portrait painted on it, discovering that the two people looked strikingly similar.

He didn't know if it was a coincidence or fate, and she never offered an explanation. Fortunately, until the end of that trip, neither of them had any further contact with Priscilla.

At the same time, Jelu was also wondering about some things: "I don't know much about the history of the Star Continent, so why is Priscilla called 'Femme Fatale'?"

"Priscilla is closely linked to the fall of the Kingdom of Valentino thousands of years ago. She orchestrated a massacre known as the 'Dance of the Blood Moon.' Furthermore, she is intricately connected to the downfall of the ancient hero Evans."

Firsa disliked the name Starry and continued to use the old name "Valentino" to refer to the continent.

If you were a resident of this continent, you would definitely be familiar with the three terms: "Kingdom of Valentino", "Full Moon Blood Dance" and "Hero Evans".

These can be considered three of the most widely known historical tragedies. Jielu didn't know much about them, but she could guess a little, and nodded.

Putting all that aside, she had met Shirley before. Even after so much time, the impression remained vivid. Shirley was gentle, considerate, and understanding.

Jelu remembered a time when she was seriously injured and it was thanks to her meticulous care that she was able to recover. She was not only Philsa's assistant but also a highly skilled healer.

How could such a young girl possibly be associated with a femme fatale who brought about the downfall of a kingdom?

3. If you ignore the clanging and banging noise of mining within the veins, Amethyst Town is remarkably peaceful. However, it's estimated that the town's residents are already used to it and consider it part of their daily lives.

The town's architecture is somewhat monotonous, with neat rows of bungalows lining both sides of the road, all constructed from ordinary stones.

The sidewalk was covered in green grass. The entrance to the mine was right next to the entrance to the town, where many workers were coming and going.

Jelu described the town's appearance and atmosphere in detail.

The residents were no longer surprised by outsiders, but they were still secretly astonished when they saw the young man who could walk freely with his eyes covered by a black cloth.

Philsa eventually put on his hat and continued walking. Gelu tried to help him, but he politely declined, saying that doing so would only arouse more suspicion.

The two walked side by side, exchanging few words. Unbeknownst to them, a person appeared behind them, dressed in tattered clothes, who looked like a beggar.

He walked so silently that even Jelu couldn't detect him. Philsa, however, had a very keen sense of perception and already knew someone was following him, but he hadn't told his companions yet.

"Where should we go now? The town is so big, and it's already dusk..."

"Let's go to the tavern first. Yes, the tavern."

"But we need to find the way to the tavern first."
