The owner's persuasive skills were superb, befitting someone with years of experience running a tavern. Thus, the conflict was completely resolved, and the tavern returned to its previous atmosphere.
Xu Ren discovered that someone had taken advantage of the chaos to sneak in.
It turned out to be another colleague, so he reminded Red Blade: "Thin Blade is back, and it seems he has discovered something."
Hongren walked over and pulled the injured woman into his arms, whispering, "I might be back late tonight. Remember to wait for me in bed. You need some discipline."
He then instructed his servants to carry him upstairs.
She was too weak to push him away and was forcibly taken away.
Taverns rarely see women, especially at midnight. So, the woman in purple attracted many curious glances as soon as she entered.
Her face was expressionless, like a maskābut even if it really was a mask, it looked like it had been carefully sculpted.
Before they could even process what they were thinking, the purple shadow had already drifted behind their two other "Midnight Slayer" colleagues.
The three main members of "Midnight Slayer" have finally gathered together.
Thin Blade glanced at his two colleagues, then stared intently at the boss for a moment. Everyone knew that the boss always liked to argue with others over trivial matters.
Although Bo Ren was somewhat dissatisfied, he didn't show it on his face.
Instead, he spoke calmly, as if giving a report: "According to the familiar, the prey has made a move."
Upon hearing this, Xu Ren was the first to stand up, as if he had expected it all along.
He took back his coat and put it on, saying coldly, "This stain on the Midnight Slayer must be washed away as soon as possible."
Thin Blade understood what his words meant.
Red Blade failed to stop Felsa of Extreme Ice from causing trouble at the Feast of Heroes, resulting in the loss of the Wind Vortex Stone and enraging King Augustine.
Fortunately, the king did not punish them, otherwise the name "Midnight Slayer" and its members would have remained only as legends and never been seen again.
Red Blade remained silent, reaching behind him to stroke the hilt of his sword. He then drew the blade, revealing its crimson gleam.
Red Blade gazed meaningfully at the beloved sword in his hand.
When someone drew their weapon, the tavern fell silent, wondering what unpleasant thing was about to happen.
Red Blade ignored everything around him, his attention focused solely on his sword. "Our prey has walked right into our trap. We two want to see this guy who can unleash a massive avalanche, right?"
The red-haired youth spoke softly, as if to a lover. Those around him held their breath, fearful of this red-haired youth who could be both furious and ambiguous.
Meanwhile, his colleagues were already used to Red Blade's strange behavior and had long since packed up and were ready to set off.
The three left together. Soon after, the long-suppressed sound of horses' hooves rose outside the tavern.
2. This is the fifth night since Philsa reclaimed the Wind Vortex Stone and embarked on his journey to seek a "miracle".
The so-called miracle refers to the forbidden secret technique that can revive a dead comrade.
Before the "Feast of Heroes", Philsa met the most famous crystallizer on the continent - Yog Hackberry, a mage who was good at making dolls with crystal threads.
The latter agreed to help him resurrect his companions, and a pact was made. Until their goal was achieved, they would stand together. Accompanying them was a blonde girl dressed in black, Jell Snow.
Looking at the map, the three had been heading north, their destination unknown. However, it was speculated that it was related to a resurrection ritual.
This is the intelligence the monitors have gathered. Unseen eyes are watching them all along.
Yug walked at the front, identifying the path, and estimated in his mind that it would take about another 15 minutes to reach the rest stop.
Jelu supported Philsa the whole time, even though the latter walked faster. Although he couldn't see the road, his steps were as steady and calm as a normal person walking during the day.
He wore a cloak, and the hood covered his face with an eye patch to avoid being recognized. After all, there weren't many travelers on the Starry Continent who walked around wearing eye patches.
Even at night, the three dared not walk openly on the main road, and could only proceed along the side paths. At this moment, they were in the quiet forest, groping their way forward. Fortunately, the leader had a good sense of direction, and they rarely got lost. Now they were almost out of the forest.
The journey was still quite long before they reached their final destination, and they didn't want to encounter any unnecessary trouble along the way.
They didn't say much along the way, but they had already developed a tacit understanding. Yug looked into the distance and finally spotted a useful signpost, realizing that the rest stop was not far away. He thought he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
So he said to himself with great interest, "Luckily I didn't get lost. I'll spend the night in Shiduwoming Bayle."
"The City of Time?" Philsa asked, his voice hoarse as if he hadn't spoken in a long time.
He recognized the place, and memories flooded back. This resting place was familiar; he had visited it before. Nevertheless, it was a long time ago.
"That's right. This is an ancient capital with a long history, where all sorts of people gather, including many travelers from outside the continent."
Although it's a mixed bag, it's a good place to hide, and it's not impossible to recuperate quietly. The king wouldn't dare to cause trouble here, and the Throne Knights have no jurisdiction over this." Yug muttered to himself, quickening his pace.
"Take a break for now and let your injuries heal better before we talk again," Jielu said, though her tone was somewhat firm.
After three days of continuous travel, no one had had a proper rest, not to mention the wounded. Since escaping the "Feast of Heroes," Philsa had only given his wounds simple bandaging; only he himself knew the true extent of his injuries. However, she could sense the anxiety in her companions' hearts, and thus felt conflicted.
