Just as they were about to dodge, Taiyi Zhenren was not going to let them have their way so easily. He immediately unleashed several beams of Jade Purity Immortal Light to block them, toying with them like a cat playing with mice. He used his cultivation, which was far superior to theirs, to tease Li Si and the others without any shame. It looked like the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover was about to cover them.
Confucius, who was fighting with Yun Zhongzi, witnessed this scene and was immediately enraged. It was because Taiyi Zhenren was too arrogant, disregarding his status and attacking juniors, and even disregarding the face of their elders. What was even more infuriating was that he was using his cultivation to mock them. If Li Si, Wei Liao and others were to die, where would Confucius, Han Fei and the others put their face? They were all founders of the same sect, how could they tolerate this?
In the struggle between the Chan and Ren sects, Confucius was actually the most relaxed. Yun Zhongzi's cultivation was inferior to Confucius's. Zhuangzi and Han Fei were evenly matched, and the two were locked in a fierce battle. Mozi directly faced the siege of seven Golden Immortals from the Chan sect. Even though these seven had not recovered their cultivation, their magical treasures were not to be underestimated, especially Guang Chengzi's Fan Tian Seal, which put immense pressure on Mozi. Fortunately, the Mohist school was known for its defensive strategy, so nothing went wrong. However, Mozi was the most exhausted.
Seeing that the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover was about to trap Li Si and the others, Confucius roared, "Taiyi, how dare you!" He deftly deflected Yun Zhongzi's attack with a single stroke, and pointed his Spring and Autumn Reincarnation Brush at the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover with his left hand. Instantly, a golden light flashed out, fixing the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover in mid-air. This was a method of mimicking the Immortal Binding Rope with the power of words. The "fixing" method was even stronger than the Immortal Binding Rope. It could not only capture people but also fix objects. Of course, it depended on the cultivation level, but Taiyi Zhenren was far inferior to him and was not afraid.
When Taiyi Zhenren saw this, he was immediately startled. Although the magic weapon had not lost contact with him, it was not obeying his commands. He was very surprised and suspicious of Confucius's methods.
Upon seeing this, Yun Zhongzi immediately understood the reason. Although he did not agree with Taiyi Zhenren's approach, the struggle was still ongoing, so he prioritized his own interests. Moreover, although he had gained the favor of Yuanshi and his status in the Chan Sect had risen rapidly over the years, he had also offended many people. With this in mind, Yun Zhongzi immediately took out an object that was modeled after Laozi's white jade cane and threw it at the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover.
Forty-Seven Sword Domain
Confucius hadn't anticipated Yun Zhongzi's sneak attack. Frankly, Confucius wasn't very experienced in combat, and understanding human nature was extremely difficult. He hadn't expected Yun Zhongzi to be so shameless. Although he didn't openly help Taiyi Zhenren, he intended to break the "fixed" spell. At that point, the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover would still fall, and although Confucius wanted to rescue him, he might not be able to do so in time. Moreover, Yun Zhongzi was meticulous; having just dropped one magical treasure, he now dropped another: the Heavenly Divine Fire Pillars. These eight pillars were over three zhang tall and over one zhang in diameter, arranged according to the eight trigrams. Within each pillar appeared forty-nine fire dragons.
The eight pillars enveloped Confucius for a moment, and a raging fire broke out. Although Confucius was anxious, he could not break through the formation set up by the pillars of divine fire in a short time.
This magical artifact was originally given to Yun Zhongzi by the Primordial Gods to guard the cave. During the great war of the Investiture of the Gods, Yun Zhongzi used this artifact to burn Grand Tutor Wen to death at Jue Long Ridge. Now, with his greatly increased cultivation, Yun Zhongzi uses it, making it even more powerful than before.
Eight pillars of divine fire, each over three zhang tall and over one zhang long, were arranged according to the eight trigrams: Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen, Xun, Li, Kun, and Dui. Confucius stood in the middle and urgently shouted at Yun Zhongzi, "You are all too despicable, using your seniority to attack a junior! Release me immediately! If my nephew suffers even the slightest harm, I will never let you off the hook!" His voice was resolute, showing that he had made up his mind.
Yun Zhongzi showed no shame, but sighed and said, "It's not that I don't care, fellow Daoist also knows the cause and effect. Those Li Si and others acted against the heavens and deserved to die. Fellow Daoist cannot blame us." After saying that, he continued to shake the pillar open, and forty-nine fire dragons appeared in each pillar, with raging flames flying.
This fire is no ordinary being; it is the result of the successful union of three forces. A hero alone possesses it, its power like a whirlwind. Forged into a central pillar of fire, it contains several divine dragons, their mouths spewing smoke and flames, their claws glowing red. It boils the sea of suffering to its very end, burns mountains to the ground, turns wood to ash, and transforms metal into a rainbow. It was first established by Suiren, appearing without a trace within the wood. This rare treasure of lightning within stone, its golden light piercing through the nine heavens. In the heavens, it is the sun, communicating with the Emperor; on earth, it brings life to the common people; in the human body, it governs the heart. The profound power within this fire is truly extraordinary. Even if you possess the body of a deity, you cannot escape my wrath.
Confucius's expression turned cold. He pointed his Reincarnation Brush, and a burst of air erupted in the sky. Golden light surged out and formed a wall, blocking the fire. He didn't even bother to cast the Fire Avoidance Incantation. He picked up the Qiankun Ruler and swung straight into the formation. Xuan Tian Xue was a master of both heaven and man. Besides the profound mysteries of Taoism, formations were also his forte. In Confucius's eyes, Yun Zhongzi's little trick was really like showing off his skills in front of an expert.
Yun Zhongzi had no intention of stopping Confucius. After all, although the Heavenly Divine Fire Pillar seemed powerful, it was of little use to someone of this level of cultivation. He could simply block it for a moment and that would be the end of it. He figured that Taiyi Zhenren should be done by now.
Meanwhile, Li Si and the others, upon seeing the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover descend, turned pale, knowing they couldn't withstand such a powerful magic weapon and were about to fall inside. Unexpectedly, Confucius struck and blocked the magic weapon. Just as they caught their breath, they saw the flat staff thrown by Yun Zhongzi collide with the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover, causing the magic weapon to break free of the restriction and fly towards the two of them again. The two of them were shocked again, thinking that they were doomed. Before they could finish speaking, they saw something flying from the heavens, shining with dazzling light, which blinded everyone for a moment.
Once they got used to it, they saw a pearl standing above Li Si and Wei Liao's heads, from which a radiant light emanated, blocking the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover with golden light, preventing it from falling.
