Hongjun remained expressionless and said, "I'll make a bet with you all."
"What kind of bet?"
“If I can withstand one of your attacks, you should retreat. From then on, the demon race will rule the heavens and the witch race will rule the earth. What do you say?” Hongjun said.
"Good!" The Wu Clan firmly believed that even Hongjun could not withstand the power of Pangu's true form, and the million Wu Clan members shouted in unison.
Then, Pangu's true form raised his right hand, gathered all his strength, and unleashed a punch straight at Hongjun. The space in the path of the fist shattered, and earth, water, wind, and fire surged forth. The demons were terrified. When the fist reached Hongjun, it was as if it had hit cotton, without any force. The space in front of Hongjun rippled like water a few times, and the fist could not go any further. This made everyone feel frustrated, like seeing a naked woman in a dream, ready to raise a spear to fight, but then waking up from the dream, extremely disappointed.
"Well? I've taken one punch from you all. As agreed, you should leave now." Hongjun remained expressionless as before.
Pangu's true form blurred for a moment, then split into twelve Ancestral Witches, all of whom had expressions of dissatisfaction, but dared not raise any further objections and nodded in agreement.
Under the leadership of the ancestral shaman, the shaman clan retreated like a tide.
Ancestor Hongjun glanced down and then transmitted his voice to the primordial world: From this day forward, the demon race will rule the heavens, and the witch race will rule the earth. No war is permitted for ten thousand years. He no longer cares about what happens after ten thousand years. The two races then remained quiet for a while, but things remained the same as before. Although neither side dared to initiate a battle, fighting continued below, but these were all minor skirmishes and did not attract Hongjun's attention.
The Purple Night Reopens on the Fourteenth Day, and Cause and Effect Abound
A thousand years later, the Zixiao Palace held another lecture. This was Hongjun's third lecture, and the last one. At this time, a person also emerged from the Taiyin Xuantian Palace. This person was Xuantian. He was still at the Two Corpses Severing Realm, but his cultivation had increased considerably, reaching the peak of Quasi-Saint. One more step and he would be able to sever the Three Corpses, and then become a Saint. However, he was unable to sever the last Corpse and thus could not achieve the Dao.
Xuan Tian left the Taiyin Xuan Tian Palace and, after calculating the time, knew that the Zi Xiao Palace would reopen. This was the last time he would preach, and it was also the time to distribute the opportunity to become a saint. He had to go. With a single step, he instantly arrived in the chaos, in front of the Zi Xiao Palace. Just as he was about to enter, he saw Hao Tian outside the door, preparing to guide those who were going to listen to the sermon. Xuan Tian's heart stirred, and he stepped forward, saying, "Junior Brother Hao Tian, it's been a thousand years. Your cultivation has improved again. It's truly a blessing to be by your teacher's side."
Upon seeing that it was Xuan Tian, Hao Tian felt a surge of warmth in his heart. Xuan Tian was arguably the only person besides Yao Chi who could be considered a true friend. He immediately bowed deeply to Xuan Tian and said, "Thank you for your praise, Senior Brother. However, I am afraid that Hao Tian's cultivation level is not worthy of your attention. It has been a thousand years since we last met, but your cultivation has become even more profound. Please go in first, Senior Brother. I still have to guide the others who have come to listen to the Dao."
"Junior Brother Haotian, I'll go in first. I have some fruits I've collected. You can share them with Yaochi." After saying that, he took out the Primordial Spirit Fruit that he had transplanted on Penglai Island. The fruit could increase cultivation and handed it to Haotian. Haotian was so moved that he almost cried. Seeing him like this, Xuantian smiled and walked inside.
Upon entering the palace, seeing that there was no one else there, he went straight to a seat in the head row and sat down, then closed his eyes and began to wander in the void.
A short while later, the Three Pure Ones arrived. Xuan Tian opened his eyes, but did not get up. He nodded to them, and the Three Pure Ones also stepped forward to bow to Xuan Tian. After bowing, they sat down and followed Xuan Tian's example by closing their eyes to rest.
A little while later, Nuwa, Fuxi, and others arrived, paid their respects to the Three Pure Ones of Xuantian, and then sat down. Afterwards, the two Heavenly Emperors, Hongyun, Zhenyuan, Kunpeng, and others arrived, along with two figures from the West. Soon, the number of people increased, but this time the number was even smaller, only thirty or forty. From several hundred at the beginning to only thirty or forty now, the number was decreasing, mostly because they had failed to survive the calamity, demonstrating the chaos of the primordial world.
Among them, the one with the highest cultivation is Xuan Tian, followed by the Three Pure Ones. These Three Pure Ones are transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu. They are destined to become saints by the Heavenly Dao. They do not need to sever their corpses. They only need to wait for their cultivation and magical power to be sufficient to become saints. Lao Jun has already severed two corpses. Yuan Shi Tong Tian has also severed two corpses. Nuwa has not severed her corpse, but her cultivation is comparable to that of someone who has severed one corpse. The remaining two in the West have not severed their corpses either. Emperor Jun of the Heavenly Court severed one corpse by borrowing the He Tu and Luo Shu. Dong Huang severed one corpse by borrowing the Chaos Bell.
Seeing that they hadn't seen each other for a thousand years, everyone greeted those they knew, creating a rare lively atmosphere in Zixiao Palace. Houtu also arrived, greeted the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa, and then found a secluded spot to sit down.
Suddenly, Haotian entered and shouted: "Ancestor Hongjun is about to begin his lecture. No noise is allowed in Zixiao Palace." After saying this, he nodded to Xuantian and then stood beside the futon where Hongjun was sitting.
Hongjun suddenly appeared on the prayer mat again. Xuantian sighed inwardly, thinking that everyone below the level of a sage was indeed an ant. Although he was only one step away from becoming a sage, he still couldn't see how Hongjun appeared.
This was a mistake Xuan Tian made. Hong Jun, having attained enlightenment through the Jade Tablet of Creation, would inevitably have to repay the great karmic debts of the world. That was why he opened the Zixiao Palace to teach and enlighten all beings. Xuan Tian's cultivation was progressing, and so was Hong Jun's. How could he see clearly when he looked at Hong Jun with his old perspective?
Hongjun, seeing that everyone had arrived, began his sermon.
What is being taught today is the Dharma that one learns after attaining sainthood. Everyone is trying their best to memorize it, but they lack the necessary opportunity to practice. Only those sitting in the first seven seats can understand it.
Xuan Tian, as always, meticulously copied the Dao Ancestor's teachings, hoping the Azure Lotus could grow again. Perhaps the opportunity had passed, for even after the lecture ended, the Azure Lotus showed no sign of life. Why didn't he record it on the jade disc fragment? Wouldn't it be better if he could further advance his understanding of the jade disc fragment? Actually, Xuan Tian had this intention, but he dared not, fearing Hong Jun would snatch his jade disc. If Hong Jun knew he possessed a fragment of the jade disc, he would undoubtedly take it to complete his own fragment. This was a sacred artifact for mastering the Heavenly Dao; it was hard to guarantee Hong Jun wouldn't be tempted. He himself had merged with the Dao, intending to use his own body to complete the Heavenly Dao, yet he still hadn't fully grasped it. If he could obtain Xuan Tian's fragment, wouldn't he advance even further?
