There was an old man sitting up there, none other than Elder Tucker. He clearly knew we were coming beforehand, and he looked at us calmly. "You've finally arrived. I've been waiting for quite a while."
Xiang Fei shook his head, "Another person who has been blinded by evil magic."
"Haha, you so-called 'upright' hypocrites, stop talking nonsense to me. Today, you've come here, and you're not leaving," Elder Tucker said with a sinister look in his eyes.
Then he picked up a scepter-like stick beside him and struck it on the ground. A cold wind suddenly rose in the valley, and vengeful spirits emerged from the corners, as if he had arrived at an ancient sacrificial site.
These were no challenge for Xiang Fei and me. With the use of Yin-Yang techniques, we threw out talismans, and the vengeful spirits and ghosts in front of us all made way. Then, I lit the Soul-Suppressing Lamp, and everything around us calmed down.
I walked towards the altar and smiled disdainfully, "Your tricks are no match for mine. Show me what else you've got."
Indeed, we are now accustomed to the evil arts passed down from ancient Shu, and this place is obviously just a remnant of the Qiang people, far removed from the true evil arts of ancient Shu.
Elder Tucker's expression was uncertain, clearly not expecting our abilities to be far beyond his expectations.
I walked up to him with the Soul-Suppressing Lamp in my hand and looked at him. "From the very beginning, you've been plotting against us. In fact, Chief Taji has been dead for a long time. It was all a conspiracy you orchestrated. Now, you'd better confess honestly. Who is the real mastermind behind this?"
Elder Tucker's eyes flickered uncertainly. "It seems you know quite a lot. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I don't know who that person is either. I've never seen his true face."
After saying that, he jumped off the altar, chuckled at us, and ran towards the innermost part of the valley.
At this moment, the corpses that were originally hanging on the trees suddenly moved and crawled towards us. Moreover, black liquid kept gushing out from around the altar, and human-shaped objects were wriggling inside.
Elder Tak's voice echoed from the depths of the valley, "You underestimate me too much. Do you think that's all you've got? Heh heh! Now you'd better pray for yourselves. This is one of the oldest evil spells of the Qiang people. Being trapped inside will be very painful."
Several more statues appeared around them; these were the evil gods of ancient Shu, and the deities worshipped in sorcery.
We quickly set up the Yin-Yang magic array around us, took out some copper coins, and I set up the Big Dipper array. Xiang Fei asked me to give him the Soul-Suppressing Lamp, and then I began to perform the ritual.
"The principles of Yin and Yang define the universe, and eliminating evil is the way of righteousness..."
As Xiang Fei chanted the incantation, he suddenly opened his eyes, pointed a finger, and shouted, "Yin and Yang determine the universe, break this spell!"
The statues around me shattered and collapsed, and the corpses around me retreated. Seeing how sharp Xiang Fei was, I couldn't help but want to show off my skills. I shouted, "Big Dipper Exterminates Evil!" and jumped down with the Seven Star Step.
He threw out the copper coin in his hand, setting up a Seven Star Formation around me. "The Three Pure Ones have ordered that you all kneel down and submit to the law."
Then I saw those vengeful ghosts and vengeful spirits bowing to me, and the corpses also stopped.
"I now know that you are also caught in a bind. I will now break the seal here to help you escape. Are you willing to be reincarnated?"
One Hundred and Twenty-Three Evil Arts
Xiang Fei also came over with the Soul-Suppressing Lamp, and the surrounding wronged souls and vengeful ghosts nodded, indicating their willingness to be released and go.
Xiang Fei and I immediately began to perform a ritual to break the sealing formation of this place, allowing these wronged souls and vengeful ghosts to escape.
“Everything has its own way, humans have their own way, and ghosts have their own way. You should go wherever you need to go,” Xiang Fei said, scattering the yellow paper in his hand.
As the surroundings gradually calmed down, I looked around and found the woman's corpse, lying in the pile of corpses. I used a Taoist talisman to expel the evil spirits from her body.
Finally, Xiang Fei performed a ritual, using Taoist fire to burn all the corpses. I saw the woman bow to us in the mist.
"You're free now, go!" I said softly.
The woman bowed to us again and then disappeared into the mist.
The valley gradually brightened, and we looked around for Elder Tucker, but couldn't find him. He must have already escaped.
We packed up and headed back. Looking at the time, it was almost noon. Bamu was treating us to mutton hotpot.
We went straight into the village, and the people inside were quite flustered when they saw us. Bamu, in particular, was wide-eyed when he saw us, as his family was preparing to eat, and there was no mutton hot pot on the table.
"Hey, Uncle Bamu, weren't you going to treat us to mutton hotpot? Where's the hotpot?" I looked around, giving him a confused look.
"Ahem... this... I forgot. Look how bad my memory is. But it's not too late now. I'll go slaughter a sheep now, everyone come and eat," Bamu said as he walked into the courtyard.
Xiang Fei and I exchanged a glance, sensing something was wrong, and quickly headed out of the village.
Sure enough, as soon as we left the village, Bamu led the entire village, armed with machetes and hoes, and chased after us.
Seeing this, we had no choice but to run for our lives. The group behind us was shouting and yelling, and even the old lady came.
In desperation, Xiang Fei took out a talisman and used his flying escape technique to stick one on each of us. Then, as if we had accelerated, we ran away instantly and disappeared in a moment. The group of people behind us could not catch up.
