Five Saints Battle

Zhunti remained unmoved, saying, "How could you, a crude wretch, possibly know the great laws of the West?" He then resumed his battle with Tongtian. Laozi, standing to the side, frowned but stopped his attack. Yuanshi, disregarding all this, withdrew and joined Zhunti in the battle against Tongtian.

Tongtian unleashed his divine power, and despite the assistance of Yuanshi, he still managed to leave Zhunti in a sorry state. Since taking human form, Tongtian had inherited the valiant aspect of Pangu's primordial spirit and had always been adept at using weapons like swords, making him extremely skilled in close combat. Even Yuanshi and Zhunti, as sages, had to be wary of Tongtian's attacks.

Seeing Tongtian's power, the person who was being introduced to him looked even more distressed. He turned to Laozi and said, "Brother Dao, please lend a hand. The matter of the Investiture of the Gods cannot be delayed. We must not offend our teacher."

Laozi didn't want to make things difficult for Tongtian, and Tongtian's words today had somewhat moved him. However, what Jieyin said also made sense; the Investiture of the Gods was of utmost importance and could not be delayed. Laozi had no choice but to reluctantly nod in agreement. "Exactly." With that, Laozi picked up his cane and joined the fray.

Seeing that Laozi had made his move, Jieyin could no longer remain on the sidelines. Three bowl-sized relics rose from the top of his head, radiating boundless light, and he joined the battle.

The attack from Laozi and Jieyin immediately increased the pressure on Tongtian. Over the years, he had increased his cultivation by relying on the luck of the human race, but he was still inferior to Laozi and Jieyin. As soon as the two attacked, Tongtian felt the pressure. He had been struggling in his previous battle against Yuanshi and Zhunti, and now he was forced to have no power to fight back.

Laojun didn't want to push too hard, so he only blocked Tongtian's attacks during the battle to create opportunities for others. Jieyin did the same. In fact, Jieyin wasn't a bad person. Since attaining enlightenment, he had never killed any living being. Even in the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, he only took in the disciples of the Jie Sect and did not kill anyone else.

With Laozi's guidance and the assistance of the two, Yuanshi and Zhunti were no longer afraid of Tongtian's attacks. The two focused solely on their offensive, leaving Tongtian in a sorry state. Seeing that the protective immortal light on Tongtian's Qingping Sword had almost completely dissipated, Zhunti seized the opportunity while Tongtian was still under attack from Yuanshi and hadn't had time to reinforce his immortal light. He quickly brushed the Seven Treasures Tree onto the Qingping Sword. Caught off guard, the leader of the sect's sword collided with the Seven Treasures Tree, momentarily halting its movement. Yuanshi seized the opportunity to strike Tongtian. Just as Tongtian released his Purple Lightning Hammer to block, he was struck in the back by a reinforcing pestle. It turned out that Zhunti, seeing that Tongtian's hands were occupied, naturally released his golden body to launch a sneak attack.

Before Tongtian could get up, he was struck again by Zhunti's Seven Treasures Tree. The sect leader quickly dodged, but was enveloped by the golden body. Yuanshi took the opportunity to strike wildly, while Zhunti kept brushing the sword against the Qingping Sword, determined to brush it away. Tongtian refused to drop the sword and was hit countless times, until he saw stars and his Samadhi True Fire spewed out from his abdomen.

The cult leader roared, his body swelling to more than ten thousand times its original size, instantly breaking free from Zhunti's golden body. His arms were completely severed, golden blood flowing out and dripping to the ground, causing Zhunti great distress. The cult leader unleashed his divine power, activating his Nine Revolutions Yuan Gong, the Divine Art of the Intercepting Sect, manifesting his primordial spirit golden body into a gigantic man ten thousand feet tall, his muscles bulging, showing none of the demeanor of a grandmaster, but rather like a fierce warrior. Holding an enlarged Qingping Sword, he charged towards Zhunti's golden body.

Zhunti was shocked and quickly commanded his golden body to dodge, while he himself attacked Tongtian with the Seven Treasures Tree. However, Tongtian was completely unfazed by his attack; the Seven Treasures Tree struck Tongtian with only a clanging sound. Zhunti was astonished; upon closer inspection, he saw that the Seven Treasures Tree's attack had only left a bruise on Tongtian's body, which vanished in an instant. Just as he was wondering, Tongtian roared like a tiger and cleaved Zhunti's golden body in two with a single sword strike. Zhunti's face turned pale, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood, his expression weak yet filled with hatred as he glared at Tongtian.

The other three sages were also astonished. They never expected that Tongtian would have such a method. Although it was not a particularly powerful attack method and seemed to rely on trickery, it was still not to be underestimated. It took advantage of Zhunti's lack of understanding of the inner workings during their first meeting to severely injure Zhunti.

Yuanshi felt even more resentful. In his view, Tongtian's achievements were only due to the help of the human race's fortune. If the Chan Sect had taken over the human race's lineage, Yuanshi's cultivation would likely have been even higher over the years. Thinking of this, Yuanshi couldn't help but imagine the scene of the Chan Sect unifying the human race's lineage and him wielding his hand to slaughter everyone in sight.

While Yuanshi was lost in thought, Tongtian wouldn't give him the chance. Seeing Yuanshi's distraction, Tongtian, being an extremely sharp fighter, naturally wouldn't let him go, especially since Tongtian had previously suffered a considerable loss at Yuanshi's hands.

As Yuanshi was lost in thought, he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. Looking up, he saw a giant sword sweeping towards him. Startled, Yuanshi quickly threw out his jade ruyi to block it, but with a loud crash, the jade ruyi was knocked away by the giant sword. Fortunately, the giant sword formed from the Qingping sword was also blocked by it, but it still swung around. This brief moment gave Yuanshi enough time to react. He took out the Pangu Banner and waved it, unleashing dozens of chaotic sword energies that attacked the Qingping sword. The chaotic sword energies collided with the Qingping sword, creating an explosion. The surrounding void shattered, and countless streams of earth, water, fire, and wind surged out.

Upon seeing this, Laozi frowned, took out the Taiji Diagram, and tossed it into the air. It transformed into a golden bridge, fixing the situation in place. The earth, water, fire, and wind, suppressed by the Taiji Diagram, instantly vanished and returned to the void. Seeing that Laozi had also made a move, Tongtian swung his sword and attacked Laozi again, showing no signs of fatigue.

The four sages exchanged glances and roared in anger. Laozi and Yuanshi transformed into beings ten thousand feet tall, manifesting their golden primordial spirit bodies. Jieyin, whose body was originally crooked, also straightened instantly and transformed into a body ten thousand feet tall. Zhunti, not to be outdone, also grew to ten thousand feet tall. Laozi shouted to Tongtian, "Follow me to that place in the primordial starry sky for a battle!" After saying this, he led the way and flew out into the sky. The others followed, fearing that the power of their battle would be too great and shatter the primordial continent.
